Abstract

The aim of this research is to detect the presence of blood parasite that infects sacrificial cattle slaughtered during idul adha 1438 H in Surabaya City and Sidoarjo Regency. This research used 147 blood samples of sacrificial cattle and used two methods, those are thin blood smear stained with Giemsa 20% and Microhematocrit Centrifugation Technique. Based on the result of the examination using a microscope with 1000x magnification, there are positive samples infected with blood parasite, that consist of Babesia sp., and Anaplasma sp.

Abstract

Abstract

This survey study was aimed to determine the prevalance of nematodosis and intensity on the Crossbreed Horse in Detasemen Kaveleri Berkuda Parongpong Bandung West Java. The benefits of this research are to contribute giving additional information about Prevalence, Intensity, and Relation among prevalance with age, sex, and stable. Fecal samples were tested by native, sedimentation, and floatation methods. The examination was found some kind of worm eggs, which are: Trychonema sp., Strongylus spp., Dictyocaulus arnfieldi (lung worm). The result showed that the prevalence of nematodosis was 12.03%. in the calculation of worm eggs per gram feces of Crossbreed Horse in Detasemen Kaveleri Berkuda that have relatively moderate infection were 1123EPG and result analyze with ANOVA showed no real different with function of horse. The result of statistical analysis using Chi-Square test showed no significant differences in prevalence with age and sex (p>0.05). the result of statistical using Chi-Square test showed significant differences in prevalence with stable in Detasemen Kaveleri Berkuda (p<0.05).

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to identify and prevalence of ectoparasite infestation in bean goats on the sub-district of Prambon, district of Nganjuk. The research was conducted from September until December 2019 with 115 samples of bean goats. The samples were identified in the Entomology and Protozoology Laboratory of Parasitology Department of the Veterinary Faculty of Airlangga University. This research use non-experimental method with survey study. This research found several kind of extoparasites that infestation bean goats, as follows: Bovicola caprae 24.3% the most infestation in dorsal region, Linognatus africanus 31.2% the most infestation in head-neck and dorsal region, Ctenocepallides felis 4.3%. Mix infestation found B. Caprae and L. Africanus 20.8%, B. Caprae and C. Felis 1%, B. Caprae, L. Africanus and C. Felis 1%. This ectoparasite usually found infestatio in head-neck, ventral, dorsal, inguinal, and ectremites. The prevalence of ectoparasites is 82.6% area at sub-district of Prambon, district of Nganjuk. The data analyzed using Chi-square test and Correspondence test. Statistically is no significant association (p>0.05) between the prevalence of ectoparasites that infested bean goats with types of stage and non-stage eclosure. This caused due to environmental conditions are dirty and many other livestock around the cage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the kind of nematodes and to determine the prevalence result. Thirtysix samples of omasum and abomasum were collected from RPH Pegirian from September-November 2017 then using gastrointestinal surgery to get fresh adult worm, afterwards using Semichen-Acetic Carmine stainning method to makes the object easy to microscopic identify. The result showed that species was found Haemonchus contortus, as an identify result show that adult worm has a character on a anterior part called cervical papilae, female  worm has a barber’s pole on body also posterior part has a vulva flap, posterior part of male worm has a bursa copulatrix, spicula, gubernaculum and dorsal rays looks like Y shape. Seventeen positive samples and the prevalence rate was 47,2%, 273 adult worms and female worms 215 (78,75%) and the male worms 58 (21,25%). Chi-Square statistical test (P <0.05) showed that 13 positive samples of kambing kacang (65%) were higher infected Haemonchosis infection than 4 potitive samples of PE (25%).
