Fokus publishes original research or theoretical papers about teaching and learning in Guidance and Counseling study program of IKIP Siliwangi Bandung on current science issues, namely: Guidance and Counseling educator in elementary, secondary and high school level. Guidance and Counseling observers and researchers. Educational decisions maker on regional and national level. We recommend classroom action research, qualitative, descriptive, or quantitative. We may process manuscript of didactic development research (DDR) or research and development (RnD). Our publication could be research on teaching method, an experiment of teaching aid or media, and even effectiveness of lesson study. We accepted any manuscript derived from research of Guidance and Counseling in Indonesia. We will not process manuscript from research approach of school management.

Abstract

This study aims to find out online-based group guidance services with role play techniques on students' academic self-efficacy at MTs Al-Badar Gununghalu. This research is based on student problems that occur in schools. There are some students with low academic self-efficacy. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The type of approach used is a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used in this study are interviews and observation. The subjects in the study were 1 teacher of counseling and 6 students who had low academic self-efficacy. Students who have low academic self-efficacy will affect their learning process. This may affect students to be lazy to study, high anxiety in doing assignments, low self-efficacy towards learning, and a sense of giving up quickly on learning. students are quite effective in overcoming students' academic self-efficacy problems, because it has a significant positive impact on students' academic self-efficacy.Keywords: : Group Guidance, Role Play, Academic Self-Efficacy

Abstract

This study is aimed at knowing the description of group guidance services on low assertive behavior in students. Assertive behavior is very influential on the social life of students if students have low  assertive behavior then they must be treated immediately in the form online-based group guidance services. This research was conducted at MA Al-Mukhtariyah Mande. The subject were 3 students of class XI who had low assertive behavior as a results of the rekommendations of guidance and counseling teachers at school. In ths study, the approach used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection techniques in this study are interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed that students after being given online-based group guidance services got a good response and changes in behavior that were shown in accordance with the aspect shown in assertive behavior, such as being able to express feelings comportably, act according to their own interests, defend themselves, and not deny the right of others.Keywords: group guidance, assertive

Abstract

The background of this research is to find out the description of the adjustment of VIII grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Soreang. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The data collection techniques that I used in this research were interviews and documentation. The primary subjects in this study were BK teachers and class VIII students at SMP Negeri Soreang, while the secondary subjects were homeroom teachers for class VIII A. The results of the research conducted on the four students at SMP Negeri 2 Soreang showed that the four students had low self-adjustment. The factors and causes of the four students' low self-adjustment are different, but the classroom environment is the main point in the four students' self-adjustment.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the description of online group guidance with discussion techniques through zoom meetings for students who have low social skills. The method used is descriptive qualitative. This research uses analysis with an inductive approach where the data in this study is descriptive data which is generally in the form of words and pictures. Data collection tools using data triangulation, namely interviews, observations and documentation. The subjects of this study were students of class XI in Vocational High School, the subjects in this study were 2 people who were indicated to have low social skills. Based on the results of the study, it showed the application of online group guidance with discussion techniques through zoom meetings on students' social skills, when the initial service was implemented, students looked enthusiastic and responded well to activities so that the service implementation was completed. The response shown by students in group guidance activities through discussion techniques indicated that students have low social skills, it was found that the application of discussion techniques in online group guidance through zoom meetings was quite effective.Keywords: Social Skills, Discussion Techniques, Online Group Guidance

Abstract

This study aims to describe the negative self-image caused by the low self-concept in students of SMAN 1, Lareh Sago Halaban District, Lima Puluh Kota District. This research uses the literature review method. The results show that a person's self image can become unbalanced and distorted or unhealthy for many reasons. The lack of students' academic skills and abilities makes them insecure so that they display a negative self-image from an indication of their low self-concept. Therefore the solution for this is to provide guidance and counseling services by BK teachers who work in school. From this phenomenon and various solutions applied by several studies, the most appropriate and effective solution is to provide reality therapy counseling services with the aim of paying attention on the behavior of the counselee. A succesfull personality is achieved by te desire of the individual himself to change it, of course not forgetting self awareness and responsibility.  Keywords: Body- Image, Self-Concept, Reality Therapy Counseling

Abstract

Classical online-based guidance services at SMP/MTs are one of the types of guidance and counseling services carried out daring the COVID-19 pandemic which requires each individual to study at home, work at home, and worship at home by obeying all the regulations that have been applied. by the government. This study aims to determine the continuity of providing online-based classical guidance services at MTs Al-Bidayah. The approach used instudy thisis a qualitative approach, with the type of qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation and interviews. The subjects used in this study were BK teachers who held students of MTs Al-Bidayah class VIII. The results found that the provision of online-based classical services can be done more interestingly than usual by using the expository method which in the service process provides information on the definitions, principles and concepts of service materials and provides examples of problem solving exercises in the form of lectures, demonstrations , questions and answers and assignments. Keywords: Classical Guidance Service, Career selection.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain results from the implementation of online-based group guidance with discussion techniques for students of SMP Negeri 2 Soreang who have low interest in learning English, student responses after being given online-based group guidance for students of SMP Negeri 2 Soreang who have low interest in learning English. , as well as the problems faced by BK teachers and students when implementing online-based group guidance services for studentsof SMP Negeri 2 Soreang who have low interest in learning English. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach where observations, interviews and documentation are used for data collection. In this study, the research population was taken from class VIII-H of SMP Negeri 2 Soreang, totaling 38 students, by taking a sample of 6 students. Where before the service was given, students seemed not enthusiastic about participating in learning, less active and always late in collecting assignments. The online-based group guidance was carried out in four meetings. The discussion at the first meeting discussed broad interests, the second meeting discussed interest in learning, the third meeting discussed the problems faced by students and their solutions, and at the fourth meeting evaluation and follow-up were carried out. The results showed a good impact where students were eager to learn, active in learning and discussion and able to be on time in submitting assignments.Keywords: Group Guidance, group discussion technique, student interest in english learning

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the description of students' social skills SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Kadungora Kabupaten Garut. The method used is descriptive quantitative research with a social skills scale data collection tool. The results showed that social learning was based on moderate categories. Social skills according to gender shown by the social abilities of women are better than the social skills of male students. The results of social skills research in terms of aspects of social skills found aspects of self-understanding are in there is a low category, whereas communication of social interaction and empathy ability depends on the medium category .Keywords: Social skills, students

Abstract

The purpose to be achieved in this study is to describe the prosocial behavior of students at SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in this study were students of SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi. Subjects taken were 24 people. The data in this study were obtained through a closed questionnaire. The results illustrate that from the six aspects of prosocial behavior in general it can be described that the prosocial behavior of students of SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi is in the high category, especially in the aspects of helping, generosity and cooperation with a percentage of more than 48%.Keywords: Prosocial Behavior, Junior High School Students.

Abstract

 AbstractThis research aims to find out how group guidance services with discussion techniques increase the self-confidence of class XI high school students during the covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were six students of SMAN 1 Batujajar class XI IPS 2 who had low self-confidence. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. Based on the results of research that has been done, there are changes in students before and after the implementation of group guidance services with discussion techniques provided by the guidance and counseling teacher. The conclusion of this study is that group guidance services with effective discussion techniques can help students increase the self-confidence of class XI high school students during the covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: Group guidance, Discussion Techniques, Self-Confidence
