Abstract

The focus of this research was to analyse the extent of flouting maxim of Grice’s Cooperative principle done by Chris Martin, vocalist of the band Coldplay and analyse the types of flouting Grice’s Cooperative principle used by guests and their reasons, this interview hosted by NajwaShihab in the Mata Najwa program which is a highly interactive talk show entitled "Exclusive Interview with Chris Martin of Coldplay | Mata Najwa". The research uses a descriptive qualitative and quantitative method since the data is presented as words and numbers. The reason for choosing this talk show is because Chris Martin is an English native speaker, while NajwaSihab is an Indonesian native speaker, making it possible to compare how Grice's Cooperative principle is often flouted during interviews due to language and cultural differences. Inan exclusive interview as shown in this study, 11 utterances were found during the interview, including 4 utterances that flouting maxim quantity, 4 utterances that flouting maxim quality, 2 utterances that flouting maxim relevance and 1 utterance that flouting maxim manner. From the data of flouting maxim, that also found several reasons why Chris do the flouting maxim, these reasons areconfusing in giving answer, friendliness, respectful, confidentiality/hiding the truth and Showing empathy. And the most common reason for flouting maxim was found when Chris flouted maxim quantity and quality. As this was a formal interview, the flouting Grice’s Cooperative principle was done by politeness strategies. Despite the flouting Grice’s Cooperative principle, the conversation still runs well until the end.

Abstract

This research investigates the semiotic elements and moral messages embedded in the images found on cigarette packs, specifically focusing on the types of sign-meanings (denotation, connotation, and myth) and their moral implications. Data were collected from 10 different cigarette packs and analyzed using Roland Barthes' semiotic theory The analysis reveals that all 10 packs contain denotation and connotation, while 8 packs also exhibit myth. Beyond these semiotic analyses, the research uncovers significant moral messages conveyed through the warning images. These pictures serve as stark reminders of the severe health consequences of smoking, prompting reflection on the ethical implications of tobacco consumption. They underscore the importance of informed decision-making and challenge the normalization of smoking within cultural contexts. In conclusion, the semiotic and moral analysis of cigarette pack images reveals a complex interplay between visual elements and societal perceptions. The findings highlight the dual role of these images in conveying direct health warnings and broader ethical considerations, ultimately advocating for a more informed and health-conscious society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the lower passing skills of SMP Negari 11 South Bengkulu volleyball players. This type of research is descriptive quantitative using survey methods and data collection techniques using tests and measurements. The results of this study based on the volleyball game lower passing skills test found that the category was very poor at 0% (0 players), the category was poor at 0% (0 players), the moderate category was 60% (9 players), the good category was 20% (3 players), and the excellent category was 20% (3 people). Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the lower passing skills of SMPN 11 Bengkulu Selatan volleyball players are in the moderate category, namely 15 students or with a percentage of 60%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the contribution of agility to the dribbling ability of SMP Negeri 2 South Bengkulu futsal players. correlation or correlational research is research that seeks to determine whether there is a relationship between two or more variables. the independent variable is agility with the dependent variable being dribbling ability. The type of sempel in this study uses total sampling technique . The sempel is all SMPN 2 Bengkulu Selata futsal players totalling 18 people. The instruments used in this study were agility tests and dribbling skills. The agility test and dribbling ability obtained rtable of 0.400 because the correlation coefficient between rxy = 0.96> 0.400 and a contribution of 96%, which means that the contribution of agility to the dribbling ability of SMP Negeri 2 South Bengkulu futsal players is significant and large. Thus the hypothesis that reads ‘there is a contribution of agility to the dribbling ability of SMP Negeri 2 South Bengkulu futsal players’ is accepted. This means that there is a contribution of agility to dribbling ability in the futsal game of SMP Negeri 2 South Bengkulu players.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between waist flexibility with leg muscle strength and the skill of serving tekong athletes of Suka Bumi Village, Lebong Tengah. The method used in this research is correlational quantitative method. The population in this study were tekong athletes of Suka Bumi Village, Lebong Tengah, Sepak Takraw Sports Branch, totalling 22 students, while the sample in this study were 22 students. The instruments in this study were the Waist Flexibility Test, Limb Muscle Strength and Takraw Service Test. The data analysis prerequisites used are normality test with Lilliefors and homogeneity test. The data analysis used is Product Moment Correlation analysis with a significance level of 5%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant relationship between waist flexibility (X) and the results of takraw service skills as indicated by the value of r = 0.248.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine efforts to improve listening skills through storytelling methods using character dolls at PAUD Mutiara Rabbani Bengkulu City. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) or also called Classroom action research with the procedures used in the form of cycles. The subjects of this study were group A children at PAUD Mutiara Rabbani Bengkulu City, totalling 20 children. The research was conducted in two cycles of two meetings. Data analysis was carried out in qualitative and quantitative descriptions with emphasis used to determine the improvement of the process expressed in a predicate, while quantitative analysis was used to determine the improvement of results using percentages. The results of improving listening skills through storytelling methods using character dolls at PAUD Mutiara Rabbani in cycle I meeting to I with a percentage of 39.75%, in cycle I meeting to II with a percentage of 48.75%, cycle II meeting to I with a percentage of 62% and cycle II meeting to II with a percentage of 76.25%. The conclusion of the study that using character dolls can improve listening skills in children at PAUD Mutiara Rabbani Bengkulu City, as evidenced in cycle II meeting II there was an increase with the results of the achievement percentage of 82.25% with very good developing criteria (BSB).

Abstract

This class action research aims to improve the counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years with snakes and ladders game in group A of Tk Satu Atap SD 3 Talang Padang. The method used in this research is collaborative classroom action research using the Kemmis and Mc Taggart model. PTK is carried out as an effort to overcome problems that arise in the classroom. This method is carried out with four stages, namely planning, action, implementation, and reflection. The research subjects were group A students of Tk Satu Atap SD 3 Talang Padang, totalling 10 children. The object of this research is the counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years. The data collection method used was observation. Technical data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The success indicator set is at least 75% of 10 children achieve counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years. The results of the study indicate that the counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years has increased. The increase in counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years can be seen from the indicators of the ability to count objects 1 - 10, recognise number concepts, recognise number symbols 1 - 10, mention number symbols 1 - 10, match numbers with number symbols. The increase in counting ability of children aged 4 - 5 years with snakes and ladders games in the implementation of pre-action 31, 5%, and in cycle I increased to 51.5%, because it is still less than the success criteria that should be, the next action is cycle II and increases very well by getting a percentage of 85%. With this acquisition, the research was stopped because it had reached the success criteria

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of skills in opening class for PJOK teachers at Mi Plus Ja - Alhaq Bengkulu City. Descriptive Qualitative research type with research informants pjok teachers, teachers, principals and students. The results of research on the skills of opening the class of pjok teachers at MI Plus Ja-Alhaq are good as evidenced by the results of interviews and observations in this study. In the observation technique, class 1 obtained a score of 160 with a percentage of 80%, class 2 obtained a score of 161 with a percentage of 81%, class 3 obtained a score of 172 with a percentage of 86%, class 4 obtained a score of 173 with a percentage of 87%, class 5 obtained a score of 177 with a percentage of 89%, and class 6 obtained a score of 178 with a percentage of 89%. There are several aspects of the pjok teacher's skills in opening the class such as; lining up students, counting / attendance, leading prayers, giving greetings, giving apperceptions, conveying learning objectives, leading warm-ups, preparing places, preparing tools and preparing media.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the TPS (Think Pair Share) type Cooperative Learning model in Indonesian language learning in class V of SDN 8, Bengkulu city. Students' self-confidence is still not optimal, students' low communication skills on rational indicators are caused by various factors such as physical appearance, self-concept, relationships with parents, relationships with peers and the use of inappropriate learning models. So it is necessary to use an appropriate learning model to encourage students' self-confidence. Having a new learning model can help increase students' self-confidence. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK), which is carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects in this research were teachers and students of class VA SDN 8 Bengkulu City. The research instruments used were observation sheets, interviews and test sheets. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The results of the research show that there is an increase in students' communicative character when learning Indonesian using the TPS type Cooperative Learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the Effect of Dribbling Skills on Physical Condition (Cardiovascular Endurance Vo2max) in Himajas Male Futsal Extracurricular Players Semester I at Dehasen University Bengkulu. This type of research is an experimental study with a sample of 28 players. The results of this study indicate that dribbling skills have an influence on cardiovascular endurance Vo2max in Himajas Male Futsal Extracurricular Players Semester I at Dehasen University Bengkulu. It is proven by the results of the difference test between the Pre-Test and Post-Test of Cardiovascular Vo2max Endurance resulting in a tcount value of 11.47 and a ttable value of 1.725. That means tcount > ttable, so it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that the results of the study between Pre-Test and Post-Test on Cardiovascular Vo2max Endurance there is a significant difference. Thus the hypothesis that reads ‘Dribbling skills have a significant effect on increasing Cardiovascular Vo2max Endurance’, is accepted. From the Pre-Test data, the average value is 35.38, then during the Post-Test the average value reaches 45.19. The change in the average value of Cardiovascular Vo2max Endurance can be seen from the difference in the average value of 9.81.
