Abstract

Cancer develops a variety of complex difficulties, both physically and psychologically. Providing educational interventions to cancer patients has proven to be beneficial. Objective: this literature review aimed to determine how multimedia education is employed and the benefits of multimedia education interventions in cancer patients. Method: the literature search was conducted using the electronic databases ScienceDirect, Scopus, Proquest, and Clinicalkey. The keywords used in the article search were 'cancer' and 'multimedia education'. The inclusion criteria for this study were quantitative with an experimental design and quasi-experimental. Other inclusion criteria were published in English between 2015 and 2024. Results: From the 1056 articles found, 7 articles were analyzed revealed that cancer patients were offered various types of multimedia in the form of text, video, audio, or animation. Using multimedia-based interventions can promote disease knowledge, understanding, and acceptance, hence improving quality of life and treatment compliance. Conclusions: this literature review concludes that multimedia-based interventions have a greater favorable impact on cancer patients than conventional education. Therefore, medical personnel, particularly nurses, can provide multimedia-based educational interventions to cancer patients.

Abstract

The quality of nursing services for hemodialysis patients is determined by the role and performance of nurses based on spiritual intelligence. Nurses use spiritual intelligence when providing nursing care to hemodialysis patients so that patients feel satisfaction from actions that have an impact on the quality of service. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses' spiritual intelligence and service satisfaction in the hemodialysis room. This study used a cross-section design with a sample of 35 nurses and 153 hemodialysis patients at RSUD Dr. Soetomo. This research used a total technique for nurses and a simple random sampling technique for patients in hemodialysis installations. Research data was collected through a questionnaire from the spiritual intelligence variable with a valid test of 0.460-0.906 and a reliable test of 0.361 as well as a patient satisfaction questionnaire related to service quality with a valid test of 0.870-0.982 and a reliable test of 0.785. Research data was processed using a logistic regression test with a p-value ≤ 0.05. The results of the logistic regression test show that the p-value is 0.001, so it can be interpreted that H0 is rejected. This shows that there is a relationship between nurses' spiritual intelligence and the quality of hemodialysis services. Spiritual intelligence will create optimal nurse performance in taking action. The performance of nurses in hemodialysis tasks is quite complex with the number of patients being unbalanced with the number of nurses which influences the quality of nursing services.

In the elderly, cells decline due to the aging process which can cause various diseases, one of which is an increase in uric acid levels (hyperuricemia). Elderly people who suffer from gout experience metabolic imbalances in the body. This disorder causes the formation of monosodium urate crystals which cause inflammation and pain. Exercise, one of which is tera exercise, is a non-pharmacological therapy that aims to reduce pain. Objective: This research is to determine the effect of tera exercise on reducing the level of gout pain in the elderly. Method: This type of research is experimental research with design quasy experiment (nonequivalent control group design). The population in this study were elderly people who attended posbindu in Karanganom. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a total sample of 26 people. The data in this study was collected using a research instrument in the form of a NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) questionnaire pain scale assessment sheet. The data obtained were analyzed using a non-parametric test with the Wilcoxon test to compare the same subjects before and after being given the intervention. Results: The results of statistical tests using the Wilcoxon test showed that the value was p (0.001) <α (0.005) where the p-value was smaller than the alpha value and Ha was accepted. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it was concluded that there was an effect of applying tera exercise in reducing the level of gout pain in the elderly at Posbindu Karanganom.

Abstract

Breast milk is the ideal food in meeting the nutritional needs of newborns. Breast milk provides the energy and nutrients needed for the development and growth of the baby. In Indonesia, only 48.2% of mothers provide exclusive breastfeeding because their breast milk is not smooth. Breast milk can prevent LBW, premature birth, and can reduce infant mortality. One of the efforts to facilitate breastfeeding is with effleurage massage using olive oil. This effleurage massage can stimulate the release of oxytocin hormone. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of effleurage massage using olive oil (Olive Oil) on the smoothness of breast milk in post partum mothers at PMB Lismarini Palembang. This type of research uses quasi-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest research design. Sampling was done by accidental sampling technique on 15 post partum mothers. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The data collection process is that the researcher explains the purpose of the study, if willing to become a respondent, then the researcher asked for willingsess to sign the consent sheet. if prospective respondents are not willing, the research must not impose and must respect the rights of prospective respondent. After the respondent is willing to become a respondent, the research gives a breast milk fluency questionnaire on day 1. After being given the questionnaire, it can be taken as a respondent according to with the inclusion criteria and the results were recorded on the sheet, then the provision of the effleurage massage started on days 1-4. Giving effleurage massage is done 3x/day, namely morning, afternoon, and evening night. On the first day in the morning the researcher gave the effleurage massage and continued by the husband effleurage and continued by the husband had been taught the researcher message techniques on the first day. Giving effleurage massage is done for 4 days with 3-5 minutes. On the 4th day after giving effleurage massage, the researcher gave the questionnaire again, during the research period April-May 2024. The sample obtained was 15 mothers. a little later. The results showed the effect of effleurage massage using olive oil on the smoothness of breast milk, obtained a p value of 0.039.

Abstract

The discomfort that often arises during the third trimester of pregnancy and is often complained of by pregnant women is back pain. Back pain in pregnant women can be treated with pregnancy exercises. In pregnancy exercises, the 5th movement, namely rocking back arches, can be continued with the Pelvic Rocking Exercise for optimal results. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of remodeling pregnancy exercises using pelvic rocking exercise on back pain in pregnant women. Method: Quasi Experimental research method with pretest-posttest with control group design. The purposive sampling sample was 20 third trimester pregnant women with back pain, divided into 2 groups, namely the control group (pregnancy exercise only) and the intervention group (remodeling pregnancy exercise with pelvic rocking exercise). The instrument used was the Numerical Rating Scale pain scale observation sheet. Data analysis with a difference test between pre and post. Results: The results of the back pain scale for pregnant women in the control group after being given pregnancy exercises obtained an average of 11.71, while in the intervention group after being given remodeling pregnancy exercises with pelvic rocking exercise the average was 9.46. The results of data analysis using the Mann-Whitney U-Test showed a p value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, which means the pain scale in the intervention group decreased more than the pain scale in the control group. Conclusion: Remodeling pregnancy exercise with pelvic rocking exercise is more effective in managing back pain in pregnant women.
