Abstract

This study explores the potential of mackerel tuna as a nutritious complementary food source (MPASI) due to its rich protein content and high availability, which could play a crucial role in a balanced diet for toddlers. The aim of this research is to investigate the potential of mackerel tuna as a protein source in nutritious complementary foods for breastfeeding infants. This study employs experimental and observational methods to evaluate the potential of mackerel tuna as a complementary food. The results are analyzed descriptively, and protein content analysis is conducted on mackerel tuna nuggets. The research is carried out in three stages: recipe creation, recipe modification trials, and protein content testing. Protein content analysis, conducted at the Biochemistry Laboratory of FMIPA, Universitas Sumatera Utara, using spectrophotometry on mackerel tuna nugget samples, showed a protein content of 0.35 grams per gram, indicating 35 grams of protein in 100 grams of nuggets. Processed mackerel tuna in the form of nuggets represents a promising variation of MPASI menu rich in protein content. Protein is crucial for supporting the growth and development of toddlers as it is a primary nutrient essential for physical growth, including bone and muscle development. Additionally, protein plays a role in brain development, enhancing cognitive function in toddlers.

Abstract

Adolescents are a potential age group that can be involved in various stunting prevention programs from an early age. A young woman as a prospective mother has poor nutritional status, so she will be at risk of giving birth to children who have poor nutritional status, including stunting. Health education through peer group education is a very important and urgent intervention to increase adolescent knowledge about stunting. To determine the effect of health education through peer group education on increasing knowledge of young women about stunting. The research design was quasi-experimental using a one group pretest - posttest design. A sample of 60 students at SMA Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan school used purposive sampling technique, then determined respondents according to the inclusion criteria. The results of the paired t test obtained the value of sig. (2-tailed) shows that there is a significant increase in the mean value of adolescent knowledge before and after health education intervention through peer group education. Based on the results, the p value is <0.05, which means that there is an influence of health education through peer group education on increasing teenagers' knowledge about stunting.

Abstract

Iron deficiency anemiaa type of anemia that occurs due to the body lacking iron which results in a decrease in the number of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood which is insufficient for the body's physiological needs. In Indonesia, the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia is greatest in non-pregnant adult women, around 25-48% and pregnant women around 46-92%. According to several studies, Moringa leaves (Moringa oliefera) are a source of iron. Moringa leaves (moringa oliefera) are known to have various nutritional contents. one of which is iron, protein, vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium and calcium. Moringa leaves are a plant that has quite a high iron content. The iron content in the body can help form hemoglobin and bind oxygen. This research aims to determine the potential of Moringa leaves as an anti-anemia. The reference search was carried out in the process of reviewing this article using the internet network via Pubmed, Sciencedirect and Google Scholar. National and international journals were obtained as primary data sources. From the data collected, Moringa leaves have the potential to increase hemoglobin levels in experimental white mice. The high amount of iron contained in Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) affects the increase in hemoglobin in the blood. This can be used as a reference for the use of Moringa leaves as an anti-anemia, both for prevention and treatment.

Abstract

Hypertension is defined by persistently elevated arterial blood pressure. The Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee (JNC VII) on Detection, Evalution, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure explains that hypertension is a condition where there is an increase in blood pressure in the arteries above 140/90 mmHg. The general goal of hypertension treatment is to reduce mortality and morbidity associated with hypertension. Mortality and morbidity are related to target organ damage. Reducing risk is the main goal of hypertension therapy, and the choice of drug therapy is significantly influenced by evidence showing risk reduction. The target blood pressure value recommended in JNC VII for most patients is < 140/90 mm Hg, patients with diabetes < 130/80 mm Hg and patients with chronic kidney disease < 130/80 mm Hg. One part of the therapeutic management of hypertensive patients to achieve therapeutic goals is through pharmaceutical care (Pharmaceutical care). Counseling as an implementation of the concept of pharmaceutical care (pharmaceutical care) aims to provide additional knowledge about drugs and treatment with the hope of providing patients with an understanding of the role of drugs in curing their disease. This review summarizes the results of research on the effect of pharmacist intervention on achieving blood pressure targets for hypertensive patients by searching international and national published scientific journals from the last year 2010- 2021 via electronic databases in the form of Pubmed, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar.
