Abstract

Education for children of Indonesian citizens (WNI) who do not have residence documents in Malaysia is a critical issue that needs attention by the government. Children of Indonesian citizens who do not have legal educational documents are constrained from obtaining their rights to education in Malaysia. One form of attention given by the government is to provide educational services for all citizens, including Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia through the Rumah Kita program and Indonesian learning studios in Malaysia. And based on information, the number of non-formal educators is still limited, both in terms of qualifications and competence. This research was conducted with the aim of developing digital media and teaching materials oriented to gamification and learning independence for non-document Indonesian children in Malaysia. The research method used is Design and Development (D&D) using the ADDIE model. At the development stage, the Multimedia Prototype learning media has feasibility that is validated by experts. This research was conducted by producing a reference digital learning resource for the fulfillment of non-documentary basic literacy of Indonesian children in Malaysia. The subjects for assessing media and learning resources were three expert lecturers consisting of elementary school literacy experts, media experts, and elementary school learning content experts. In this paper, researchers will reveal the level of feasibility of media and digital learning resources for non-documented Indonesian children in Malaysia. The three experts who were the subject of the evaluation of the products developed in general stated that these digital media and learning resources were appropriate and good for use in fulfilling the basic literacy of non-document Indonesian children in Malaysia, but there needed to be a forum in the form of a website that would be used as a form of well-administered learning resource center for each media and teaching materials.

Abstract

In one of the elementary schools in Jatinegara, fifth-grade students became the subjects of this research to investigate whether students' learning creativity can be influenced by Project-Based Learning activities using Renderforest. This research employs the Renderforest program to examine the innovative use of science and technology by elementary school students through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) activities in Grade 5. The researchers use quantitative experimental techniques and can employ quasi-experimental methods with a posttest-only nonequivalent design. All fifth-grade students constitute the research sample and are divided into three classes, namely Class VA (consisting of 27 students), Class VB (consisting of 31 students), and Class VC (consisting of 29 students). The total number of students in Grade 5 is 87. The research sample size is based on two classes: VC (with 29 students as the experimental group) and VA (with 27 students as the control group). The students' creativity level in the classroom is measured through observation instruments and questionnaires. The research data is collected as numerical data using mathematical computations, such as tests of normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. These techniques are employed to analyze the data in this research. The results of the independent sample t-test for observation indicate that the calculated t-value is greater than the tabulated t-value, with a significance level of 5% (10.292 > 2.004). Furthermore, in the questionnaire, the obtained t-value is greater than the tabulated t-value using the Independent Samples t-test at a significance level of 5% (11.254 > 2.004). It can be concluded that there is a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of student creativity, based on the results of both observation and questionnaire, as H1 is accepted, and the significance values for both instruments are 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

The development of science and the use of technology in learning encourage history learning to be able to adapt to the progress of education in the 21st century.  This study aims to determine the effect of learning readiness on critical thinking skills in students in schools under the guidance of the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT) in the Lampung province area. This study is a quantitative research with an Ex Post Facto Approach with a research sample of 194 students from all integrated Islamic schools in Lampung Province totaling six schools. The data in this study was collected through observation, interviews and the distribution of a questionnaire of 20 questions with the Likert Scale. The validity and reliability testing of the questionnaire was carried out by the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Test, the Cronbach' Alpha Test (α) and the assessment of instrument experts. The hypothesis test of this study was carried out using a Simple Linear Regression Test. The results in this study are at a significant level showing a value of 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be said that there is a positive and significant influence of Learning Readiness on students at the Integrated Islamic Network School in Lampung Province on Critical Thinking Ability by 21.5%. The test results show that the magnitude of the correlation value (R) is 0.462 in the output of the coefficient shows a constant value (a) of 23.256 and the Regression Coefficient value (b) is 0.430 so that it can be known that the regression equation is Y= 23.256 + 0.430X.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the desire to expand students' knowledge through learning media in the form of animated videos that utilize the cultural context of Betawi traditional houses, with the hope of providing a visual experience of both mathematics and the cultural aspects of traditional houses. The objective of this research is to develop animated videos using the Betawi traditional house context, specifically covering the properties of plane figures, such as squares, rectangles, trapezoids, and triangles, to determine the validity of the developed animated video media and to measure students' understanding after using the animated video media. The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The results of media expert validation from both validators obtained an average percentage of 95.8%, which falls under the "very feasible" criteria. The validation from subject matter experts received an average percentage of 82.3%, also considered "very feasible." Language learning expert validation received an average percentage of 83%, meeting the "very feasible" criteria. The overall average percentage from all validators was 87%, indicating "very feasible" validation. Empirically, the average N-gain between pretests and posttests was 0.47, categorizing as "moderate." In conclusion, animated videos can be used in mathematics education as they are considered suitable for enhancing students' understanding of mathematical concepts and can facilitate their learning process.

Abstract

The low ability of students to solve a problem greatly influences student learning outcomes. Problem solving abilities can be influenced by the learning process they experience. One of them is the lack of use of models and media to carry out learning. The TPS learning model assisted by Stick Multiplication media is an alternative that teachers can use to overcome students' low problem-solving abilities in the Mathematics subject, multiplication material. Researchers used classroom action research (PTK) as a research approach. The subjects used in this research were 27 students in class IVA at SD Negeri Depok 1. Researchers use observation, test and documentation techniques to collect data. The observation data obtained in cycle I was 60% and increased in cycle II by 85%. Meanwhile, the average test score data obtained in cycle I was 73.07%. Then the researchers made improvements in cycle II and the results increased to 86.29%. So the researcher concluded that research using the TPS learning model assisted by Stick Multiplication media could improve the ability to solve mathematical problems on multiplication material in class IVA students at SD Negeri Depok 1. Abstract

Parents play a very important role in the development of education and character. Close coordination between family and school can help shape positive character to become the nation's next generation. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parental support and the independent character of class IVA MI An Nuur Cahaya Umat students. This type of research uses correlation research. The research method used was data collection using questionnaires with checklist sheets and was guided by the Likret scale. The analysis technique used is the Pearson product moment correlation from Karl Pearson with the simple help of IBM SPSS-26. The population taken in this research was 17 class IVA students at MI An Nuur Cahaya Umat. The results of the research show that to see the relationship between two variables using parametric techniques with a paired sample t test with a significance result of (0.574) and a Pearson correlation score of (0.147) with an uncorrelated category and it can be said that there is no significant relationship between parental support and character. independence. So it can be concluded from this research that the higher the support provided by parents, the lower the independent character possessed by students. On the other hand, if parental support is low, the higher the student's independent character will be.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile now makes students more creative and innovative to shape and create themselves into students who are religious and can respect others. Accompanied by interesting learning created by teachers and the school environment as well as learning media that are popular and not boring for students. One learning method that can be used is the Pancasila smart board. This study was conducted to determine the level of validity, feasibility and strengthening of the Pancasila student profile, especially the mutual cooperation element. This research and development uses the ADDIE development model which includes stages (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluation. The instruments used in this research were observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. The research results are also documented showing that the level of validation carried out by material experts and media experts is in the very valid category. The level of eligibility carried out by the class IV homeroom teacher at SDN Tlumpu, Blitar City was categorized as very valid. Strengthening the Pancasila student profile, the mutual cooperation element is included in the strong qualifications. So there is a possibility that this media is suitable for use. as a learning medium. In this research, data was collected through questionnaires which obtained the following results: validation questionnaire for material experts and media experts with an average of 85.9%, feasibility questionnaire with a percentage of 100% and questionnaire strengthening the profile of Pancasila students with mutual cooperation elements for class students IV Tlumpu Elementary School, Blitar City 98.2% in the "Strong" category.

Abstract

An essential part of the learning process is assessment. Assessments are performed to look for information or fundamental factors pertaining to the accomplishment of learning objectives. The lack of interesting assessments causes students to get bored with the questions given, besides that teachers tend to be reluctant to innovate. Therefore, teachers are at least able to prepare test and non-test instruments. In addition, pupils' lack of interest in learning causes issues with the learning process. Due to modifications in how pupils study as a result of the pandemic that has ended, children' levels of learning motivation have declined. This is characterized by reduced discipline when attending lessons. This research aims to develop a chatroom gform assessment (Google Form with conversation features). The existence of a gform chatroom learning assessment can attract students' attention thereby improving students' critical thinking skills. The learning assessment that was developed can help students develop their capacity for critical thought. Utilizing the R&D/Research and Development research methodology, the media design model or technique used in this study is the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Tests and questionnaires were utilized as the data collection methods in this study. A total of 21 pupils from class V participated in the study. evaluated by media experts, with a feasibility percentage of 81.4. Material expert evaluation with an 86.4 percent feasibility rate. Students' critical thinking abilities improve in the "high" category, according to the comparison of their scores before and after using the gform chatroom media.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the presentation of STEAM and scientific literacy in students' books for science subjects. This research uses descriptive and qualitative research. This type of research is descriptive-qualitative research. This research uses the subjects of STEAM elements and scientific literacy, which are analyzed and appear in class V student books. The research instrument is an analysis sheet for STEAM elements and scientific literacy. We used a descriptive data analysis technique. The percentage category uses the percentage agreement value formula. This research shows that: (1) the STEAM elements that appear in student books, namely science elements, have a percentage of 47%, technology elements have a percentage of 73%, engineering elements have a percentage of 53%, art elements have a percentage of 37%, and mathematics elements have a percentage of 23%. (2) In the scientific literacy in class V students' books, the highest percentage of indicators that have appeared is attitude (83%), knowledge (36%), competence (33%), and context (23%). Therefore, students' books for science subjects include books that include elements of STEAM and scientific literacy.

Abstract

The primary objective of this article is to assess variances in student engagement and academic performance, specifically focusing on the properties of light in the field of natural science. This analysis is conducted by implementing the Discovery Learning model among fourth-grade students at Sukalarang State Elementary School, Manglid State Elementary School, and Gedurahayu State Elementary School in Sukaralang Sub-district, Sukabumi District. Employing a quasi-experimental approach, the research relies on quantitative data analysis. Findings indicate that student participation is highly commendable at Sukalarang State Elementary School, whereas at Manglid State Elementary School and Gedurahayu State Elementary School, participation is deemed satisfactory. Post-treatment, there was a noticeable enhancement in academic achievement, showcasing a significant disparity between pre-treatment and post-treatment results when employing the Discovery Learning model across the three schools. The most substantial improvement in academic achievement was observed at Sukalarang State Elementary School, followed by Manglid State Elementary School, with the smallest increase noted at Gedurahayu State Elementary School. In conclusion, the application of the Discovery Learning method is proven to elevate both student engagement and academic performance in the realm of natural science, particularly concerning the properties of light materials, for fourth-grade students.
