Abstract

The  research  has  conducted  the  formulation  and  Effectiveness  Test  Ethanol Extract Antioxidant Cream Wood Java cortex (Lannea Coromandelica hout Merr) by DPPH method. This study aims to determine the concentration of the extract java wood (Lannea Coromandelica hout Merr) is effective as an antioxidant for cream formula. Formula cream tested the effectiveness of antioxidants with DPPH. Ethanol extract of the wood cortex java cream formulated in dosage forms by using various concentration of extract 0.03%, 0.3%, 3%. Comparative antioxidant is vitamin C used at a concentration of 0.05%. The test results showed that all the cream formulation has antioxidant activity. Formula cream timber cortex extract Java (Lannea coromandelica Hout  Merr)  showed  antioxidant  activity  is  the  most  effective  formula  containing extracts of 3% with the percent inhibition of 55.39% compared with the creamy formula of vitamin C with the percent inhibition of 53.76%.

Abstract

Test  of  efficacy studies  have  been  conducted  leaf  extract  (Moringa oleifera  L)  to decrease blood cholesterol levels in mice (Mus musculus) males. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of moringa leaf extract on reducing cholesterol in mice. In this study using 15 male mice were divided into 5 groups. Before being given treatment, mice were first fasted for 8 hours and then measured cholesterol levels initially. After that induced propylthiouracil every day on each mouse to raise the cholesterol levels of mice for 14 days. Furthermore, given the different treatments in each group for 14 days and total cholesterol levels were measured on day 28th Group I was given NaCMC 1% w / v as a negative control and the obtained yield was 150 mg / dL, 183 mg / dL and 254 mg / dl, group II was given a suspension Simvastatin as a positive control and the results obtained 136 mg / dL, 155 mg / dL, and 164 mg / dL, a group III, IV, and V are given extracts of leaves (Moringa oleifera L) with three variations of the dose 50 mg / g, 100 mg / g, 200 mg / g and the results obtained successively by 127 mg / dL, 135 mg / dL, 152 mg / dL, 170 mg / dL, 176 mg / dL, 188 mg / dL, 156 mg / dL, 137 mg / dL, 175 mg / dL. The results showed that the leaf extract of Moringa can lower total cholesterol levels of mice at a dose of 200 mg / g, but not as effective as simvastatin.

Abstract

Majority of traditional medicine uses herbal medicine to support health. Besides being able to cure the disease, traditional medicine also has side effects low or even non-existent. One of the plants used as traditional medicine is cinnamon leaf (Sauropus androgynous). Leaves widely used as a laxative breast milk for breastfeeding mothers. In addition, cinnamon leaf can be used as a drug for ulcerative lesions. This study aims to investigate the antibacterial activity of the methanol extract of leaves of cinnamon fraction (Sauropus androgynous). Characterization of compound akitif based thin-layer chromatography penampak various spots, including FeCl3, Dragendorf, Lieberman Buchard, ethanolic KOH, and Aluminum Chloride. Crude katuk leaves macerated using methanol for 3 days. The results showed that the methanol extract of cinnamon leaf has activity against the bacteria Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus thyposa. Katuk leaf extract was fractionated by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography method. In this fractionation process, the eluent used was ethyl acetate and methanol (5:1). Results of fractionation of methanol extract in the form of a combined fraction of the number 6 keselurahan 14 fractions. Based on the TLC-profile Bioautografi fraction is the fraction of active 4 inhibits the growth of bacteria Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus thyposa. From the results of the identification of the chemical components showed that compounds that inhibit the growth of bacteria on the 4th fraction are flavonoids.

Abstract

Dengue fever is a disease that is still worrying for the people of Indonesia. Purple potato in general are well known in the community. Purple potato can be grown in all parts of Indonesia. Nutrient content of owned potatoes are very abundant, such as carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, carotenoids  and  anthocyanin pigments  β-  needed  by the  body and  can  act  as  a  source  of antioxidants that can improve of platelets in thrombocytopenia condition. Research with an experimental design examined the effects of infusion of potato leaves in mice compared with various doses. And the results obtained in the form of an increase in platelet counts significantly in the provision of 200 g / 500 mL of achieving an increase in 203 / mm3 within 7 days.

Abstract

Has done research with the title ”Antimicrobial Test Ethanol Leaf Extract Tread Liman (Elephantopus  scaber  L.) by Using Method TLC-Bioautography”. The purpose of this study was to determinethe chemical components and antimicrobial activity of ethanol. The extracts obtanied of leaf by maceration using ethanol 96% solvent. The preliminary research was done by screening test using microbial test to ward ethanol 96% extract of Tapak Liman leaf (Elephantopus  scaber  L.) which where use in 1mg/ml. The result showed that the etanol 96% extract inhibit growth of bacterial Escherchia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Vibrio sp. The best obtained from reparation though TLC-Bioautography by means eluen n-hexane : ethyl acetate (3: 1). He results showed that the ethanol extract of leaves of Tread liman (Elephantophus scaber L.) has antimicrobial activity and contains several compounds that have antimicrobial activity.

Abstract

A research study of quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) and molecular docking of Oxabicycloheptene Sulfonamide (OBHS) derivates as Estrogen Receptor α (ERα) antagonist in Cervical Cancer treatment was performed. This study aims to find similarities QSAR models of Oxabicycloheptene Sulfonamide derivates as ERα antagonist and assess the interaction model of Oxabicycloheptene Sulfonamide derivates towards the side of the ERα (pdb code:   1G50   and   3ERT)   binding   (binding   site).   In   this   research   tested   against   9 Oxabicycloheptene Sulfonamide derivate compounds. The first, drawing compounds and ab initio optimization at the HyperChem program. Further test descriptor values, statistical calculation method multilinier regression analysis, z-score validation and Leave-One-Out validation method. Obtained from experiments performed equation : log 1/IC50 = 5.2006 + (- 3.52E-06 AM1_Eele) + (4.46E-05 AM1_HF) + (0.5737 log S) + (0.8919 mr) + (-0.0392 vol), which n = 9, r2 = 0.9404, and q2 = 0.7388. In the process of molecular docking, ligand and receptor preparation done first before to performing docking simulation. Obtained results from docking to protein code 1G50 experiments which compound 13 showed better results with a docking score (S) -12.2016. Then, results from docking to protein code 3ERT experiments which compound 12 showed better results with a docking score (S) -10.3484.

Abstract

The  formulation  of  herbal  preparations  have  been  done  scrub  cream  white soybean dregs and arabica coffee dregs using a variation of the type of emulsifier, the nonionic surfactant (tween 80 and span 80) and a anionic surfactant (sodium lauryl sulfate). This study aims to determine the type of emulsifier which has good physical stability. Test stability scrub cream dosage is determined based on observations of organoleptic (color, smell and shape), creaming, viscosity, size of the dispersed drops, pH and phase inversion on the condition before and after accelerated storage at a temperature of 5oC and 35oC. Statistical analysis showed that the RAK emulsifier no significant differences on viscosity scrub cream before and after the storage accelerated and does not give any influence on organoleptic, the size of the dispersed drops, the pH before and after accelerated storage. The results of the study showed no creaming and inverse phase with all the scrub cream, so that all can be categorized as scrub cream with good stability.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai uji aktivitas mukolitik ekstrak etanol daun tembelekan (Lantana camara Linn.). Daun tembelekan (Lantana camara Linn.) secara tradisional telah digunakan masyarakat Indonesia sebagai obat batuk.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek ekstrak dari daun tembelekan sebagai mukolitik secara in vitro dan mengetahui kisaran konsentrasi yang memberikan efek setara dengan efek asetilsistein 0,1%. Penelitian ini meliputi maserasi dan uji aktivitas mukolitik dari ekstrak. Uji aktivitas mukolitik meliputi penentuan waktu alir menggunakan viskometer Ostwald dan penentuan kerapatan sampel uji menggunakan piknometer. Aktivitas mukolitik dilakukan secara in vitro terhadap penurunan viskositas mukus sapi. Larutan uji dibuat dengan konsentrasi ekstrak 0,1; 0,5; dan 1% b/b dicampur dengan larutan mukus-dapar fosfat pH 7 20:80 b/b. larutan uji diinkubasi pada suhu 37oC selama 30 menit. Asetilsistein 0,1% digunakan sebagai kontrol positif. Kontrol negatif adalah larutan mukus tanpa ekstrak dan kontrol positif asetilsistein.Nilai viskositas yang diperoleh dianalisis statistik menggunakan uji ANAVA, dilanjutkan uji LSD dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan 99% untuk mengetahui perbedaan antar kelompok perlakuan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol dari daun tembelekan dengan konsentrasi 0,1; 0,5; dan 1% telah menunjukkan aktivitas mukolitik secara in vitro. Ekstrak etanol dari daun tembelekan konsentrasi 0,5% memiliki aktivitas mukolitik setara dengan asetilsistein 0,1% secara in vitro.

Abstract

Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is a molecular target that is widely studied and has a crucial role in the last decade. The high contribution of COX-2 in inflammation and inhibiting function of 2-AG oxygenation by COX-2 inhibitors in inflammatory, open a new chapter dealing with the research on inhibition of COX-2. The purpose of this study is to determine the physical-chemical properties that play an important role in the activity of lumiracoxib derivates based QSAR equation and look from the interaction of ligand-receptor through docking simulations. Statistical analysis was calculated by multilinear regression analysis using SPSS Statistics 17.0. Leave One Out cross validation, Pearson correlation, and the relationship of IC50 experiments and IC50 predictions curve are used to obtain QSAR equation with significantly statistic criteria. Molecular docking to study ligand-receptor interactions, performed using MOE 2009.10. Hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues on the receptor 4OTY include Ser A530 and Tyr A385 with the best scoring value in compound 8 is -8.0976 and the receptor 3HS6 include Ser A530, Tyr A385, Tyr A355 with the best scoring value in compound 1 is -6.34934. QSAR models show the best QSAR equation: Log (1/IC50) = -92.2384 + 0.5327 AM1_dipole + (-0.00049) AM1_E + 13.3123 log S + 35.7654 mr + (-0.5770 VSA).

Abstract

Research conducted acute toxicity test of ethanol extract of cashew Klika (Anacardium occidentale L.) in male mice (Mus musculus). This study aims to determine the ethanol extract LD50 Guava Klika Mede supply all oral and toxic symptoms were observed. This study used 25 male mice were divided into five treatment groups. The first group received 0.5% CMC-Na as the control group II, III, IV and V were given sample Klika cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) with successive doses 40mg/20 gram BB mice, 80mg/20 gram BB mice, 160mg/20 gram BB mice and 320mg/20 gram BB mice. Prior to treatment, the mice were subjected to a prior fasting and received the test substance, in accordance with the calculated dose.The observations of toxic effects based on changes in the behavior of mice such as excessive salivation diarrhea, urinasi, decreased motor activity, aggressive behavior and respiratory changes with time of the successive observation 5, 10. 15, 30, 60, 120, 180 and 240 minutes. For the determination of LD50 values are based on the number of mice in each group died within 24 hours to 7 days. Analysis of data menuntukan toxic effects of the most dominant motion is the effect of the decrease in activity. The results of calculations using the LD50 values obtained Klika Thompson and Weil extract cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.) was 4923.45 mg / KgBB so that the level of toxicity in this category Lu "Toxic Medium".
