Abstract

This research aims to explore the potential and challenges of implementing microlearning in Indonesian as a learning method that suits the needs of Generation Z. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach involving 60 participants, consisting of university students and high school students in the Banyuwangi area, selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and direct observation, then analyzed using thematic analysis and descriptive statistics. The results showed that microlearning has great potential in increasing Generation Z's learning engagement. As many as 80% of participants felt that short learning sessions helped them stay focused, while another 85% liked the flexibility offered by microlearning platforms. Observations also showed high engagement when interactive media such as quizzes and short videos were used. However, the study also uncovered some key challenges, including difficulties in simplifying complex material, internet access constraints in remote areas, and the need for greater learning independence. The discussion highlighted the importance of training educators to develop effective microlearning materials, technological solutions to overcome the digital divide, and the integration of gamification strategies to increase learning motivation. In addition, the development of Indonesian-based microlearning content is a great opportunity to increase the relevance of learning. This research concludes that with the right adaptation and support, microlearning can be an innovative learning solution for Generation Z in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of non-technological working memory interventions in improving the verbal working memory capacity of a third-grade student, who experiences learning difficulties in reading comprehension and maintaining focus in class. The research employed a qualitative approach using a single-case reversal design (A1BA2) over 12 sessions. The intervention focused on enhancing D's phonological loop function through face-to-face, non-digital working memory training exercises, such as the odd one out and listening recall tasks. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with parents and teachers, as well as non-participatory observations in both school and home environments. Data analysis involved comparing pre- and post-intervention performance to identify changes in working memory abilities. The findings indicate that this intervention can enhance verbal working memory capacity, supporting improvements in reading comprehension and focus. This suggests that non-technological, easily implementable interventions can provide a practical solution for enhancing cognitive abilities in children, particularly those from low socioeconomic backgrounds, with potential long-term benefits for academic performance.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the transformation of Gen Z teachers by highlighting the problem of improving social and personality competencies and identifying the strategies they use. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interview techniques with five Gen Z teachers in Lubuklinggau City who were selected using purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model which includes the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The findings of this study reveal that Gen Z teachers face problems such as lack of self-awareness, dependence on technology, minimal training, and limited time and workload. As a result, Gen Z teachers are at risk of experiencing gaps in communication skills and emotional intelligence, being less prepared to face challenges involving collaboration in the workplace, and in their social lives. The strategies used by Gen Z teachers in their social and personality development include self-assessment, self-development, and utilization of technology. They also continue to learn and adapt in developing their personality and social interactions, in order to improve the quality of their teaching and social relationships.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of a flipbook-based local history teaching module. This research used the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Banjarmasin and SMA Negeri 10 Banjarmasin. Field trials were carried out in class XI, totaling 30 students each. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Meanwhile, data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The local history teaching module developed was declared very feasible to use. This assessment is based on the average score of the material and media experts. Material experts 1 and 2 gave scores of 4.69 and 4.76, while media experts 1 and 2 gave scores of 4.74 and 4.66. The overall score is in the very feasible category, indicating the good quality of the module to be used in learning. This local history teaching module is expected to help teachers in delivering local history material more interestingly and effectively, and can increase students' interest and understanding of local history.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability to think reflectively in problem solving from a gender perspective. The approach used in this study was qualitative descriptive with the aim of describing in depth the differences in reflective thinking patterns between men and women. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations involving Yogyakarta State Elementary School students as participants. The data obtained from the tests and interviews analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that women tend to use a more holistic reflective thinking approach that involves evaluating social and emotional impacts and considering long-term solutions. In contrast, men tend to use a more pragmatic approach, focusing on quick and efficient solutions and relying on personal experience in problem solving. These findings showed that there were significant differences between men and women in how they think reflectively, which can affect how they solve problems. Therefore, this study suggests that a more inclusive learning approach be designed to accommodate these differences, in order to improve reflective thinking skills in both genders.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective STS-based science e-module to enhance critical thinking skills in supporting the science learning process. This research used Research and Development with a ADDIE model. The subject of this research were seventh grade students at MTsN 1 Jember. The data collection is done using primary and secondary data. Primary data include validity score, practicality score, and effectiveness score. Secondary data include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used in this research were validity test, practicality test, and effectiveness test. The results of the validity analysis show a category of very valid with a percentage of 89.4% based on validation sheets covering content and construct validation. The practicality analysis obtained from the implementation during the science learning process achieved a convenient category with a percentage of 92%. With an N-Gain score of 0.66 and a medium category, the e-module's effectiveness in assessing the development of critical thinking skills was determined by the results of the pre-test and post-test. Additionally, the effectiveness analysis data from student response questionnaires show a very positive category with a percentage of 83%. Thus, an STS-based science E-Module effectively enhances critical thinking skills and suitable for junior high school learning by connecting science concepts with real-world phenomena.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Joyful Learning method in drum lessons at Favore Music and to identify effective strategies in increasing student motivation and engagement. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a participatory method, this study involved four drum students at Favore Music, Bandung City, through observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while method triangulation was applied to ensure research validity. The results showed that the application of Joyful Learning through rhythmic exploration, improvisation, and dynamic interaction was able to significantly increase student engagement. Learning strategies such as the use of backing tracks, variations in sticking exercises with various objects, and the challenge of tempo changes and fill-ins create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience. This approach not only deepens students' musical understanding but also increases their confidence and consistency in practicing. This study contributes to innovation in private music education and provides new insights into the effectiveness of experiential learning in improving the quality of drum learning.
