Abstract

Inspired by the different usage patterns, preferences, and perceived effectiveness of AI tools to support English productive skills, the study provides their comparative analysis among students in Indonesia and Russia. The study used a mixed-methods approach with a convergent parallel design to conduct the research.  While the researcher employed online questionnaires containing ordinal scales using Likert-type items to collect quantitative data, interviews with open-ended questions were used to get qualitative data. There are 175 students from each country as the research sample. The study results confirm that Russian students access AI weekly or monthly, and Indonesian students use AI tools daily. Students in both countries admit that chatbots and language learning apps are their preferred AI tools. In terms of perceptions, while Indonesian students consider AI a beneficial tool to support their writing, Russian students classify AI tools as a valuable companion in speaking. They also stated their neutrality due to excessive accuracy and dependency. To develop AI tools, students highlighted the essence of more tailored, interactive, and attainable features. In conclusion, although AI tools support English productive skills, there is a need to incorporate pedagogical guidance and ethical considerations in their implementation.

Abstract

Penelitia$n ini bertu$ju$a$n u$ntu$k mengeta$hu$i perbeda$a$n penga$ru$h a$nta$ra$ model pembela$ja$ra$n berba$sis ma$sa$la$h terha$da$p kema$mpu$a$n berpikir kritis ma$tema$tika$ pa$da$ siswa. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain post test only control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Su$bjek penelitia$n meliba$tka$n siswa$ kela$s IV da$ri Gu$gu$s III Keca$ma$ta$n Ku$bu$ta$mba$ha$n. Seba$nya$k 30 siswa$ da$ri SD Negeri 1 Bengka$la$ da$n SD Negeri 2 Bengka$la$ berpera$n seba$ga$i kelompok eksperimen, sementa$ra$ 29 siswa$ da$ri SD Negeri 1 Bila$ da$n SD Negeri 2 Bila$ berpera$n seba$ga$i kelompok kontrol. Penelitia$n ini menggu$na$ka$n desa$in ku$a$ntita$tif denga$n pendeka$ta$n post test only control grou$p design. Abstract

Artikel[A1]  ini mengkaji penguatan pendidikan karakter di sekolah melalui pendekatan studi literatur dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa analisis dokumen, jurnal ilmiah, buku, dan kebijakan pendidikan terbaru yang dipublikasikan antara tahun 2019 hingga 2025, dikumpulkan melalui platform akademik terpercaya seperti Google Scholar dan ScienceDirect. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan implementasi pendidikan karakter secara efektif sangat tergantung pada integrasi menyeluruh dalam kurikulum dan partisipasi aktif semua pemangku kepentingan, termasuk guru, orang tua, dan masyarakat, yang mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengamalan nilai moral serta sosial pada siswa. Meskipun begitu, tantangan utama masih muncul dari kurangnya kompetensi dan pelatihan guru terkait pendidikan karakter, tekanan sistem akademik yang berorientasi pada hasil, serta pengaruh sosial dan media sosial yang bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai positif. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya sinergi yang lebih kuat antara kebijakan, pelatihan, serta sistem monitoring berkelanjutan guna memastikan keberhasilan jangka panjang dalam membangun karakter siswa secara holistik dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Grammar plays a fundamental role in language learning, yet many students encounter challenges that hinder their mastery. These challenges can be categorized into cognitive, emotional, and instructional barriers, which impact learners' ability to engage with grammar effectively. This study investigates the dominant elements within these barriers and explores Indonesian university students' perceptions of grammar learning. Employing a quantitative descriptive design, this study used a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire of 28 items divided into four sections. The participants were 300 randomly selected university students majoring in English Education in Indonesia. The data were analyzed statistically using descriptive statistics, particularly mean scores, to determine trends and dominant elements. The findings revealed that in the cognitive barrier, the most dominant difficulties were applying grammar rules under pressure and needing more time to understand concepts. In the emotional barrier, the highest scores were related to anxiety when speaking and the belief that emotions affected learning. Regarding instructional barriers, students felt they needed more real-life practice and interactive, contextual lessons. Furthermore, the perception data indicated a generally positive attitude toward grammar learning, highlighting its importance and relevance. The study implies that teachers should address all dimensions to enhance grammar instruction and student success, aligning with the language and pedagogical innovation thrust and contributing to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education).

Abstract

The Mendeley and other automatic citation applications are used to help make the writing process more effective and avoid plagiarism. It is used massively in this digital age. Then, this case study aims to explore the motives behind plagiarism and the role of the Mendeley application and other online tools in avoiding plagiarism in Indonesia’s tertiary education. The primary data was gathered by interviewing five master's students from one of the public universities in Indonesia. Then, the data is processed by transcribing, coding, selective, and axial coding. The results show five primary motives for plagiarism based on the interview: the lack of awareness and understanding of plagiarism, negative personal attitude, the ease of internet access, pressure from several aspects, lack of competency, and institutional factors. In terms of the role of Mendeley's application to avoid plagiarism, it is adequate to confirm, justify, and claim the issue conveyed in scientific work, highlight a particular idea, criticize or approve the premise of others, and build the argument. It can be concluded that there are various reasons scholars commit plagiarism, and the Mendeley application, as well as some other artificial intelligence tools, can help to avoid it. However, scholars need to uphold academic integrity and understand the use of the Mendeley application for educational purposes

Abstract

The difficulty vocational students have in understanding the chronology of historical events is the background of this study. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of digital infographic media on the chronological thinking ability of students in class XI MPLB at SMK Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. The research method used a quantitative experimental approach with a true experimental post-test-only control design. This study involved 48 students who were divided into experimental and control groups. Data collection was done through cognitive tests and documentation, with data analysis using a t-test. The results showed that the use of digital infographic media had a significant effect on students' chronological thinking ability, where the experimental class showed better ability than the control class. Digital infographic media proved to be effective in helping students understand the chronology of historical events, improve understanding of cause-and-effect relationships, and increase interest and motivation to learn. This research has implications for the importance of integrating digital technology in history learning and developing students' chronological thinking skills in a temporal context.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas implementasi nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam pembentukan karakter melalui pengajaran ilmu pengetahuan dan kebudayaan di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, serta pendekatan kualitatif melalui wawancara dan observasi langsung di tingkat sekolah dasar yang telah menerapkan integrasi nilai Pancasila secara aktif. Data dikumpulkan dari guru, siswa, dan kepala sekolah untuk mendapatkan gambaran holistik tentang proses dan tantangan dalam implementasi program sejak dini ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kurikulum mampu meningkatkan kualitas karakter siswa, termasuk aspek empati, kepedulian sosial, dan rasa nasionalisme yang tinggi, sekaligus memperkuat kompetensi akademik mereka. Meskipun demikian, terdapat tantangan signifikan yang dihadapi, seperti kurangnya pemahaman dan kompetensi guru, serta keterbatasan infrastruktur dan fasilitas pendidikan yang memadai. Temuan ini menegaskan perlunya pelatihan khusus untuk guru dan peningkatan fasilitas sebagai langkah strategis mendukung implementasi. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya disampaikan agar pengembangan pendidikan karakter berbasis Pancasila dapat berjalan secara berkelanjutan dan efektif, sekaligus memperkuat dasar nasionalisme dan moralitas anak bangsa.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of teachers’ instructional supervision on students’ conceptual understanding in the language of mathematics. Specifically, it seeks to determine the relationship between instructional supervision components—organizational skills, goal setting, environment structuring, and help-seeking—and the conceptual understanding of 433 second-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) students at a community college in Bukidnon, Philippines. A descriptive-correlational research design was employed. Data were collected using two validated survey instruments: a 65-item adapted conceptual understanding test, and a 23-item instructional supervision questionnaire modified, both of which demonstrated acceptable reliability. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. Despite generally positive perceptions of instructional supervision, students showed low levels of conceptual understanding. Statistically significant relationships were found between conceptual understanding and two supervision components: environment structuring (p = 0.001) and help-seeking (p = 0.002). Further, regression analysis identified environment structuring as a significant predictor of conceptual understanding (F = 3.876, p = 0.004). The findings suggest that instructional supervision, particularly in structuring learning environments and promoting help-seeking behavior, plays a crucial role in enhancing students’ grasp of mathematical concepts. The study recommends that teachers and school administrators develop strategies that strengthen these areas to improve mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Hakikat manajemen sekolah adalah menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang memudahkan tercapainya tujuan yang telah ditetapkan. Mempertahankan mutu pembelajaran memerlukan fokus yang teratur pada perbaikan dan peningkatan mutu pembelajaran. Supervisi mempunyai dampak yang sangat positif terhadap profesionalisme guru sekolah dan oleh karena itu dinilai mempunyai dampak yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan sekolah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Menganalisis model supervisi yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di SMKN 1 Garut; dan 2) Mendeskripsikan tahapan supervisi yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran di SMKN 1 Garut. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan bersifat deskriptif dan kualitatif. Indikator yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini antara lain: 1) Prinsip kurikulum mandiri yang berkaitan dengan standar nasional pendidikan; 2) Motivasi guru dalam mengajar; 3) Pelaksanaan supervisi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, supervisi pendidikan SMKN 1 Garut telah terkelola dengan baik. Pendampingan rekan sejawat dalam kelompok mata pelajaran meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir dan kreativitas guru dalam mengajar, di samping peran guru dalam memberikan dukungan yang mendorong peningkatan mutu pengajaran. Tindak lanjut hasil pengajaran oleh kepala sekolah pun tidak hanya membantu guru dalam mengajar, tetapi juga menyelenggarakan pelatihan dan lokakarya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengajar guru.

Abstract

Despite growing interest in generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in educational technologies, limited research has explored how it specifically affects pedagogical practices in a project-based learning (PjBL) atmosphere. This study investigates how university teachers utilize GenAI in PjBL, emphasizing their roles, challenges faced, and the strategies they employed during classroom practices. The study adopted a convergent mixed-methods approach, which involved a quantitative survey of 63 university teachers and qualitative interviews with six selected participants to gain deeper insights. The findings revealed that teachers play a central role in guiding students’ use of GenAI tools as evidenced by M (3.67) and SD (0.72), acting as facilitators, instructional designers,  and ethical gatekeepers. While GenAI is increasingly incorporated for tasks such as brainstorming, drafting, and feedback in student projects, the use of GenAI in PjBL raises several pedagogical and institutional challenges. Key concerns faced challenges were varying levels of digital and AI literacy among teachers, difficulties in assessing AI-generated work, and a lack of clear policies. Additionally, the study highlighted actionable strategies for structured support systems and professional development to enhance teachers’ confidence and competence in using GenAI tools effectively and ethically, such as embedding AI literacy into faculty training, developing assessment frameworks adapted to AI-enhanced learning, and promoting reflective use of GenAI in collaborative settings. This research contributes to the understanding of how teachers navigate emerging technologies and offers guidance for institutions aiming to align GenAI integration with pedagogically sound and ethically responsible practices in higher education.
