Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of smartphone sharing on student learning achievement and the efforts and obstacles faced over smartphone sharing on student learning achievement. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study concluded that the impact of smartphone sharing on student learning achievement is that teachers and students are facilitated to be able to communicate via smartphones in following and discussing learning, especially during face-to-face restrictions at school, the use of smartphones greatly supports the Teaching and Learning Activities process. In addition, the distribution of smartphones in addition to supporting the learning process can also develop themselves outside of school by looking for references and information on the internet. Efforts made on the impact of smartphone distribution are teachers controlling students in using smartphones during face-to-face learning, cooperation between parents and teachers to jointly supervise students in the use of smartphones when students are outside school, providing opportunities for students who at the time of sending assignments do not have data packages can directly submit offline. The obstacles faced in the distribution of smartphones are student unawareness of the proper use of smartphones, teachers as humans have limitations to supervise students optimally, internet networks and also the cost of purchasing data packages are an obstacle, because not all students have the same economic ability to buy internet data packages.

Abstract

The increased usage of electronic devices by children has prompted a discussion regarding its impact on emotional intelligence. According to a number of studies, children's emotional intelligence can benefit from the moderate use of electronic devices, including the improvement of social and communication skills. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the positive and negative effects of technology on the emotional intelligence development of children. Utilizing a literature analysis, this study examines the impact of gadget use on children's emotional intelligence. The findings indicate that excessive or uncontrolled use can result in emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, and lack of awareness of the surrounding environment. Therefore, it is essential to limit children's gadget and ensure that they have ample access to activities that foster emotional intelligence. To maximize the benefits of device use for children, parents should play a crucial role in establishing limits and educating their children on emotional intelligence.

Abstract

Mobile technology is one of the technologies that may be utilized in the learning process, which has become an important component of education. With mobile technology, learning may occur anywhere and at any time, without regard to location or duration. Mobile learning can also make students more engaged and independent in their learning, hence enhancing their independence in connection to their ability to utilize information technology. This research focuses on developing interactive mobile applications for 2D animation practice material at the vocational high school level because practice material is often difficult for students to comprehend; therefore, the existence of alternative mobile-based learning media can make difficult material easier for students to comprehend. Application features are adapted based on the needs analysis, and testing with students and subject matter experts demonstrates that interactive media applications for learning 2D animation practices based on android can be an alternative for students and teachers in supporting practicum material at school, so that the existence of alternative learning media can provide options for students to learn independently and improve their skills.

Abstract

One of the fundamental journalistic skills required of students, particularly in the Indonesian Education and Literature Study Program, is the ability to write news that produces events that are directly experienced and observed in social reality. This research is a developmental one, and its goal is to make Moodle-based E-Learning media for learning to write news with tools like PowerPoint software, Google Slides, and moodle. This research is being conducted in the United Kingdom. The research and development method and the define, design, development, and dissemination (4D) development model are being utilized in this study. The data was gathered using a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to two media experts and two material experts. Data analysis techniques used include validation analysis by experts using a Likert Scale. The results of the research are in the form of the feasibility of learning media products totaling three learning materials using a Likert scale with a score of 1-5 as follows: a) Media experts obtain a score of 82.31% from the validation results and are included in the very feasible category; b) Material experts get a score of 78.09% from the validation results and are included in the appropriate category. Based on the feasibility findings, it has been determined that Moodle-based E-Learning media is appropriate for news writing learning courses.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between students reading habit and their English achievement. Also, this study aimed to find out the level of students reading habit, and the level of their English achievement. An adapted questionnaire from Wardani (2019) was distributed to the 10th graders of a private high school in North Sulawesi to find out the level of their reading habits, and the data of their final grade was taken to find out their level of English achievement. Descriptive analysis of mean and Pearson Product Coefficient Correlation were used to answer the research questions. The results showed that: (1) the level of students reading habit was 2.76, which means they have moderate reading habit, (2) the level of their English achievement was 86.09, which means they have good English achievement, and (3) the p = .331 and r = .109 which indicates that there is no significant correlation between students reading habit and their English achievement; however, the correlation was found to be positive but only weak. The researchers concluded that reading habit is not a significant factor that has a relationship with students English achievement. It is recommended that future researchers or teachers can try to identify other factors that have a significant relationship with the students English achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to find out application of the cobb-douglass production function function to msmes and large businesses in stimulating the national income of msmes and large businesses during the pandemic (2015-2019). The type of research used is quantitative research with hypothesis testing which aims to test the influence of the number of MSME and UB business units as well as the number of workers from MSMEs and UB on the national income of MSMEs and UB using a panel regression model. The results of this study state that In all business units, it is proven that the number of business units has a significant positive effect on the GDP of MSMEs and UB. The influence of labor both as a whole and according to the type of business does not have a significant effect on the GDP of MSMEs and UB. The elasticity of the number of business units positively affects the GDP of MSMEs both as a whole and according to the business unit group. For the overall homogeneity level is in an increasing return to scale condition and according to the group of business units, Micro, Small and Large businesses are in a condition of increasing return to scale, while for the Middle group are in a decreasing return to scale condition. For production intensity, overall and according to business unit groups, no production process in MSMEs and UB focuses on using certain inputs as the dominant input

Abstract

The development of contemporary technology, which prioritizes technology and digitalization, is also applied thoroughly in the Takumi Polytechnic environment, including during learning. As a vocational college that must equip its graduates with certain skills, learning at Takumi Polytechnic is project-based learning with the aim that students have mastered skills and even created something during their studies at Takumi Polytechnic. Opening the Regular Class and the Employee Class in the D3 Japanese Study Program at Takumi Polytechnic is a challenge because there are differences in study time in the two classes but the weight of the material and Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) are the same. This problem is tried to be solved by applying flip learning with the hope that students in the Employee Class can prepare material in advance before carrying out face-to-face lectures in class so that the difference in the length of learning time can be resolved. Research on the application of technology-based flip learning with a project-based learning approach in the D3 Japanese Study Program at Takumi Polytechnic was conducted to find the best learning path. This research was written as an evaluation of the implementation of learning using the technology-based flip learning method with a project-based learning approach in the D3 Japanese Language study program at the Takumi Polytechnic in the first semester of the 2022/2023 entry year.
