Abstract

With the increasing of Arabic language position in the world views, the aim of learning Arabic is also developed, it leads to various types of approaches in learning Arabic, one of them is the communicative approach. This study aimed to examine the Arabic learning based on a communicative approach in non-pesantren madrassas. This research used the method of literature study (library research). The results of this study were the learning of Arabic base on a communicative approach in non-pesantren madrassas can be implemented as well as in pesantren, it must pay attention to the eight interrelated learning components namely objectives, materials, methods, roles of educators and students, learning environment/activities, and learning evaluation. The role of the learning environment was important for achieving the objectives of communicative Arabic learning in non-pesantren madrassas. The school can carry out various supporting Arabic language programs outside the Arabic learning activities in the classroom. The basic program was not only intended for students, but also educators, employees, principals and even parents of students. Madrasah environment must be a supportive Arabic language.

Abstract

The reason for this research was conducted in order to analyze and answer the problems in the assessment of class X Arabic books published by the ministry of religion in 2020, especially on qira'ah skills. This research was studied using qualitative methods with library research techniques in collecting data. Primary data comes from Arabic books published by the ministry of religion in 2020, while secondary data comes from documents, both books and related journals. This study aims to describe: (1) techniques for assessing knowledge aspects in Arabic textbooks for class X published by the Ministry of Religion in 2020 (2) techniques for assessing aspects of skills in maharah qira'ah in Arabic textbooks for class X published by the Ministry of  Religion in 2020 ( 3) innovation analysis Higher Order Thingking Skills (HOTS) assessment of qiro'ah material in Arabic textbooks for class X published by the Ministry of Religion in 2020. The results showed that the assessment that was innovated on the HOTS indicators in the Arabic language book Madrasah Aliyah class X, Ministry of Religion in 2020 indicated that it had fulfilled all content indicators HOTS is at the level of analyzing, evaluating, and creating.

Abstract

The prevailing methods of Arabic language instruction predominantly rely on didactic approaches involving lectures and memorization, contributing to a waning interest and motivation among students. This pedagogical challenge is exacerbated by the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has significantly impeded traditional learning activities in schools. In response to these impediments, the development of Arabic language learning media utilizing the Lectora Inspire 17 application emerges as a viable solution, fostering an environment conducive to engaging and self-directed learning. This research endeavors to construct an android-based Arabic learning medium employing the Lectora Inspire 17 application. The focus lies on assessing the efficacy and viability of the developed learning media at MTs Hidayatul Athfal Banyurip Alit Pekalongan. Employing the ADDIE development model method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), this study conducts a comprehensive examination of the media's feasibility. The evaluation conducted by media experts yielded a favorable percentage of 82%, placing the developed media in the feasible category. Moreover, assessments by subject matter experts resulted in an impressive percentage of 90%, categorizing the material as highly feasible. Notably, students' responses to the learning media demonstrated a substantial approval rate of 90% in the highly feasible category. Consequently, it is evident that the Arabic language learning media based on the Lectora Inspire 17 android application is well-suited to serve as an effective educational tool.

Abstract

The factor of failure in Arabic language learning in Indonesia is the lack of activities in language learning. One of language learning activities is identifying meaning or word meaning and phrase in dictionary. However, word and phrase index developed based on teaching materials at madrasah non-pesantren was not developed yet. Therefore, Research and Development is needed to apply. After having collected the word and phrase index that were collected from teaching materials of Arabic language at MI non-pesantren in Indonesia, then it was tested at MIN Malang. The result showed that: there was a development in Arabic language learning through word and phrase index; that was students’ competence to identify meaning and collaboration in understanding text and context in a sentence. After having applied the experiment, students’ average score increased from 52 with 19 failed students to 81,26 with 5 failed students.DOI: 10.24865/ajas.v1i2.6

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the planning of character education integration in Arabic learning, the implementation of the integration and the implications of character education on the students’ character in Muhammadiyah Middle School 10 Yogyakarta. This was a qualitative research. Data were collected by observation, interviews and documentation. Data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed: (1) Planning for the integration was included into syllabus and lesson plans. The integration of character education was carried out in the philosophical, material and strategic domains. (2) The implementation of character education integration in Arabic language learning was done through learning activities, giving advice, and the teacher’s role model in Arabic teaching. At the stage of implementation, the integration  had been carried out in the philosophy, material and strategy domains. (3) The implications of character education on students’ character were the development of religiousity, obedience, discipline, communicativeness and responsibility.

Abstract

Evaluation of teaching materials shows that the presentation is systematic, coherent, consistent and balanced between chapters. In terms of supporters, the presentation does not contain a complete list of supporters, there are deficiencies in the evaluation of maharah qira'ah. The purpose of reading is to understand the text being read and the content of the text gives meaning to the reader. The purpose of this study is to see the assessment of Arabic textbooks in 2020 published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in accordance with the criteria for learning maharah qiraah. The method used in this research is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The source of the data obtained comes from class VIII Arabic textbooks in 2020 published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia as well as journals, books, and so on. Data analysis techniques by collecting and interpreting data then describing it. The results of this study state that maharah assessment has not provided a form of test that describes understanding for readers both orally and in writing. So, it is good that maharah kitabah in class VIII Arabic textbooks in 2020 published by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs needs to improve their assessment techniques.

Abstract

Writing skills assessment instrument in grade VIII MTs textbook shows that from the aspect of presentation it is systematic, coherent and consistent. But when viewed from aspect of the content writing skills assessment instrument it has not yet contained the level of creating. Even though writing skills are important controlled productive skills for students to master. Especially at level of creating to produce critical and creative writing ideas. The purpose of this study is to present an analysis and innovation of writing skills assessment instruments at creative level in Arabic language textbook for grade VIII MTs published by Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020 according to the criteria for learning writing skills. The method used in this study is literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. The main source of this study is Arabic language textbook for grade VIII MTs and secondary source are books and articles on the assessment of Arabic writing skills and the level of creative. The result of this study shows instruments are needed in evaluating the learning of writing skills at level of creating. Innovation of this assessment instrument is expected to be a reference in evaluation of learning Arabic writing skills and encourage grade VIII MTs students to be more critical, creative and productive in writing.

Abstract

The integrative approach in Istimā'  (listening) learning is an approach applied to Istimā' learning by combining the four language skills and other fields of knowledge.  The integrative approach to teaching Istimā' can enhance students' motivation by making learning more relevant and contextual, as well as developing broader skills in various real-life communications. This research discusses Istimā' learning activities with an integrative approach among students in the Arabic Language Education program at the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The aim of this research is to explore the integrative approach as an effort to improve the quality of the process and outcomes of Istimā' skill learning for students at the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The participants in this study are third-semester students of the 2023 cohort of the Arabic Language Education program at the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The research method used is the classroom action research (CAR) method. Data collection techniques include observation and Istimā' learning test results. Data analysis is conducted using qualitative analysis techniques. The research findings indicate that Istimā' learning with an integrative approach can provide meaningful experiences for students, not only enhancing Istimā' skills but also improving speaking, reading, and writing skills. This is evident from the average final grade of students in Istimā' learning, which is 91.63. Through the integrative approach, students are given the opportunity to actively engage in searching for, discovering, and solving problems by involving the four Arabic language skills.
