Abstract

Subur Makmur Istana Embroidery Malang is one of the non-formal businesses or MSMEs in Malang City in the field of convection, with the main product being mukena or embroidered clothes. The aim of this research is to analyze the factors that influence work productivity. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a sample size of 35 workers. Cross sectional research design, statistical analysis using logistic regression tests. The research instruments used in this study were questionnaires, observation sheets, fatigue instruments using Subjective feelings of fatigue from the Japan Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC). Measurement of the physical work environment using a luxmeter for light measurement, and a sound level meter to measure noise. The research results show that there is a significant influence between age, work fatigue, motivation, length of service, lighting, and wages on work productivity. Meanwhile, the noise variable has no effect on work productivity, because for workers the noise generated by sewing, embroidery and cutting machines is considered not to disturb them while working.

Abstract

Family caregivers are important partners in the delivery of patient health care. Stroke patients need the help of family caregivers to assist in daily life. The purpose of this study was to explain the effect of PCHN development on increasing family independence in the care of stroke patients at home. The type of research is pre- experimental. The population was families of post-treatment stroke patients registered in Metro City. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. A total of 35 people met the inclusion criteria. The independent variable is PCHN. The dependent variable is the level of independence of the family caregiver, collected with an observation sheet of the level of independence of the family caregiver. Data were then analyzed with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, α ≤ 0.05. The test results showed there was a difference in the level of independence of family caregivers of stroke patients before and after PCHN (p = 0.025). PCHN can increase the independence of family caregivers in caring for stroke patients at home. Implementation of PCHN through home visits can provide information support related to stroke and home care for families. PCHN can be developed as one of the methods to improve palliative care in the community by community nurses, in order to improve the quality of life of stroke patients. Future research is expected to develop PCHN by involving a multidisciplinary team.

Abstract

Dietary polyphenols have chemopreventive and protective roles in maintaining human health and disease. Strong antioxidant effects are exhibited by dietary polyphenols and flavonoids against reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cellular oxidative stress (OS), thereby protecting against OS-related pathological conditions or diseases. This study generally aims to see the impact of phenol and bioactive compounds on inflammation in obese individuals. The method used in this study is a literature review. The stages involved in this process encompass identifying the central topic or issue to be discussed, conducting a comprehensive search for pertinent references or literature related to the topic, thoroughly reading, evaluating, and analyzing the literature in alignment with the study objectives, and finally, composing a narrative report that presents the review findings along with a concise summary. The time frame for the analysis was April 2013 to June 2023. A total of 323 publications with phenolic compounds as anti-inflammatory in obese were identified. From the initial 323 studies, 12 studies were selected for final analysis. The search for relevant articles or references will be conducted in the online databases Science Direct, Springer, Wiley Library, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The keywords used to search for references are obesity, inflammation, phenol compounds, bioactive compounds, antioxidants, and antioxidants. This literature review found that out of the 12 articles reviewed, 12 had similarities, stating that interventions with different doses of phenol compounds can reduce inflammatory cytokines in obesity with different periods. Overall, antioxidant bioactive compounds regulate pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, reduce oxidative stress by decreasing the accumulation of reactive oxygen species, and enhance antioxidant capacity and gene expression to prevent DNA damage in obese individuals.

Abstract

The use of pesticides in agriculture is not a new thing anymore. The use of pesticides by farmers aims to protect crops from pests. The use of pesticides by farmers is an activity that is included in a work assignment, so that to minimize the negative impact caused by pesticides, the use should be carried out according to healthy and safe procedures. The limited knowledge and understanding of farmers about the dangers of pesticides and not using work equipment that meets occupational safety and health standards are some of the factors that cause health problems due to exposure to pesticides to farmers. This study aims to determine the correlation between the level of knowledge and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) behaviour of pesticide use in asparagus farmers. This study is quantitative research using analytical survey research methods, with cross sectional. The population in this study were asparagus farmers in Pelaga Village, Badung who routinely sprayed, with a sample of 63 people who were taken by purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires to farmers, and data analysis was carried out by using the test Chi-Square. As many as 42 people (66,7%) farmers have a good level of knowledge about pesticides, 40 people (63.5%) have a safe behaviour in the use of pesticides, and the chi-square test obtained a positive correlation with the value of P= 0.026(p<0.05). This shows that there is a corelation between the level of knowledge and the Occupational Health and Safety behaviour of pesticide use in asparagus farmers.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has created new problems for the environment as evidenced by the large number of masks, both medical masks (single-use) and non-medical masks, found in public places. The discovery of masks that are discarded in any place, especially in beach tourism areas, is something we usually encounter these days. This has a negative impact on the coastal environment, in the long run, it will be one of the causes of climate change, damage to coastal ecosystems, and ecotoxicity. Sanur Tourism Area is one of the most attractive tourist attractions for tourists both domestic and foreign tourists. The aim of this research is to contribute and provide feedback to the local government especially the Sanitation and Environmental Services Department, to be more concerned about the management of mask waste and the providing of its facilities. The design of this study is descriptive to describe the level of knowledge of Sanur Beach visitors regarding the availability of mask waste disposal facilities at Sanur Beach, it is found that beach visitors have a fairly good level of knowledge (45%) in understanding the impact of mask waste disposal on tourism at Sanur Beach. The majority of respondents stated that the mask waste disposal facilities at Sanur Beach are adequate but the correct procedure for disposing of mask waste has not been found. As many as 68% of respondents stated that there is a closed landfill at Sanur Beach for mask waste disposal. The availability of facilities to manage disposable mask waste is another important factor that influences community action in implementing good waste management. For this reason, it is necessary to coordinate with relevant agencies and Sanur village officials and community cadres to negotiate to provide shared bins at several locations on Sanur Beach specifically to accommodate mask waste only to make it easier for visitors to sort their waste and not mix their mask waste again with other domestic waste.
