Abstract

Several oil and gas distribution pipeline routes pass through a highly populated residential area. Risk assessment based on consequence analysis is being considered to determine the level of danger to improve safety. This paper focuses on modeling the consequences of gas transmission pipeline leakage by reviewing the impact of explosions and fires. The TNT method and fireball modeling determined the overpressure and heat-flux at each radius. Variations of release volume, radius, and pressure were conducted to obtain heat-flux and overpressure values in several event scenarios. Sensitivity analysis using numerical analysis was conducted to determine the most influential parameters. It was found that the radius of the accident point is the main factor affecting the resulting impact, with a contribution of 86.1% for the fire scenario and 64.5% for the explosion scenario. The explosion and fire modeling results show that the safe zone from the accident point is at a radius of more than 500 meters.

Abstract

The agricultural production process heavily relies on land preparation, which significantly impacts the outcomes. Optimal land preparation is the initial step towards achieving maximum yields. Digging planting holes provides suitable growth spaces, eliminates weeds, and improves soil physical properties. Currently, hole digging processes are predominantly done manually (using hoes, manual augers), which are inefficient, time-consuming, and result in uneven holes. Through this research, a machine was designed to swiftly and uniformly dig planting holes to support pepaya growth. The machine utilizes a Honda GX-120 gasoline engine with a maximum power of 2.6 kW at 3,600 rpm to drive a gearbox connected to a soil drilling shaft made of 1.25-inch-thick iron pipe with a 3.2 mm thickness and equipped with 4 mm thick iron screw blades. These machine components are integrated into a mainframe with wheels for ease of movement during the hole digging process. Proses produksi pertanian sangat bergantung pada persiapan lahan, yang akan mempengaruhi hasil yang didapatkan. Persiapan lahan yang optimal merupakan langkah awal untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal. Pembuatan lubang tanam dapat menyediakan tempat tumbuh yang sesuai untuk pertumbuhan, membasmi tumbuh-tumbuhan penggangu, dan memperbaiki sifat-sifat fisik tanah. Saat ini proses pelubangan tanam masih banyak dilakukan secara tradisional (menggunakan cangkul, ulir manual) yang tidak terlalu efektif dan membuuthkan waktu yang lama untuk melakukan proses pelubangan tanam, dan menghasilkan lubang tanam yang tidak seragam. Melalui peneilitian ini dirancang sebuah mesin yang dapat membuat lubang tanam secara cepat, dan seragam yang akan mendukung proses pertumbuhan pepaya. Hasil yang dirancang menggunakan mesin penggerak motor bensin Honda GX-120 dengan daya maksimal 2,6 kW pada putaran 3.600 rpm untuk menggerakkan gearbox yang terhubung dengan poros pengebor tanah dari pipa besi berukuran 1,25 inch dengan ketebalan 3,2 mm dan terdapat daun screw besi dengan ketebalan 4 mm. Elemen-elemen mesin ini disatukan dalam sebuah rangka utama yang terdapat roda, sehingga dapat mempermudah pergerakan mesin ini dalam proses pelubangan tanam.

Abstract

An Auger resembles a large Screw, but its blades are designed to lift and move material, rather than fasten it like a Screw. The primary function of an Auger is to bore holes by rotating and using its blades to cut and extract material, thus clearing the hole. Manual leaf processing remains a common practice in many areas, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive, often resulting in inconsistent product quality. This process is inefficient and incurs high operational costs, reducing profits for farmers and small industries. This research aims to design and develop a leaf-making machine with a sectional Flight Screw type. The methodology includes literature review, prototype design and development, performance testing, and data analysis. The machine has dimensions of 63 x 21.5 x 57.5 cm, using materials such as 4x4 cm angle iron, 5 mm thick IWF iron, and 15 mm thick plate iron. The semi-mechanical Screw leaf-making machine has a maximum pitch length of 165 mm, a maximum Screw diameter of 360 mm, a maximum thickness of 10 mm, and a maximum torque of 3.5 kg.m, producing high uniformity among the Screw leaves made by the semi-mechanical Auger machine. Auger menyerupai sekrup besar, namun bilahnya dirancang untuk mengangkat dan memindahkan material, bukan mengencangkan. Fungsi utama Auger adalah mengebor lubang dengan memutar dan menarik material keluar. Pengolahan daun secara manual masih umum di banyak daerah, memakan waktu dan tenaga serta menghasilkan produk berkualitas tidak konsisten. Proses ini tidak efisien dan memerlukan biaya operasional tinggi, mengurangi keuntungan petani dan industri kecil. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengembangkan mesin pembuat daun tipe Screw sectional Flight. Metodologi mencakup studi literatur, desain dan pengembangan prototipe, pengujian kinerja, serta analisis data. Mesin memiliki dimensi 63 x 21,5 x 57,5 cm, dengan bahan besi siku 4x4 cm, besi iwf tebal 5 mm, dan besi plat tebal 15 mm. Mesin semi mekanis ini memiliki kapasitas maksimal panjang pitch 165 mm, diameter daun Screw 360 mm, tebal 10 mm, torsi 3,5 kg.m, dan menghasilkan keseragaman tinggi.

Abstract

Traditional casting in multi-storey buildings necessitates specialized equipment such as concrete buckets and concrete pumps for the application of ready mix concrete. Various types of equipment have an impact on both productivity and the duration of casting. This study collected primary data by conducting field observations at the B Residence Apartment Project, with a specific focus on worker and equipment needs, tool effectiveness, and labor force. The secondary data comprised of structural photos and cost information pertaining to manpower and equipment. The study revealed that the utilization of a concrete pump incurs a cost of IDR 1,231,543 m³, but employing a concrete bucket results in a cost of IDR 1,719,141 m³. The concrete pump achieved a volume of 281.02 m³ in a duration of 1101 minutes, while the bucket achieved a volume of 47.98 m³ in a duration of 538.77 minutes. The productivity of the concrete pump was 0.255 m³/minute, whereas the productivity of the concrete bucket was 0.089 m³/minute. According to these findings, utilizing the concrete pump will greatly enhance time efficiency and decrease the incurred expenses.

Abstract

Mining activities are one of the activities that have high risks at every stage of their operational activities, so every potential hazard and risk that exists must be controlled to prevent accidents from occurring. This research aims to identify, assess, and control hazards and risks at every stage of mining activities at PT Golden Great Borneo. This research uses a semi-quantitative method, where hazard and risk assessment is carried out with a matrix of parameters of likelihood, exposure, and consequence. From the results of the research, the highest occupational safety risk in loading activities is that the distance between units is too close which can result in units crashing/nudging other units, the highest risk in hauling activities is thick dust so that visibility is less than 40 meters, and the highest risk in dumping activities is that the supervisor is in a blind spot area. Kegiatan penambangan merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang memiliki risiko tinggi pada setiap tahapan kegiatan operasional nya, sehingga setiap potensi bahaya dan risiko yang ada harus dikendalikan untuk mencegah terjadi nya kecelakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan identifikasi, penilaian, dan pengendalian bahaya dan risiko pada setiap tahapan kegiatan penambangan di PT. Golden Great Borneo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode semi kuantitatif, dimana penilaian bahaya dan risiko dilakukan dengan matrik parameter tingkat kemungkinan, paparan, dan konsekuensi. Dari hasil penelitian risiko keselamatan kerja tertinggi pada kegiatan loading adalah jarak antar unit terlalu dekat yang dapat mengakibatkan unit menabrak/menyenggol unit lain, risiko tertinggi pada kegiatan hauling debu yang tebal sehingga jarak pandang kurang dari 40 meter, dan risiko tertinggi pada kegiatan dumping adalah pengawas berada pada area blind spot.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the leading plantation commodities which has a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy. Getting the perfect coffee taste is influenced by several factors. One of these factors is the level of viscosity of the coffee drink. To measure the viscosity level of a coffee drink, you need a tool to measure the viscosity level. So in this research, a device for detecting the viscosity of coffee drinks was designed using an Arduino and a light dependent resistor (LDR) sensor. The LDR sensor is capable of showing a precision level of 92.58% in measuring light intensity. The test was carried out in three stages, namely on coffee without sugar to find the limits of thick, thin and very thin. The test results show that if the average viscosity value is above 30.7 NTU, the coffee drink is categorized as thick, the average viscosity value of 21.1 to 30.7 NTU is categorized as thin and the average viscosity value below 21.1 NTU is categorized as very runny. Kopi merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan perkebunan yang mempunyai kontribusi yang cukup nyata dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Untuk mendapatkan cita rasa kopi yang sempurna dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor. Salah satu faktor tersebut adalah tingkat kekentalan dari minuman kopi. Untuk mengukur tingkat kekentalan minuman kopi maka dibutuhkan sebuah alat pengukur tingkat kekentalan tersebut. Maka pada penelitian ini dilakukan dirancang alat pendeteksi kekentalan minuman kopi menggunakan Arduino dan sensor light dependent resistor (LDR). Sensor LDR mampu menunjukkan tingkat presisi sebesar 92,58% dalam pengukuran intensitas cahaya. Pengujian dilakukan dengan tiga tahapan yaitu pada kopi tanpa gula untuk mencari batas kental, encer, sangat encer. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kekentalan di atas 30,7 NTU maka minuman kopi dikategorikan kental, nilai rata-rata kekentalan 21,1 sampai 30,7 NTU dikategorikan encer dan nilai rata-rata kekentalan di bawah 21,1 NTU dikategorikan sangat encer.

Abstract

The high level of air pollution is partly triggered by emissions from fossil-fuel-powered vehicles. Therefore, the presence of environmentally friendly vehicles is greatly needed. On the other hand, the availability of conventional vehicles cannot be immediately eliminated. One alternative is to convert conventional vehicles into electric vehicles. This study aims to assess and implement the process of converting conventional motorcycles into electric motorcycles as a more environmentally friendly transportation solution. The main components used are several parts from conventional motorcycles, a BLDC electric motor as the main drive, an electronic control unit, and a LiFePO4 battery as the energy source. The study was conducted using the R&D method. The result of the study is the creation of a converted electric motorcycle with a 3KW BLDC hub motor and a 48V 15 Ah LiFePO4 battery, with an average range of 30 km per full battery charge and a maximum speed of 56.7 km/h. Tingginya polusi udara salah satunya dipicu oleh emisi gas buang kendaraan berbahan bakar fosil. Oleh karenanya kehadiran akan kendaraan yang ramah lingkungan sangat dibutuhkan. Di lain sisi, ketersediaan kendaraan konvensional tidak bisa langsung dihilangkan. Salasatu alternatifnya adalah melakukan konversi dari kendaraan konvensional menjadi kendaraan listrik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mengimplementasikan proses konversi sepeda motor konvensional menjadi sepeda motor listrik sebagai solusi transportasi yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Komponen utama yang digunakan adalah beberapa part dari sepeda motor konvensional, motor listrik BLDC sebagai penggerak utama, unit pengendali elektronik dan baterai jenis LiFePO4 sebagai sumber energi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode R & D. Hasil penelitian berupa terwujudnya sebuah sepeda motor listrik konversi dengan motor hub BLDC 3KW dan baterai Lifepo4 48V 15 Ah, dengan kemampuan jarak tempuh rata-rata 30 Km sekali pengisian full baterai dan kecepatan maksimum 56,7 Km/Jam.

Abstract

PT. X is a company producing 3 kg LPG gas. The absence of a good OHS system and the many cases of work accidents are problems that must be resolved. Therefore, this research aims to identify potential hazards in the production area, assess risks, and implement risk control using the HIRARC method based on the Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard for Risk Management 13 scale (AS/NZS 4360). The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study show that there are 13 potential hazards, 11 low risk categories, 3 medium risk categories, and 2 high risk categories. The form of control that can be done by applying good and correct PPE, changing manual conveyor equipment to automatic conveyors and providing google forms to determine worker readiness. PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang memproduksi gas elpiji 3 kg. Belum terdapatnya sistem K3 dengan baik serta banyaknya kasus kecelakaan kerja menjadi suatu masalah yang harus diselesaikan. Oleh sebab itu penelitian ini memiliki tujuan guna melakukan identifikasi terhadap potensi bahaya yang ada di area produksi, mengukur risiko, serta menerapkan pengendalian risiko mempergunakan metode HIRARC berdasarkan skala Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard for Risk Management 13 (AS/NZS 4360). Jenis penelitian yang dipergunakan yakni deskriptif kualitatif. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukan ada 13 potensi bahaya, 11 kategori low risk, 3 kategori medium risk, serta 2 kategori high risk. Bentuk pengendalian yang mampu dilakukan dengan penerapan APD yang baik dan benar, pergantian peralatan conveyor manual menjadi conveyor otomatis dan memberikan google formulir untuk mengetahui kesiapan pekerja.

Abstract

This research aims to design a coffee peeling machine with a capacity of 100 kg/hour to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the coffee peeling process, which is currently done manually by Indonesian farmers with limited results. The machine is equipped with a motor, V-belt, pulley, peeling rollers, and a hopper. Test results show an average peeling time of 35 seconds per kilogram, with a capacity of 102.8 kg/hour and an efficiency of 95%. Its innovative design prevents coffee bean buildup, ensures smooth flow, and is easy to use and maintain. This machine not only enhances productivity and coffee quality but also reduces labor costs. By using this machine, farmers can speed up the peeling process and be more efficient in meeting market demands. Further development is recommended to improve material quality, optimize the design, and provide training for farmers on machine use. Penelitian ini merancang mesin pengupas kulit kopi berkapasitas 100 kg/jam untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas pengupasan kopi, yang selama ini dilakukan secara manual oleh petani di Indonesia dengan hasil yang terbatas. Mesin ini dilengkapi motor penggerak, V-belt, pulley, roller pengupas, dan hopper. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan waktu pengupasan rata-rata 35 detik per kilogram dengan kapasitas 102,8 kg/jam dan efisiensi sebesar 95%. Desain inovatifnya mencegah penumpukan biji, memastikan aliran yang lancar, serta mudah digunakan dan dirawat. Mesin ini tidak hanya meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas kopi, tetapi juga mengurangi biaya tenaga kerja. Dengan penggunaan mesin ini, petani dapat mempercepat proses pengupasan dan lebih efisien dalam memenuhi permintaan pasar. Pengembangan lebih lanjut disarankan untuk meningkatkan kualitas material, optimasi desain, dan pelatihan penggunaan bagi petani.

Abstract

Mid-drive electric bikes have become the favorite choice of many riders thanks to their balanced weight distribution and superior ability to traverse hilly terrain. However, the price of this type of bicycle is still quite high compared to hub drive electric bicycles. This research aims to design an innovative bracket that allows the integration of the hub drive motor from the Ninebot ES into a mid-drive driver. By redesigning this bracket, we hope to improve the bike's performance and efficiency, especially on hills. Bracket design is carried out by considering the dimensions of the motorbike, chainring position, and structural strength to withstand the resulting force and torque. Prototype test results show good stability when driving straight and the ability to reach a maximum speed of 30 km/h on flat roads. Meanwhile, on roads with a slope of 10°, this electric bicycle reaches a maximum speed of 10 km/hour. This bracket design offers an attractive solution for users who want to improve the performance of their electric bike without having to invest in an expensive mid-drive BLDC motor. Further development could involve adding a gearbox to increase torque while reducing motor power consumption. Sepeda listrik mid-drive telah menjadi pilihan favorit banyak pengendara berkat distribusi berat yang seimbang dan kemampuannya yang unggul untuk melintasi medan berbukit. Meskipun demikian, harga sepeda jenis ini masih cukup tinggi dibandingkan sepeda listrik hub drive. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bracket inovatif yang memungkinkan integrasi motor hub drive dari Ninebot ES menjadi penggerak mid-drive. Dengan mendesain bracket ini, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan performa dan efisiensi sepeda, terutama pada tanjakan. Perancangan bracket dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan dimensi motor, posisi chainring, dan kekuatan struktural untuk menahan gaya serta torsi yang dihasilkan. Hasil pengujian prototipe menunjukkan stabilitas yang baik saat melaju lurus dan kemampuan mencapai kecepatan maksimum 30 km/jam di jalan datar. Sedangkan untuk jalan dengan kemiringan 10°, sepeda listrik ini mencapai kecepatan maksimum 10 km/jam. Desain bracket ini menawarkan solusi yang menarik bagi pengguna yang ingin meningkatkan performa sepeda listrik mereka tanpa harus berinvestasi pada motor BLDC mid-drive yang mahal. Pengembangan lebih lanjut dapat menambahkan gearbox untuk meningkatkan torsi sekaligus mengurangi konsumsi daya motor.
