Abstract

This study aims to compare the resistance of hybrid maize varieties from "PT Cipta Makmur Pertiwi" to downy mildew caused by P. philippinensis and P. maydis species. This research was conducted from May to August 2020 at IP2TP Balitsereal Bontobili, Gowa, South Sulawesi and in July-October 2020 in Kencong Village, Kepung District, Kediri Regency. The experiment was arranged in a group design with 3 replications. Each line, spacing of 70 x 20 cm, population of 120-150 plants. For comparison, the susceptible variety was the Anoman variety and the resistant variety Pertiwi 6. The susceptible and resistant varieties were planted side by side in every 3 lines and varieties tested. The results showed that strain TB 06 (13.60%) was classified as resistant and strain TB04 (35.89%), ADV 777 (26.38%) and ADTR 5123 27.24% was classified as moderately resistant to downy mildew caused by Peronosclerospora species. . Test line TB 06 infected 19.59%, or classified as resistant, in a susceptible comparison (Anoman) the intensity reached 99.30% (very susceptible) and was positively corrected in a resistant comparison (Pertiwi 6) infected 14.58 or resistant to disease downy mildew caused by the species Peronosclerospora maydis. From the results of the study, for the ADTR5123 variety in the Bontobili region, resistance to downy mildew 12.47% to 27.24% was classified as moderately resistant. While the ADTR5123 variety in the Kediri region was resistant to downy mildew from 92.51% to 94.24% classified as very susceptible

Abstract

Long beans (Vigna sinensis L.) are a type of vegetable crop that has been cultivated for a long time and is one of the plants that are widely consumed by the people of Indonesia One of the barriers to the productivity of long beans is pest attacks. One of the efforts made by farmers to control pests is by using insecticides. Conventional pest control began to be abandoned and switched to control based on the concept of PHT to reduce the negative impact of the use of pesticides by using yellow trap trap media. This study aims to determine the diversity of insects, this study identifies insects on long bean farmland that are interested in the color of traps that have been installed in 5 places systematically. The diversity of insects found in this study is 20 families. It consists of Chrysomelidae, Coccinellidae, Scarabidae, Reduvidae, Alydidae, Satyridae, Blattellidae, Tachinidae, Agromyzidae, Drosophildae, Tephritidae, Muscidae, Acrididae, Ichneumonidae, Formicidae, Braconidae, Cicadellidae, Aphididae, Pyralidae, and Pentatomidae. The value of the insect diversity index (H') in semi organic is 2.50 and anorganic is 2.58. The dominance on semi organic is 0.101 and anorganic is 0.103 which means low. This shows that the land has a variety of insect species and no insect species dominate.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality of beef meatballs and chicken meatballs through organoleptic tests. The research was conducted in Manyaran Village, Banyakan District, Kediri Regency. The research method uses experiments with 6 (six) formulas, namely (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3) panelists in this test are selected based on certain criteria. Organoleptic testing involves assessing appearance, aroma, taste and texture using the hedonic method. The results of the panelists' assessments were tabulated using Microsoft Excel and then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The organoleptic test results showed that beef meatballs with a mixture of A2 carcass meat (DS 1 + DK ¼) received the highest favorability for appearance, aroma, taste and texture with an average score of 5.65. Beef meatballs with formula A2 (DS 1 + DK ¼) are the best meatball products based on organoleptic tests. The conclusions of organoleptic tests and consumer assessments show that the A2 meatball formula (DS 1 + DK ¼) is the best and meets consumer expectations

Abstract

This article reviews the effectiveness of probiotic supplements in improving the quality of dairy cow milk with the aim of providing a deep understanding of their impact on milk production and livestock health. Through a literature search from academic databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, as well as analysis of recent journal articles and research reports, it was found that probiotics can significantly enhance the protein content, fat content, and microbiological stability of milk, as well as improve the balance of intestinal microflora and immune response in cows. Although research results show positive benefits, there is variation in the effectiveness of probiotics influenced by the type of probiotic, dosage, frequency of administration, and farm management conditions. The conclusion of this review is that probiotics have great potential to improve milk quality, but further research is needed to optimize their use under various farming conditions.

Abstract

As time goes by and the soaring population of Indonesia and the image that Indonesia is facing a demographic bonus, namely the phenomenon when the number of people of productive age (15 - 64 years) is greater than the number of people of non-productive age (65 years and over) is a rare moment that only happens once in the history of a nation.This phenomenon can be a great opportunity in the development of the country towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 if accompanied by the quality of good human resources, of course this is not spared from the availability of nutritious food sources of animal protein, one of which can be an option, namely chicken meat. Therefore, farmers are required to always increase their productivity, one of the things that affects productivity is the initial weight of the doc. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the initial weight of the doc and the productivity of broilers in partnership patterns that are useful to help readers and farmers in choosing a partnership company that can provide maximum profit. Materials and research methods using by direct survey with 2 farmers who have the same age, type of doc, type of feed and partnership company but have different doc weights, namely farmer 1 with super seed doc while farmer 2 with young seed doc. The results of our research clearly show that the initial weight of the super doc, which is 37 - 41 grams, produces a harvest weight according to the broiler performance target and suppresses the FCR rate so that the farmer's income is greater than the young seed doc with an initial weight below 37 grams, but has no significant effect on the mortality rate that we studied and recorded body weight every week until the chicken is harvested, so the conclusion is that there is a real relationship between the initial weight of the doc and the productivity of the broiler partnership pattern.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the organoleptic quality of salted duck eggs treated with a combination of lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) and cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens), and to determine the best formulation that produces optimal organoleptic quality. The study was conducted using the completely randomized design (CRD) method, consisting of 4 treatments and 6 replicates, each of which included 3 duck eggs, with treatment P0: without lime (Citrus hystrix) with cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens), P1: 20% lime (Citrus hystrix) + 80% cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens), P2: 50% lime (Citrus hystrix) + 50% cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens), P3: 80 kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) + 20% cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens). The results of the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on aroma and taste, but color, texture, and preference level did not show a significant effect (P<0.05). Consumers most preferred salted duck eggs combined with a mixture of 20% kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) and 80% cayenne pepper (Capsicum futescens) extract (P1), while the least preferred salted duck eggs were those containing 80% kaffir lime (Citrus hystrix) and 20% cayenne pepper (Capsicum futescens) extract (P3).

Abstract

Weed inventory is important to assess the potential for the development of crop cultivation within a specific land area. This study aims to identify weed species and determine weed dominance in the experimental field at Watu Alo, Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara. A purposive random sampling technique was conducted using the quadrat method, in which 1 x 1 m2 plots were randomly thrown across the field and repeated five times. A descriptive analysis approach was used, with species identification based on morphological characteristics. The important Value Index and weed dominance values were subsequently calculated. The study revealed three major weed groups there are grasses (4 species), sedges (2 species), and broadleaf weeds (4 species). The most dominant weeds in that area were Ageratum conyzoides (143.5%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis karakteristik beberapa sifat kimia tanah lahan sawah pada kemiringan berbeda di Kecamatan Bungi Kota Baubau. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan bor tanah pada lereng 0-2% dan 2-8%. Kriteria penilaian hasil analisis menurut Balai Penelitian Tanah (2023). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik beberapa sifat kimia tanah sawah meliputi pH, C-organik, N-total, P-total, K-total, dan KTK pada kemiringan 0-2% yaitu 6,56(agak masam), 3,71%(tinggi), 0,66%(tinggi), 32,24 mg 100 g-1(sedang), 29,64 mg 100 g-1(sedang), dan 28,78 cmol kg-1(tinggi). Sedangkan pada kemiringan 2-8% yaitu 6,89(netral), 3,91%(tinggi), 0,74%(tinggi), 36,96 mg 100 g-1(sedang), 42,62 mg 100 g-1(tinggi), 32,99 cmol kg-1(tinggi). Hasil analisis menunjukkan pH, C-organik, N-total, P-total, K-total, dan KTK memiliki kadar lebih tinggi pada kemiringan 2-8% dibanding kemiringan 0-2%.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the potential of palm oil waste as ruminant livestock feed in Bulik District, Lamandau Regency. The research method used is a survey method using a questionnaire. The sample used was 60 farmers determined using the Slovin formula. The variables observed were the potential of palm oil waste as livestock feed consisting of fronds and leaves and technical aspects of livestock maintenance. Data analysis was descriptively based on the Technical Factor Identification Score of Livestock Standard Guidelines from the Directorate General of Livestock (1990). The results showed that the potential for palm oil fronds and leaves waste for feed was: 87.657.600 kg for each year and could feed 6,419,65 AU. The technical aspects of beef cattle farming in Bulik District were: 53.41% with categories: 51.04% livestock; 46.90% feed, 62% maintenance, 81.11% housing and 40.88% healthy technical aspects.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Kayubulan Kecamatan Batudaa Pantai Kabupaten Gorontalo. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan program PUAP, dampak program PUAP terhadap produktivitas jagung dan pemilihan strategi pemberdayaan petani melalui program PUAP. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 100 orang petani anggota kelompok petani penerima dana BLM PUAP tahun 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengembalian dana program PUAP oleh petani masih rendah yaitu sebesar 32%. Hasil analisis uji-t berpasangan menunjukkan bahwa program PUAP memberikan dampak yang signifikan (nyata pada taraf kepercayaan 95%) terhadap produktivitas usahatani jagung dibandingkan sebelum menerima dana program PUAP. Pelaksanaan program PUAP kepada petani jagung memiliki kelebihan yang sangat dirasakan oleh petani disamping terdapat potensi ancaman (tantangan). Petani sangat merasakan keberadaan program PUAP sebagai salah satu penyedia permodalan usahatani jagung. Namun demikian rendahnya tingkat pengembalian dana program oleh petani berpengaruh pada keberlanjutan program itu sendiri.
