The data collection methods used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained is then analyzed using data reduction techniques and conclusion drawing. The subjects of this study are the teachers and students at the Senior High School level of the Al-Umm Smart Centre for Qur’an Memorization The results of this study show that the muhâdhoroh activity in developing students' self-confidence at the Madrasah Aliyah Tahfidzul Qur'an Al UMM Smart Center is quite effective in supporting the development of students' self-confidence. In its implementation, the muhâdhoroh activity is held twice weekly, specifically every Monday and Friday after the Zuhr prayer. It lasts approximately seven minutes and is carried out alternately between classes. The strategy implemented in the execution of the muhâdhoroh activity at the Madrasah Aliyah Tahfidzul Qur'an Al UMM Smart Center involves male and female teachers selecting the theme of the speech. Then, the students study and memorize it independently before presenting it. After the muhâdhoroh activity is completed, the male and female teachers immediately evaluate the students' performance by explaining the aspects that need improvement, to develop the students' Arabic language skills for the future. There is no doubt that this muhâdhoroh activity has a significant and positive impact on the students, especially in building their self-confidence in speaking Arabic.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an Arabic language learning E-Module based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) using digital technology integration, to determine the results of validation by subject matter experts, media experts, and education practitioners, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the E-Module developed for Arabic language learning. This study is a Research & Development (R&D) using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data was collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document studies in eighth grade at SMP Islam Al Azhar 46 Pati to determine the suitability of the material and media contained in the E-Module with the student needs. Data analysis techniques in this study used a Likert scale to measure the validity and feasibility of the E-Module. The results of the validation by subject matter experts, media experts, and education practitioners on the developed E-Module were categorized as very good with a percentage of 92.80%. The advantages of HOTS-based E-Modules using digital technology integration that have been developed in Arabic language learning include ease of access through various devices anywhere and anytime as long as there is an internet connection; fostering discipline, critical thinking skills, creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence; and more interactive presentation of E-Modules. However, there are also some limitations, such as the need for a significant amount of time in developing the E-Module; the absence of a direct two-way discussion space within the E-Module; and the requirement for teachers to act as facilitators, continuously monitoring the learning process, providing support, and motivating students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine YouTube as an interactive educational tool to improve Arabic speaking skills among middle school students. As digital media becomes increasingly integrated into the learning process, YouTube provides audio-visual content that can simulate real-life conversational contexts, making it a relevant learning resource in today’s language teaching. This study uses a quantitative quasi-experimental design. Thirty female second-grade students were purposively selected and evenly divided into an experimental group, which received Arabic-speaking instruction through YouTube videos, and a control group, which was taught using traditional methods. The study's hypothesis states that there is a statistically significant difference in speaking skill improvement between students who use YouTube and those who receive conventional instruction. To test this hypothesis, an independent samples t-test was used. The study lasted six weeks, during which data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests, interviews with teachers, and documentation of teaching materials and student progress. Statistical analysis was carried out using SPSS and revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s speaking ability, with a post-test mean of 42.13 and an N-Gain of 0.60 (moderate), compared to the control group’s mean of 26.53 and N-Gain of 0.11 (low), indicating that YouTube was much more effective in improving speaking performance. These results indicate that YouTube impacts Arabic language instruction as a practical and engaging strategy to develop students’ communicative competence. Although the findings are promising, the small sample size and the study’s focus on a single institution call for broader research to verify these results. Therefore, other researchers in the same field are expected to address these limitations.

Abstract

This study explores the role of multicultural communication strategies in language teaching, emphasizing the importance of culturally responsive pedagogy in addressing the diverse backgrounds of learners. Drawing on a qualitative library research method, this work synthesizes existing literature to construct a conceptual framework that highlights the integration of cultural identity, responsive interaction, and inclusive content in language education. This study uses a qualitative library research method to examine multicultural communication strategies in language teaching. Data were gathered from credible academic sources through systematic literature searches using relevant keywords. The analysis applied qualitative content analysis to identify themes related to cultural identity integration, responsive teacher-learner interactions, and inclusive curricula, resulting in a conceptual framework for fostering culturally responsive pedagogy in diverse classrooms. Findings indicate that effective communication in multicultural classrooms extends beyond linguistic instruction to include intercultural competence and sensitivity to students’ cultural norms, values, and communicative styles. The study identifies both the benefits and challenges of implementing such strategies, noting that while they enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, their application is often hindered by a lack of institutional support, teacher training, and adaptable curricula—particularly in contexts like Indonesia. This research advocates for comprehensive teacher development, curriculum reform, and reflective practices that empower educators to bridge linguistic and cultural divides. Ultimately, the study underscores the need for pedagogical models that foster inclusive, equitable, and culturally affirming learning environments in 21st-century language classrooms.

Abstract

This study examines the political interpretation in M. Quraish Shihab's Tafsir Al-Misbah, using a library research approach and qualitative content analysis, to explore how the basic principles of state life, such as power, deliberation, and justice, are interpreted from an Islamic perspective. The novelty of this study lies in the effort to contextualize Quraish Shihab's thoughts within the landscape of modern Indonesian statehood and position the interpretation as a source of moderate and inclusive Islamic political values. Beyond analyzing the text, this study also reconstructs the relevance of the interpretation's values to the challenges of democracy, pluralism, and law enforcement in the contemporary era. The findings show that Quraish Shihab offers an Islamic narrative emphasizing the ethics of power, substantive justice, and openness to diversity as basic principles of national life. This study is expected to be an important reference for integrating Islamic values into national political discourse. For further development, a comparative study with other contemporary interpretations or an interdisciplinary approach involving political science and sociology is recommended to expand the usefulness of this research result.

Abstract

This study examines the process of learning Arabic at MAN 2 Sleman which is committed to inclusive education so that they integrate learning for students with disabilities and non-disabled students. This type of research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The techniques used in collecting data are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources selected in this study were the Head of the Madrasah, Arabic Teachers, Students with Disabilities, and the Head of ULD. Purposive and snowball sampling is used in determining the data source. The results of this study indicate that MAN 2 Sleman always strives to be committed to providing inclusive education. This is evidenced by the effort to complete physical facilities such as guiding blocks and the establishment of ULD in 2020. In addition, MAN 2 Sleman always increases the capacity for knowledge, understanding, and educational practice for HR in the madrasa by organizing various training or workshops for the MAN 2 community. Sleman, the formation of inclusive friends and assistance for students with visual impairments after the covid-19 pandemic. Specific problems in the Arabic learning process for students with disabilities are the lack of Arabic language teachers' ability to write and read Braille Arabic letters, the absence of Arabic references in braille form, and the unavailability of an Arabic dictionary either in braille form or an easily accessible application, by students with disabilities. Efforts made to overcome these problems are the provision of recordings of books or materials and even Arabic questions that teachers or friends of non-disabled students carry out. Students with disabilities can write Latin in the maharah Kitabah or Arabic and then be corrected by a companion who can write and read Arabic Braille. In addition, even though the COVID-19 pandemic has been considered sloping, applications are still ongoing, such as recording text readings or Arabic questions using VN, using the YouTube application to help deepen material and using Google Form media to answer Arabic questions.

Abstract

This study aims to measure psychological gestures and language acuity (linguistics) from sensory integration barriers or disorders in a child with Down syndrome named Muhammad Syauqi, with an IQ below 45, a child with special needs from QIS Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to determine linguistic ability (language ability related to pronunciation sharpness, duration of memorizing Arabic vocabulary, and language regularity), psychological resilience in the process of speaking Arabic, and to identify pronunciation barriers that are owned by the cognitive abilities of children with Down syndrome IQ in below 45. This study uses qualitative research with observation methods, namely field observations, accompanied by analysis and distribution methods, namely listening, taking notes, changing, and replacing. The descriptive analysis method is used to present information and data. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive analysis by describing and summarizing the data obtained statistically. The analysis results show that language use in children with Down syndrome, namely Muhammad Syauqi, is very different because apart from the lower average IQ, obstacles to pronunciation acuity also occur due to physical disorders in the mouth to the throat. Down syndrome children can only say one word because of the lack of vocabulary. Children with Down syndrome will point to the object they want when asking for something. Children with Down syndrome have difficulty pronouncing the vowels /alif/, /fa'/, /syin/, /shod/, /hot/ /'ain/, and /groin/, as well as the vibration of the sound /ro'/. Children with Down syndrome also experience difficulties pronouncing the correct articulation, even sounds that sound unclear, and sometimes make faint sounds without meaning that cannot be understood.
