Abstract

Learning to write Javanese texts has not been promoted because there are obstacles starting from the lack of different learning methods and media, which makes it difficult for students to write scripts and sandhangan because the style and pronunciation are the same. The purpose of the research to develop a skillful, efficient and effective Scrabble-based Javanese written language learning to facilitate the learning of the Javanese language, text writing and improve writing skills in students of the fourth grade at SDN Ngebelgede I. This development uses the 4-D (four-D) model. it has 4 stages namely Definition, Design, Development and Dissemination. Data collection methods use observations, interviews, questionnaires, tests and documents. The data analysis method makes use of qualitative analysis in the form of advice and input from experts, as well as quantitative analysis obtained from statistical analysis in the form of questionnaires and tests. The result of the emphasis on the material in the media received an average value of 4.8 with a very strong component. The media confirmation result is the result of an average of 4.5 real parts. The results of the teacher's answers reached an average of 4.8 points in the specific skill category. The results of the students' answers to the short test received a score of 4.12 in the functional category and the results of the field test received a score of 4.33 in the category of specific skills. Scrabble-based learning media for writing the Javanese script is also effective in improving writing skills according to the student's academic average. There is a difference shown by the mean value of the last paired sample T-test producing Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05 with a mean pretest score of 47.27 and a mean posttest score JURNAL PERSEDA VOL. VII, NO. 3, DESEMBER 2024 | 290 of 82.27, an increase of 35.00. It can be concluded that Scrabble-based javanese script learning media is effective in improving Javanese script writing skills.

Abstract

The implementation of literacy activities, both from government ideas and independent school ideas, is still not running optimally. This research aims to review the problems of implementing literacy activities in elementary schools. The method used in this research is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) where researchers try to collect and integrate various findings from previous research related to barriers to implementing literacy activities in elementary schools. The results of the research found general obstacles to implementing literacy activities in elementary schools, namely: (1) Lack of facilities and infrastructure to support literacy activities; (2) Lack of interest in reading by students; (3) Lack of drive for school literacy activities; (4) Lack of teacher innovation in the use of literacy learning media; and (5) Lack of parental support. Meanwhile, the solutions offered are:(1) Fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure, especially libraries and reading books; (2) Optimization of reading literacy activities 15 minutes before learning; (3) Maximizing the role of teachers as drivers of literacy activities in schools; (4) Innovation in literacy learning such as the use of media and use of technology; and (5 Maximizing the role of parents as a motivator to increase interest in reading. Based on the results and discussion that have been presented, it can be concluded that in implementing literacy activities in elementary schools there are still many problems encountered, but there are also many solutions offered.

Abstract

His study aims to develop an interactive e-book based on Canva focused on the topic of the human digestive system, ensuring it is valid, practical, and effective as a learning medium for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN 4 Simpang Katis during the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques involved expert validation, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The validation results showed a high level of validity, with an average score of 94.44%. Student responses indicated a very high level of practicality, with an average score of 92.3%, while the effectiveness test showed an average score of 92%. The interactive ebook features content in visual formats such as text, images, and videos, which enhances students’ understanding and motivation to learn. Therefore, the interactive e-book based on Canva is considered appropriate for use as a learning tool for teaching the human digestive system in elementary school science classes

Abstract

Supervision inherent in the principal’s which is applied by planning, approaching, and ending with follow-up. All of those methods aim to improve teacher’s performance in order to achieve the school's vision and mission that have been proclaimed. The researcher wanted to know three things related to the supervision of the principal at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Malang. The way of supervision by the principal, the approach and method of supervising, the impact of supervision by the principal. The approach which was used in this research was qualitative with the type of case study research. The results showed that the principal carried out an integral and comprehensive supervision plan for the teachers. The supervision planning included the preparation of a clinical supervision schedule and monitoring the readiness of teaching equipment. The approaches and methods of supervision were carried out by integrating directive, non-directive, and development approaches.The impact of such supervision was able to lead teachers to find existing deficiencies and immediately improve quality educational institutions from year to year

Abstract

A person's success in various aspects of life depends on their ability to think critically and their interpersonal intelligence. Interpersonal intelligence allows someone to interact and communicate effectively with others, build strong relationships, understand and manage their emotions well, and make well-informed decisions based on the information they analyze. The combination of these two skills not only enhances a person's professional performance but also improves their ability to lead, collaborate, and adapt to changing and complex environments. This study aims to determine the relationship between critical thinking skills and interpersonal intelligence of fourth-grade students at SD Gugus II, East Karawang District. Field observations show that students are able to analyze and complete individual tasks well, but lack communication and discussion skills when working on group tasks. This quantitative research used a sample of 268 students with data collection techniques in the form of critical thinking ability tests and interpersonal intelligence questionnaires. The data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation. The research results show a significant correlation between critical thinking skills and interpersonal intelligence with a Pearson correlation value of 0.359 and a significance of 0.000. These findings indicate that improving critical thinking skills can help enhance students' interpersonal intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the critical and creative thinking skills of elementary school students through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The background of this research is the low level of students' higher-order thinking skills, due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods that fail to actively involve students in the learning process. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design, implemented in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The population in this study was fifth-grade students of an elementary school in Indonesia. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, involving one class of 28 students. The research was conducted over two months, from February to March 2025, at SD Negeri Kutai, Indonesia. Data collection techniques included tests of critical thinking, student activity observation sheets, and creativity questionnaires. The research instruments consisted of a critical thinking test, a student activity observation sheet, and a creativity questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive and comparative techniques between cycles to measure improvements in students’ thinking skills and learning activities. The results showed that the application of PBL significantly improved students’ critical and creative thinking abilities, as indicated by increased test scores, more active participation in learning activities, and higher creativity scores in each cycle. In addition, this model also supported the strengthening of Pancasila Student Profile values, such as collaboration, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Problem-Based Learning is an effective instructional method to foster students’ character development and 21st-century skills in elementary education

Abstract

This research examines how Humanistic Learning Theory is applied in the independent curriculum to create effective IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) learning in elementary schools because the independent curriculum allows teachers to create more student-oriented learning. The humanistic approach, which emphasizes personal experience, self-actualization, and positive interpersonal relationships, is integrated into IPAS learning to create a positive learning environment, respect students' individuality, and encourage independent exploration. The research was conducted at SDN 010 Barong tongkok with 6 respondents of grade IV students, using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed a significant positive impact on learning outcomes and student development. The average LKPD score increased from 60 to 90, with some students even showing remarkable improvements reaching 20 to 42 points, demonstrating the effectiveness of this approach in improving student understanding. The percentage of students achieving KKTP increased from 16.67% to 100%, indicating success in helping students master the subject matter. In addition, observations and interviews revealed an increase in students' active participation, deeper understanding of concepts, and higher motivation to learn. Students also show positive character development such as curiosity, creativity, independence, responsibility, and concern for the environment. These findings confirm that Humanistic Learning Theory, when implemented through the Merdeka Curriculum, can build an empowering learning atmosphere and have a positive impacton students' overall development

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of grade VI students of MI Hifdzul Qur’an. The problem formulation in this study is how the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model can improve student’s learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model in improving the learning outcomes of grade VI students of MI Hifdzul Qur’an. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were a teacher and 6th grade students of MI Hifdzul Qur’an totaling 26 students. The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model was carried out with steps including a) the teacher prepares question cards and answer cards; b) students get one question card and one answer card; c) students are given the opportunity to find answer; d) students look for the appropriate card pair; e) finally conclude together the fraction and decimal material. The evaluation stage that the make a match type cooperative learning model is effective to be implemented in mathematics subjects of grade VI MI Hifdzul Qur’an. Based on the hypothesis that has been formulated, it has been proven that in the overall learning activities conducted by the researcher in terms of planning, implementation, and evaluation, the application of the make a match type cooperative learning model can effectively improve the learning outcomes of sixth-grade students at MI Hifdzul Qur’an.

Abstract

This research is an effort to implement Kuda Kincak Art as teaching material based on  ethnopedagogy to introduce and strengthen local wisdom values through social studies lessons. The goal is to benefit students by helping them understand and appreciate local cultural heritage while strengthening their social identity. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with source triangulation through observation and documentation, as well as method triangulation through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) conducted with 22 fourth-grade students at SDN 129 Gresik during social studies lessons. The data analysis method includes several stages: data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and data verification. The results of the study show that ethnopedagogy-based social studies learning through Kuda Kincak Art is effective in introducing local wisdom values to students. The learning implementation proved relevant in enhancing students' understanding of cultural, social, and economic values in their community. In conclusion, to deepen knowledge that focuses not only on theory but also on practice, further development is needed through the creation of modules that integrate various learning approaches. Collaboration with the Kuda Kincak art studio and the application of Project-Based Learning (PBL) can help develop practical skills and strengthen students' character in alignment with local wisdom values

Abstract

Damar Kurung, a traditional lantern art from Gresik Regency, East Java, is a cultural symbol that is full of local wisdom values. This study aims to examine the cultural meaning, social role, and preservation efforts of Damar Kurung in Gresik society. Using a qualitative approach, this study involved interviews with artists, craftsmen, and community leaders, as well as direct observation of local cultural activities. The results of the study indicate that Damar Kurung is not only a work of art, but also a medium for conveying moral messages, history, and the collective identity of the community. This study examines Damar Kurung, a traditional lantern art from Gresik Regency, which has a deep meaning as a symbol of local wisdom. The purpose of the study is to explore the history, philosophical meaning, and relevance of Damar Kurung in the context of modern culture and its preservation efforts. The methodology used is a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with local artists, direct observation of art exhibitions, and analysis of related literature. The results of the study indicate that Damar Kurung not only functions as a decorative element, but also as a medium of social expression that reflects the life of the Gresik community, togetherness, and traditional values. Despite the challenges of decreasing interest of the younger generation and the development of the times, preservation efforts with digital innovation and collaboration between communities, artists, and the government have shown promising results. These findings emphasize the importance of preserving Damar Kurung as a cultural heritage that has the potential to strengthen local identity and introduce Gresik's local wisdom to a wider audience
