Abstract

Children's involvement with digital devices is something that cannot be avoided in the current technological era, especially because of children's extraordinary curiosity, which indirectly accustoms them to living a sedentary lifestyle (screen time). However, there are undesirable consequences of prolonged and age-inappropriate screen use, which is of concern to developmental experts because it is one of the causes of various health, growth and development problems, as well as behavioral and cognitive problems in children. Objective to determine the correlation between screen time and the social emotional development of children aged 4-6 years. This study used a cross sectional approach with a total sampling technique in classes A and B, totaling 44 children. The questionnaire used is screen time modified by Maulodin (2018) and ASQ SE 2 by Risna (2022) which have been tested for validity and reliability. There is no correlation between screen time and social emotional development with a significance value of 0.111 (p-value > 0.05). Based on majority data, 22 children (50.0%) with high screen time use have appropriate social emotional development. This study concludes that there is no correlation between screen time and social emotional development in preschool children aged 4-6 years. Parents need to pay attention, although screen time is not the only factor that can influence social emotional development in preschool children, but it has the potential to have a negative impact. Parents can teach creative learning methods that can stimulate children's ability to use everyday objects so that children do not spend their time playing with gadgets and can balance the potential negative impact of screen time.

Abstract

The most common complication of diabetes is neuropathy. Diabetic foot screening includes secondary prevention efforts against further complications from diabetes. The need for practitioners to have practical, simple, and affordable sensory neuropathy screening techniques that can be independently is a demand in today's health services. A study aimed to assess the sensitivity and specificity of the ipswich touch test (IPTT) to the 10g monofilament test in the early detection of diabetic neuropathy. Methods: This quantitative observational research design used a cross-sectional method with 61 respondents who had diabetes mellitus for more than one year in the working area of the Pasar Ikan Health Center, Bengkulu City. Samples were taken by consecutive sampling. The researcher conducted an ipswich touch test (IPTT) first and then an examination with a monofilament test of 10g as the gold standard. The data is processed and analyzed with a computer application to see the sensitivity and specificity values. Ipswich touch test (IPTT) had a sensitivity value of 91.3%, specificity of 92.1%, positive predictive value of 87.5%, negative predictive value of 94.59%, positive probability ratio of 11.55, negative probability ratio of 0.09 and AUC value of 91%. The ipswich touch test (IPTT) has the same sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy as the monofilament test.

One of the most dramatic events occurring to GA sufferers is a flare, a severe condition that rises quickly and lasts for one or two weeks. The pain's intensity and subjective experience vary between individuals and could be among groups. Therefore, identifying how the sufferer expresses pain is essential to understanding the phenomenon. Objective: This study aimed to explore the pain experience of GA Sufferers. Methods: A single case study was applied to conduct this qualitative research. This research was located in Tomohon City and occurred in September 2024. In-dept interviews were done with three adults who are GA sufferers. A narrative analysis of each participant was used to describe the result. Results: Participants are polyarticular tophaceous gout sufferers. Participant 1 (P1) expresses his pain as "ba’-nyut-nyut" or "manucu" (the pain was excruciating, like being stabbed with a needle), burns, and even makes him cannot wake up from bed due to the painful feeling and the foot tophi. Meanwhile, P2 says the Manucu experience usually happens during cold temperatures and makes him totofore (trembling). Last, the third participant says it feels like being stabbed, "ba-cucuk," and very painful. Conclusions: Pain is a subjective experience of the sufferer and has impact in his/her quality of life however, pain is also expressed in a commonality based on the sufferer cultural background like the word "manucu" exists as a characteristic of the pain in the community.
