Many studies found out that peer review can improve students' abilities in writing activities. In conducting peer reviews, students carry out two roles, namely as review providers and receivers. Do these two roles have a positive impact on improving writing skills? To answer this question, this study aims to identify students' perceptions as review providers and receivers on writing activities and to analyze the comparison of the benefits received from the role of review providers and receivers. The data in this study were taken from 50 second semester students who took the intermediate writing course at the English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University. The instrument used in the data collection was a questionnaire consisting of 40 closed questions. The obtained data was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. The results of data analysis show that review receivers get greater benefits from peer review activities compared to providers. The benefits of peer review are far greater for receivers, especially in terms of better thesis statement formulation and better grammar used in their essay writing. The benefits of peer review for review providers and receivers in terms of increasing vocabulary are almost the same. However, overall it can be stated that the review provider and receiver gave a positive response to the peer review method in essay writing.

This research explores the sociological aspects of the film Call Me by Your Name by investigating indicators of LGBT orientation, factors forming LGBT orientation, and the director's motivation in making the film. This research uses qualitative methods, emphasizing analysis of the film itself as the main source and complementing it with additional sources from existing literature and director interviews. Focusing on the romantic relationship between Elio and Oliver, the researcher revealed that most LGBT indicators in the film are reflected in the behavior and dialogue of the two main characters. Researchers also found that there are internal influences including genetic factors and weak moral and religious values, external influences include the influence of the environment around the main character which is also closely related to same-sex relationships. Director Luca Guadagnino created this film adaptation as an expression of himself inspired by the LGBT-themed novel by André Aciman which aims to present a narrative that encourages growth and change in an individual without being limited by boundaries and differences.

The purpose of this research is to explain how racism against black people is portrayed in the movie Till (2022), analyze the impacts of racism, and the resolution of that racism. This research is a literary study research with a sociological approach. The results of this research show that the level of racism that occurs is very high. Racism is seen when the prejudice and hatred of white people is shown towards black people. The great hatred of black people led white people to go so far that it led to murder. Even after the murder, there was no justice for black people, it was shown that justice was more on the side of white people. Suffering and injustice encourage black people to fight for their rights as humans in order to live better. Racism as a whole has a very bad impact on the people affected, especially minorities, they will be looked down upon and treated arbitrarily. It is hoped that this research can increase understanding of the acts of racism depicted in the movie Till and aims to increase people awareness by examining the depiction of racism in the movie.

To unpack the complexities that ELF undergoes within the current methodology of ELT, this study bears down to reveal the challenges of incorporating the two practices presented by the increasing stigma attached to the “correct” use of language. Through a thorough analysis of theories and previous studies, the books and articles that span the years 2020 to 2023 (previous studies) are chosen to explore and comprehend the theories to dismantle the common preconception that influences the integration of ELF into ELT, as well as the principles of ELF that educators should follow along with the framework supporting ELT. It explores how the resilience of current EFL in ELT practices is towards Western English norms and the consequent consequences for both teachers and students. As a result, due to the tendency that is firmly ingrained in the norms of Western English, which has an impact on learning resources and evaluation methods, a shift in the paradigm of ELT practices is needed to accommodate students’ different learning styles, cultural backgrounds, and linguistics origins to ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to learn. At the end of this review paper, suggestions for further research and the implications for policymakers of ELT and EFL English teachers regarding the issues have been made.

The findings revealed that the teachers do not fully comprehend the concept of DI, especially in the analysis of student learning profiles, even though socialization regarding differentiated learning has already been given by the government. The challenges that teachers encountered were the insufficient training on how to identify and accommodate the needs of slow learner students, who constitute a large proportion of their classes. In concussion, the English teachers have already had the basic concept of differentiated learning, but have not been able to implement it effectively in practice.

This study used a descriptive qualitative research design. The data of the study were collected through in-depth interviews. The collected data were then analyzed using content analysis. This research was conducted in a government senior high school in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Three English teachers were purposively selected to be the participants of the study. From the results of the study, it was found that the teachers have a good understanding of the basic concept of direct instruction. The study also found several challenges facing the teachers in implementing DI which include the big class size, constraints with time and resources to design and deliver material for different learners. This study suggests that teachers play an active role as a facilitator for students in every learning process and are able to recognize the characters, learning interests of students, and learning styles of different students.
