Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, financial attitudes, and lifestyle on the financial behavior of students in Yogyakarta. Design/methodology/approach: This study employs a quantitative research method using the SEM-PLS approach. Data were collected through questionnaires with numerical and textual responses. The target population consists of university students in Yogyakarta, with a non-probability sampling method and purposive sampling technique utilized. The sample size was determined 250 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 3.0. Research Findings: Financial literacy enhances financial behavior, with higher literacy levels leading to better financial management among students and fostering financial independence. Positive financial attitudes also improve financial behavior by promoting effective budgeting and informed decision-making. Additionally, a positive lifestyle aids financial management, as students who embrace healthy lifestyles are more aware of saving and investing, cultivating good financial habits for the future. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study contributes both academically and practically; academically, it serves as a foundation for further research in financial literacy, suggesting the inclusion of additional variables, such as digital finance and students' understanding of loans and debt, as well as psychological, social, and cultural aspects.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study explores the direct and indirect effects of job stress on employee loyalty with the mediation of job satisfaction of bank employees in East Java. Design/methodology/approach: This research is explanatory. The research was conducted on bank employees in East Java, the population. Data was collected through questionnaires and purposive sampling. The number of samples required was 160 respondents. SmartPLS software is used to analyze data and answer research hypotheses. Research Findings: The results provide empirical evidence that job stress has no significant effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction significantly affects employee loyalty, and job satisfaction can mediate between job stress and job satisfaction. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The practical implications can be used as a consideration for banking management in generating employee loyalty.

Abstract

Research Aims: Food is essential to human survival, but the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant risks to the food value chain in many countries, including South Africa (SA). The pandemic disrupted the food supply chain, creating an unprecedented challenge for the SA food and beverage industry. This study aims to use time series methods to investigate and understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected food and beverage sales trends in SA. Design/methodology/approach: The monthly food and beverage sales data is analysed using the Box-Jenkins methodology. Research Findings: A SARIMA(0,1,1)(1,1,1)12 model is confirmed as the best model based on the Akaike Information Criterion. The Root Mean Square Error and Mean Absolute Error metrics support the model's forecasting performance. The findings reveal that the COVID-19 pandemic harmed the food and beverage industry, with sales not yet fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels. This highlights the severity of the pandemic's effects on South Africa’s food and beverage industry. However, there is a positive sign of recovery, with future food and beverage sales expected to rise. This recovery is driven by the adoption of digital technologies by many food and beverage companies, enabling them to adjust to the evolving circumstances. Businesses adopting digital solutions like online ordering, delivery platforms, and mobile marketing witness a more robust recovery. Such investments aid food and beverage companies to broaden their clientele, improve operations, and adapt to changing consumer demands post-pandemic. Expanding online ordering, subscription-based delivery, contactless payments, and catering to dietary needs attracts new customers and enhances brand reputation. Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to analyse the effect of ethical leadership (EL) on pro-enviromental behaviour (PEB). In addition, this study also examines the mediating role of organisational commitment and green work climate (GWC) in determining this relationship. This research was conducted on permanent employees in Batu City Government Design/methodology/approach: The collected data were analysed using PLS analysis. EL positively and significantly influences PEB. In addition, organisational commitment plays a role in mediating the relationship between EL and PEB. Similarly, the analysis shows that GWC mediates the relationship between EL and PEB. This study is novel in that it analyses public service workers, whereas previous studies have focused on manufacturing companies or other institutions. Research Findings/Contribution: Leaders who have ethical values are likely to optimise employees to adopt PEB. Institutions should focus on maintaining organisational commitment and a GWC that supports sustainability so that it can be key in facilitating the influence of EL on PEB.

Abstract

Research Aims: The aim of this research is to analyze the role of work engagement in mediating the relationship between job crafting and work family enrichment. The population selected in this study were employees of UPTD PUSKESMAS Bringkoning, Banyuates District, Sampang Regency. Design/methodology/approach: The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, namely taking sample members from the population by determining certain criteria. The sample from this research were employees of UPTD PUSKESMAS Bringkoning, Banyuates District, Sampang Regency, who were 36 permanent employees. The data analysis method uses partial least squares (PLS). Research Findings: The results of this research prove that there is a direct influence of job crafting , work engagement on work family enrichment and there is an indirect influence of job crafting on work family enrichment and work engagement is able to mediate the relationship between job crafting and work family enrichment for employees of UPTD PUSKESMAS Bringkoning, Banyuates District, Sampang Regency. However, the direct relationship is higher when compared to the indirect influence Theoretical Contribution/Originality: By bridging these concepts, this research explores a deeper understanding of how changes in an individual's work can have a positive impact on their family life. The integration of the concepts of job crafting and work-family enrichment, especially in the context of health services, provides new insights into the dynamics of the relationship between work and personal life. The findings of this research have significant implications for human resource management in developing policies and practices that support employee well-being and balance between work life and family life.

Abstract

Research Aims: The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the Google Search Volume Index and difference of opinions affect the Indonesia Stock Exchange's IPO underpricing phenomenon. Design/methodology/approach: With secondary data, this study uses quantitative methodologies. Purposive sampling is the approach used for sampling, and 416 research samples are included in total. Multiple linear regression analysis is the method utilized for data analysis. Research Findings: This study demonstrates that difference of opinions has a negative effect on the underpricing phenomenon during initial public offers (IPOs). Investor interest has a favourable effect on the underpricing phenomenon during initial public offerings (IPOs). This shows that even when investors look for additional information about a company's shares on the Internet, they are still interested in information about initial price changes. As a result, investors' focus is drawn to the underpricing of public offerings (IPOs), which leads to a difference of opinions on the IPO's value. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study provides an understanding of the influence of the Google Search Volume Index and Differences of Opinion on the Phenomenon of IPO underpricing on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. These findings provide valuable insights for investors and companies seeking to optimize their investment and funding policies.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study analyses the impact of work discipline and quality of work life on employee performance, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Conducted in an industrial setting in Batamindo, it examines how compliance with organizational rules and work-life balance influence performance and satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach: Using a quantitative approach, data was collected through surveys from 100 employees selected via purposive sampling. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was used for regression and path analysis to assess direct and indirect relationships. Research Findings: Work discipline does not significantly impact employee performance or job satisfaction. However, quality of work life positively influences both job satisfaction and performance, with job satisfaction acting as a key mediator. Additionally, job satisfaction significantly improves employee performance, but it does not mediate the relationship between work discipline and performance. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of employee performance drivers, offering valuable insights for organizational policies, HR management, and future research.

Abstract

Research Aims: to examine how career management and employee well-being are related and to emphasize the critical role that career management plays. Design/methodology/approach: This study gathered 201 articles from Scopus-indexed journals between 2015 and 2025 and examined 12 of them using a systematic literature review methodology. Research Findings: The findings demonstrated that employees' subjective well-being, work engagement, and career satisfaction are positively impacted by successful career management practices, such as job designing, career skill development, and career adaptability. However, there is the discrepancy between theory and practice, especially in the implementation of career strategies that support digital skills needs in organizations. In addition, career development programs such as careers skill have been shown to increase employees' self-efficacy and resilience in the face of change. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: pointing out the gap between theory and reality in digital career management and suggesting a comprehensive strategy to address how career management affects workers' well-being. The studies have important implication for human capital managers as they create career management policies and procedures to enhance workers' well-being during the digital transformation.

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to analyse the role of motivation as a mediator in the relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance at Wyndham Opi Hotel Palembang. The research is based on the phenomenon of the hotel's failure to achieve its specified targets and the relatively high employee turnover rate. Design/methodology/approach: The study was conducted on a population of 150 employees, with data collected through interviews and questionnaires. The analysis technique employed was Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to assess the relationships between affective, continuous, and normative commitments, motivation, and employee performance. Research Findings: The findings indicate that affective, continuous, and normative commitments significantly influence employee motivation. However, when examining their direct impact on employee performance, only normative commitment was found to have a significant effect, whereas affective and continuous commitments did not. Furthermore, motivation was found to significantly mediate the relationship between affective and normative commitment to employee performance but not for continuous commitment. These results explain the persistent high turnover rate at Wyndham Opi Hotel Palembang and highlight the need for better hotel management strategies to strengthen employee commitment and reduce turnover. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study contributes to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence on the mediating role of motivation in the relationship between organizational commitment and employee performance. It emphasizes the need for organizations to enhance normative commitment and employee motivation to improve performance and reduce turnover, particularly in the hospitality industry

Abstract

Research Aims: This study aims to analyze the influence of training, compensation, and work environment on employee performance by considering gender differences as a moderating variable. The study seeks to determine the extent to which these factors contribute to performance enhancement among male and female employees at PT POS Indonesia DIY. Design/methodology/approach: A quantitative research approach was employed using the Multi-Group Analysis (MGA) method in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study was conducted on a population comprising all employees of PT POS Indonesia DIY, with a sample of 117 respondents selected through random sampling. Data were collected via a Likert scale-based questionnaire, measuring key indicators of training, compensation, work environment, and employee performance. Research Findings: The findings indicate that the work environment plays a dominant role in improving employee performance, whereas training has a limited impact, and compensation does not significantly influence performance. When analyzed by gender, the results reveal that for male employees, only the work environment has a strong effect on performance, while training and compensation are insignificant. In contrast, for female employees, training has a weak effect, compensation remains insignificant, and the work environment continues to be the key determinant of performance. Theoretical Contribution/Originality: This study contributes to the literature on employee performance by providing empirical evidence on the differential impact of training, compensation, and work environment across gender groups. The findings highlight the necessity of prioritizing a conducive work environment to enhance productivity, as well as the importance of considering gender-specific responses when designing organizational policies. From a managerial perspective, optimizing work facilities and fostering a supportive organizational culture are critical strategies for improving employee performance.
