Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of career adaptability and parental career-related behavior on career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) in Vocational High School (SMK) students. CDMSE is an important psychological factor that determines students' readiness to face career transitions. This study used a quantitative approach with an associative design. Data were obtained from 298 eleventh-grade students in three vocational high schools in Gajahmungkur District through cluster sampling techniques, using an adapted Likert scale instrument, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that career adaptability had a positive and significant effect on CDMSE (B = 0.285; t = 6.704; p < 0.001), while parental career-related behavior had a negative and significant effect on CDMSE (B = −0.118; t = −2.558; p = 0.011). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influenced CDMSE (F = 23.026; p < 0.001) with a contribution of 13.5%. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening career adaptability through career guidance services in schools and developing parental education programs that encourage supportive involvement and respect student autonomy in the career decision-making process.

Abstract

The high use of social media, especially the TikTok platform among students, has led to a tendency for maladaptive socialcomparison, so appropriate interventions are needed in counseling guidance services. This study uses the Cognitive BehavioralTherapy (CBT) approach with Cognitive Restructuring techniques in group counseling services. The aim of this study was toevaluate how well cognitive method-based group counseling interventions can reduce these tendencies. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design and sampling using purposive sampling techniques. The datacollection technique uses a maladaptive social comparison scale through pre-test and post-test. The average pre-test scores of the control and experimental groups were 103.83 and 104.00, respectively. The post-test results showed that the average score of theexperimental group dropped to 67.33, while the control group was 120.17. H0 was rejected because the results of the paired samplet-test of the experimental group showed a significance score of less than 0.001 (p < 0.05). These findings show that the interventionsgiven are effective in reducing maladaptive in students.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and synthesize the characteristics, main components, and factors that influence the effectiveness of counseling interventions in improving students' mental health. The research uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach referring to the PRISMA flow to select relevant articles. A total of 21 scientific articles that met the inclusion criteria were systematically analyzed using data extraction and thematic analysis techniques. The research results show that effective counseling interventions have the main characteristics of a holistic approach, based on initial assessment, and supported by adequate counselor competence. In addition, interventions are also flexible in form and media, including the use of technology and culture-based approaches. Factors that influence the effectiveness of interventions include individual factors (self-compassion, coping, traumatic experiences), academic factors (learning involvement), socio-cultural factors (social support and stigma), and system factors (service access and monitoring). Overall, the research findings confirm that counseling interventions must be designed in an integrative and contextual manner to achieve optimal results. This research contributes to the development of more comprehensive and evidence-based counseling intervention models in educational contexts.

Abstract

Education is a fundamental right of every citizen, including children with special needs, who require educational services tailored to their individual characteristics and needs. However, the implementation of inclusive education in Indonesia still faces various challenges, such as limited teacher understanding, inadequate facilities, and the lack of optimal integration between the education system and interventions provided. This study aims to analyze the education system for children with special needs and to examine general intervention strategies that support their development. The method used is a literature review by analyzing relevant scientific sources. The findings indicate that the education system for children with special needs has evolved from segregation to integration and inclusive models, although its implementation remains suboptimal. Furthermore, appropriate, planned, and individualized interventions play a crucial role in optimizing children’s academic, social, and independence development. Therefore, collaboration among policymakers, educators, families, and communities is essential to improve the quality of educational services and interventions for children with special needs.

Abstract

Senior-Junior Violence in boarding school settings has long been normalised as an established part of institutional culture, yet its cumulative impact on junior students’ psychological well-being and academic engagement warrants systematic intervention. This study examined whether  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) delivered through group guidance could reduce senior-junior violence among students at MAS MUQ Pagar Air. A pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach was employed. Participants were seven eleventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling on the basis of their pretest scores, which fell in the moderate-to-high range a 51 item Likert scale instrument (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,983). Four structured Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) group sessions were conducted, targeting maladaptif cognitions that sustain domination behavior. Posttest scores for all seven participants shifted from moderate or high categories to low. The Paired Sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0,000 (p ≤ 0,05), with a mean score reduction of 32,70 points, confirming a statistically significant reduction in senior-junior violence behavior. These findings suggest that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)-based group guidance is an effective counseling strategy for addressing senior-junior violence and can be integrated into school counseling programs as a structured preventive and corrective measure.

Abstract

Assertive behavior is an important social skill that helps students express their opinions, feelings, and needs appropriately without neglecting the rights of others. However, preliminary observations showed that some students still had difficulties expressing their opinions and defending their rights confidently. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of modeling techniques in improving the assertive behavior of grade X students at MAS Ulumul Qur’an Banda Aceh. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The participants consisted of seven students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an assertive behavior questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, N-Gain, and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the mean assertive behavior score increased from 46,42 in the pretest to 87,68 in the posttest. The paired sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0,000 (<0,05), while the N-Gain score of 0,7564 (75,64%) was categorized as effective. Therefore, modeling techniques were found to be effective in improving students’ assertive behavior

Abstract

Anxiety is a natural emotional response to certain situations; however, it can become maladaptive when it arises excessively and interferes with students’ learning activities and social life. Group counseling utilizes group dynamics as a medium for sharing experiences, providing emotional support, and fostering collaborative learning in addressing psychological problems. This study aims to describe the implementation of group counseling based on the theory of Ibnu Sina in controlling students’ anxiety. Ibn Sina’s theory is used as a conceptual foundation emphasizing the balance between the soul, intellect, and body, as well as the importance of managing thoughts and emotions in maintaining mental health. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects are Qur’an-memorizing students who experience anxiety. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that prior to participating in group counseling, students exhibited symptoms of anxiety such as excessive worry, difficulty concentrating, and emotional tension.
