Abstract

Abstract: This community service program was conducted at MI Nurul Iman Dempok, Jombang Regency, to strengthen teachers' capacity in implementing contextual habituation-based Civic Education (PPKn) learning for character development. The program addressed three major issues: the limited internalization of Pancasila values in classroom practices, the absence of a structured character habituation system, and teachers' limited competence in utilizing interactive digital learning media. A participatory approach based on the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) framework was employed through needs assessment, workshops, mentoring, classroom implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The participants consisted of 12 teachers who actively engaged in designing contextual learning modules, interactive digital media, and the Pancasila Character Control Book (BKKP). Program evaluation demonstrated a significant improvement in teachers' competencies, as indicated by the increase in average scores from 58% in the pre-test to 89% in the post-test. Furthermore, the overall satisfaction level of participating teachers reached 96%, indicating that the program effectively addressed the identified needs. The program successfully enhanced teachers' pedagogical capacity to integrate Pancasila values into meaningful learning experiences and established sustainable character education practices within the school environment. Abstract

Swimming is one of the sports that demands total physical fitness, including endurance, flexibility, technique, and muscular strength. However, strength training (strength training) as an integral part of the training program for swimmers has not been widely applied, especially at the club level in Indonesia. This community service activity aims to introduce the concept and practice of strength training to athletes at Club Galaxy Aquatic, Kediri. The method used is participatory action in the form of educational socialization, practical demonstrations, and mentored exercises for 8 weeks with a frequency of 2 sessions per week. The results show that after the introduction and implementation of the strength training program, there was a significant improvement in athletes' physical condition indicators, particularly upper body strength, core stability, and 50-meter freestyle swimming performance. Athletes and coaches also showed increased understanding of the importance of integrating strength training into swimming training programs. This activity proves that structured strength training introduction can have a positive impact on the performance of young swimmers

Abstract

The rapid growth of tourism in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) has created new economic opportunities for the Tengger community while simultaneously posing challenges to the preservation of local cultural values. One of the major issues is the limited capacity of local youth to document and communicate their own cultural narratives through audiovisual media. This community service program addressed this issue by implementing Kelas Sinema, a community-based documentary filmmaking training program in collaboration with Lingkaran Space and Shelter Kopi Bromo in Sukapura, Probolinggo. The program employed the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach integrated with the Participatory Video (PV) method to strengthen local capacities through participatory learning. The activities consisted of community asset identification, documentary filmmaking training, interactive discussions, practical audiovisual exercises, and program evaluation. The training introduced participants to visual language, documentary storytelling, cinematography, and community-based cultural documentation. The results indicate that participants demonstrated increased knowledge and skills in documentary film production, stronger awareness of the importance of preserving Tengger culture through audiovisual media, and active engagement throughout the learning process. The program also fostered collaboration among local communities and strengthened the role of documentary filmmaking as a medium for cultural education, community participation, and sustainable cultural preservation in the TNBTS area.

Abstract

Abstract: Water Rescue is a series of steps to help rescuers remember how to deal with water accidents. This method is often also known as the RTRGT method, which stands for Reach, Throw, Row, Go, and Tow. This method has been proven and is the most effective rescue method in providing assistance to victims who are threatened with drowning. Disasters or emergencies are events that are always unexpected by anyone, including rescuers / SAR teams. It requires a response or handling as soon as possible without forgetting the safety factor (self-safety). Therefore, basic water rescue abilities and skills should not only be possessed by those who work as SAR teams but everyone so that in the event of an emergency, the number of victims can be minimized. Good and correct rescue techniquesnot only make it easier for rescuers to carry out rescues but can also guarantee the safety of the rescuer himself. Many cases occur where the safety of the rescuer is threatened due to limited knowledge. Not infrequently, the rescuer has to lose his life because he was reckless in carrying out rescue actions only with the capital of swimming skills. Swimming ability is the main and most important capital in water rescue, but it must be noted that water rescue does not always require the rescuer to

Abstract

An elderly person is defined as someone over the age of 60 who experiences physiological changes and a decline in bodily functions due to aging. The partner for this community service initiative is the Kandung community (*Kenagarian*) in Koto X District, Solok Regency. The issues faced by the partner include: (1) limited knowledge regarding individual potential, independence, and health, alongside a lack of active engagement among the elderly; and (2) employment challenges specifically for those considered "non-productive "where the majority are no longer working despite a continued desire to do so. The lack of productivity among some elderly individuals results in reduced income, potentially leading to poverty. The proposed solution involves creative industry training utilizing an occupational therapy approach specifically, crafting items from recycled materials. The objectives of this activity are to improve the health and productivity of the elderly, foster social interaction among them, and provide meaningful ways to utilize their leisure time. The assistance method employs a "Training of Trainers" (TOT) model, combining lectures with hands-on practical sessions. The outcomes of this initiative include enhanced knowledge and skills regarding balance exercises and handicraft production, as well as increased productivity among the elderly participants.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires teachers to possess the competence to utilize technology to improve learning quality. However, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and interactive multimedia in Physical Education learning at senior high schools remains limited due to teachers’ insufficient digital competence. This community service program aimed to enhance the digital competence of Physical Education teachers through the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and interactive multimedia to support digital learning transformation in senior high schools in Surakarta. The program employed a Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach consisting of four stages: needs assessment, training, implementation assistance, and monitoring and evaluation. The participants were 25 Physical Education teachers from senior high schools in Surakarta. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and pretest–posttest questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis. The results showed that the teachers’ average digital competence increased from 48.0% before the program to 88.4% after the program, representing an improvement of 40.4%. Participants successfully developed various digital learning products, including 25 AI-assisted teaching modules, 22 interactive presentation media, 20 digital quizzes, 18 instructional videos, 25 AI-based question banks, and 10 Physical Education learning websites. Furthermore, participant satisfaction reached 92.4%, indicating that the assistance program effectively addressed teachers’ needs in implementing digital learning. Abstract

Gymnastics is a fundamental sport crucial for the development of motor skills, strength, and coordination in junior high school students aged 13–15. However, its implementation in schools is often hampered by the limited availability of standardized assessment instruments and the low self-efficacy of PE teachers in teaching safe movement techniques. This Community Service activity aims to disseminate the basic gymnastics movement assessment instrument to physical education teachers in the Greater Jakarta area as an effort to standardize learning and evaluation. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory andragogical approach that includes face-to-face socialization, presentation of instrument materials, group discussions to gather input from practitioners, and a brief simulation of the use of assessment rubrics in the field. In addition, this program integrates technology through the digitization of the scoring system to improve data accuracy. The target outputs of this activity are the dissemination of the assessment instrument in target schools, increased teacher understanding of gymnastics movement parameters, and the preparation of accountable activity reports and documentation. Through this activity, synergy is created between academics and practitioners in improving the quality of physical education and providing valid, reliable, and safe evaluation references for students at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Kunci Village, Dander District, Bojonegoro Regency, possesses significant tourism potential through the Goa Macan geosite; however, its development remains limited due to low community awareness, the absence of a formal management institution, inadequate accessibility, and minimal digital promotion. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of the Village Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) in managing and promoting the geosite. The program adopted a collaborative approach integrating Susan Walsh’s 3R framework (Rights-Based, Respect-Based, and Resilience-Based) with the Metal Organic Framework (MOF) concept to enhance stakeholder networking and community participation. Activities included institutional strengthening through the establishment of Pokdarwis regulations, socialization programs, capacity-building workshops, and follow-up planning involving local youth and stakeholders. The results demonstrated substantial improvements in community awareness, the establishment of a formal Pokdarwis institution with approved statutes and bylaws, enhanced tourism management capacity, initial improvements in site accessibility, and strengthened digital promotion skills through Canva and CapCut training. The integration of the 3R and MOF approaches effectively promoted community engagement, respect for local values, and access to digital technology. These findings highlight the importance of continuous mentoring, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and integrated marketing strategies to support the sustainable development of village-based geotourism.

Abstract

Effective oral communication skills, especially public speaking, are essential capabilities that vocational high school (SMK) graduates must have to succeed in the increasingly competitive job market. However, observations at SMK Pandanaran Boyolali revealed that many students were experiencing high levels of communication anxiety and low self-confidence, mainly due to psychological barriers. To address this, a community service program was initiated with the title 'Berani Bicara, Berani Berkarya', with the aim of building students' self-assurance and verbal communication skills. The activity utilized a qualitative-observational approach, involving 35 students from grades X and XI.The program consisted of three main phases: a presentation on the importance of public speaking, screening of creative documentary videos to inspire motivation, and a hands-on practice session for speaking. Observations after the activity showed a significant increase in students’ enthusiasm and confidence. The participatory approach and the creation of a supportive environment proved effective in reducing speech anxiety. Overall, the initiative successfully encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones and provided them with practical experience crucial for their personal growth and future career preparedness.

Abstract

Jarak Village in Wonosalam, Jombang, faces critical environmental challenges due to hundreds of tons of accumulated coffee husk waste (cascara) that degrade local sanitation. Conversely, local coffee farmers remain highly dependent on expensive synthetic chemical fertilizers, which accelerate soil degradation. This community service program aimed to enhance the technical capacity of the local youth organization (Karang Taruna) by transforming agricultural biomass into an eco-friendly compressed fertilizer called KOMPOSIL. The service method applied the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, focusing on intensive training, hands-on mechanical practices, and reflective discussions. The program actively engaged 16 youth members over a four-month period at the village hall. The results showed a significant improvement in the partners' motoric and technical skills, with 85% of participants successfully mastering the operation of the Integrated Homogenizer machine and manual hydraulic press tools independently. The production of this slow-release cylinder block fertilizer effectively mitigates open-dumping pollution while providing a sustainable organic input alternative for community plantations, establishing a resilient foundation for community-based ecological independence.
