Abstract

The use of rear spoilers on MPV vehicles is often used by the public to get an aerodynamic vehicle body design. The understanding of the function of using rear spoiler accessories in the community is still low, so it is necessary to study the characteristics of air flow in aerodynamics. This study aims to determine the flow characteristics of MPV type vehicles with standard and longer rear spoiler installation. This research was conducted in a Subsonic Open Circuit wind tunnel with test section dimensions (365 x 365 x 1250) mm. The flow characteristics were observed experimentally that passed through the model surface resembling the first generation Toyota Avanza MPV with a ratio of 1:20 with variations of the standard and longer rear spoiler installation. Measurement of the flow velocity profile behind the vehicle test model was carried out at an X/L ratio of 0.32 from the leading edge with a speed adjusted to the Reynolds number value of 1.96 x 105. The flow characteristic observed was the pressure distribution (Cp) on the center line of the top surface. and under the test vehicle model, the flow momentum deficit behind the test vehicle model, the lift pressure coefficient (CLP), and the drag pressure coefficient (CDP). The results of data collection show that the installation of a standard and longer rear spoiler relatively increases the Cp value, the flow momentum deficit behind the vehicle model, the lift pressure coefficient (CLP) value and decreases the drag pressure coefficient (CDP) value. The biggest increase was in the installation of a longer rear spoiler with an increase in the Cp value of 4.7%, an increase in the flow momentum deficit by 1.27%, an increase in the CLP value by 0.11% and a decrease in the CDP value by 0.06% compared to the vehicle model without using a rear spoiler.

Abstract

Accidents often occur with several influencing factors and often repeat at a point which is often referred to as an accident-prone area. Accident-prone areas must be supported by the design of a road equipment geographic information system to make it easier to find out road equipment around the place. Balangan Regency is one of the areas in the province of South Kalimantan, it is in a strategic position because it is a crossing route between regions and the route to the province of East Kalimantan. To improve service to existing traffic, one of the efforts made is to improve the quality of road equipment. The problems that occur in the data and management system at the Balangan Regency Transportation Office can now be said to be bad and not up to date. In addition, there are many roads that are not equipped with signs and in accident-prone areas do not have adequate road equipment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the need for signs on roads in Balangan Regency and the needs for road equipment in accident-prone areas. The results of the analysis are displayed using the Geographic Information System method in the ArcGIS 10.3 application, the results of which are to facilitate the Department of Transportation in carrying out maintenance and decision making in planning road equipment as an effort to improve transportation services and safety in Balangan Regency.

Abstract

Public transportation was an activity of transferring people or goods from one place to another using a public transportation system to pay a certain amount of money. In the Bali public transport provided by the government is trans metro dewata, which is an attempt by the government to reduce the use of private vehicles. Business screens allow one bus ride to hold as many as one to two passengers. The aim of this study is to understand the quality of the metro bus service of the dewata particularly during the elections, so as to give public an idea of the quality of the metro bus service of the dewata. Based on the fourth parameters conducted on the quality of service according to the department of transportation, lectures on metro metro bus services have been very good, and it can inform the public that the quality of bus service when the pandemic pandemic has not dropped.

Abstract

Safety is an important part in using motor vehicles and public transportation, where in 2019 the road transport mode ranks third after the flight mode and cruise mode with a contribution of 24.9%, for that safety can be a safe culture in travel. The purpose of the study was to determine the perception of society related to SWDKLLJ and the level of community satisfaction. The research method is using qualitative descriptive approach with data collection using Gay and Diehl data collection techniques with a sample of 28 respondents, using google form. This data collection was given randomly to respondents and secondary data was obtained from literature and research results to support this study. The results showed that (1) knowledge about iruan SWDKLLJ majority of respondents do not know as much as 51.9%, (2) utilizing the mandatory donation of road traffic accident funds (SWDKLLJ) the majority of respondents are not as much as 88.9%, (3) other insurance funding as a replacement, the majority of respondents answered No 44%, (4) Officer services in making claims using SWDKLLJ, the majority of respondents answered quite satisfied 44%. Further studies are needed to reveal the public satisfaction of swdkllj contribution services and highway safety protection policies.

Abstract

The death rate on the highway is increasing every year. One of the factors that adds to the death toll on the highway is the driver of a motorized vehicle driving more than the permitted speed. Speedometer is an important device in vehicles related to safety factors, because a good driver always pays attention to the speed of the vehicle he is driving with the condition of the road or terrain traversed. Therefore, in the kir test according to article 53 paragraph (1) of the LLAJ Law, there is a speedometer testing section. However, the implementation of portable vehicle speed measurement has not yet been implemented. The purpose of this study was to produce a prototype of a portable motorized vehicle speed measuring instrument based on Arduino. The output of this prototype design was the result of the vehicle speed reading that was carried out during the roving test. The main components of the prototype consisted of the Arduino Uno Microcontroller as the main control system, proximity sensor as a reader, bluetooth HC-05 as a data sender to Android, an AMOLED LCD display and an Android application via a smartphone to display the speed reading results. The prototype test gives a slight difference in the results with the speedometer in the vehicle and the speed on the Muller Bem. In this case, the speed shown by the prototype is still within the permissible limits, namely -10% to +15% of the Muller Bem tool.

Abstract

Infrastructure development play important role in order to develope the tourism sector. Tana Toraja is a potential region to be developed on tourism sector. One of the problem is insufficient of road infrastructure for both connectivity and accesbility issues. This study aimed to give recommendations of road safety as to be technical consideration for Directorate General Highways to budgeting State Budget (APBN) in regional road in tana Toraja. This study was conducted on 5 link of regional roads that were considered as the potential to support the tourism sector. Qualitative approach is used as methodology trough data collection and information for analysis. The results show that all of the road link observed has geometric problems (i.e substandard road) and potential to cause accidents, such as road grade more than 10%, width of lane less than 3 meters, inadequate road shoulders, small radius of curve, and hazard objects on the side of the road side. Recommendations to fullfillment road standards must be applied for both the design stage and construction stage.

Abstract

The habit of pedestrians in using the road when crossing the road is in the spotlight because it will cause traffic jams so that they are prone to accidents. No road user wants to experience such an accident, whether it is a minor accident or an accident that is fatal and leads to death. Pelican crossings are made to minimize pedestrian accidents, but this facility does not guarantee that accidents will not occur. Problems arise when pressing the crossing button will create congestion and noise due to the notification sound of the crossing. When someone wants to cross it will result in the accumulation of vehicles around because they are waiting for irregular pedestrians to cross. The purpose of this research is to design a pedestrian Puffin Crossing advance simulation that is more adaptive and safe. The research was conducted by making a prototype using a microcontroller and several sensors which will later be used as a medium for interaction between drivers and pedestrians. The results of the prototype research can work well and in accordance with the function of each component. The recommended minimum number of pedestrians is 4 waders, the minimum required waiting time is 5 seconds, while the crossing time is conditioned based on pedestrian sensor readings at the zebra cross.

Abstract

There has been a significant increase in transportation facilities in the city of Manado which has affected the level of traffic congestion to date and has resulted in very high social costs. Indirectly it affects the increase in traffic problems, one of which is traffic accidents. The purpose of this research is to find appropriate alternative solutions for the community to reduce accidents and make efforts to increase traffic safety in the city of Manado. This research was made using an exploratory quantitative research methodology with a triangulation model that examines phenomena based on the interpretation of descriptive statistical data, observation as well as documentation and field surveys. The results of the analysis show that there are 6 accident-prone road sections in Manado City, namely Jalan AA Maramis, Jalan Ring Road I, Jalan Sam Ratulangi, Jalan RW Monginsidi, Jalan Piere Tendean, and Jalan RE Martadinata. Adequate street light facilities are needed and there is a need to improve the lights so that they are not covered by vegetation on several roads, especially roads which are prone to accidents.

Abstract

This study aims to know the perception of the winner about implementation of the Pioneer Student selection for Traffic and Road Transport Safety at the district / city, provincial and national levels. Data collection was carried out through online interviews with google forms to the finalists of the national-level pioneer students who were also winners at the provincial and district/city levels. The analysis used in this study is a descriptive analysis method. A very attractive impression of implementation at the national level relatively higher than the implementation at the provincial level and at the district / city level. There was still less interesting material and / or speakers and time constraints caused the delivery of the material to be less than optimal. The benefits that the finalists get from the selection of pioneer students at all levels of organizing are increased insight into traffic safety and road transport and the improvement of traffic behavior. There were still few scientific works from the pioneer student winners that were followed up and their function as a Traffic and Road Transport safety ambassador for high school students has not been properly accommodated.

Abstract

The railroad crossing is the intersection of a road with a railroad track. Accidents are the biggest problem at railroad crossings. Factors that cause accidents at railroad crossings, namely breaking through crossing gates, besides that the lack of safety facilities is one of the causes of accidents. To avoid this, it is necessary to review the improvement of safety at railroad crossings. This research on the JPL 75 KM 31+368 railroad crossing uses an analysis of calculating the average daily traffic volume multiplied by the volume of trains that pass, which is 85,407.5 smpk. These results already exceed the technical standard of railroad crossings, namely the volume daily traffic (LHR) is multiplied by the number of train trips that pass per day which is between 12,500-35,000 smpk, then the crossing does not need to be changed to a non-level crossing. Efforts to improve safety that need to be carried out by JPL 75 KM 31 + 368 from the direction of Kalitengah are in the form of safety signs in accordance with the guidelines of the technical standards of safety for a railroad crossing.
