Abstract

This article aims to analyze digital parenting behavior in the context of lifelong learning for parents of teenagers. The method used a literature study to collect and analyze related research results. The analysis concludes that the digital era brings both benefits and challenges for parents in educating their children. Children are exposed to digital tools that can sometimes cause negative impacts such as excessive screen use and addiction. However, parents can adapt their parenting by monitoring their children's use of digital devices, setting appropriate limits, and communicating effectively with their children. Lifelong learning is also important for parents, as they can use digital tools to access information and resources to improve their parenting skills. It is important for parents to be aware of the risks and benefits of technology and actively engage in lifelong learning to ensure the healthy development of their children in the digital age.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the Think Pair Share method can reduce misconceptions in the Gas Kinetic Theory material and to determine the misconception profile of cadets of the Automotive Engineering Technology Study Program, Tegal Road Transportation Safety Polytechnic. The subjects in this study were cadets of the Automotive Engineering Technology Study Program, Tegal Road Transportation Safety Polytechnic, batch 9 Class A. The selection of this subject used a random sampling technique by assuming cadets had the same conditions and levels of misconceptions, this is. This is from the results of odd semester exams where the average grade score was almost the same for all grade 9 classes in Physics. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pret-Test-Post-Test design. Data was collected through interviews and test techniques in the form of diagnostic tests conducted before and after remediation learning. The source of data is obtained from the results of the Taruna. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively, including reducing the percentage of misconceptions of cadets and their misconception profiles. The results showed that remediation using the Think Pair Share method can reduce cadet misconceptions. The decrease in the percentage of misconceptions of cadets varies for each sub-material; in the sub-material, the properties of ideal gas misconceptions decreased by 44%. Decreased misconceptions in the sub-meter of the Ideal Gas Laws by 41%. Misconceptions in the sub-material of Gas Kinetic Theory decreased by 30%. Decrease in misconceptions in the energy equipartition submitted by 38%.

Abstract

The existence of the Seblang ritual is still one of the cultural icons of Banyuwangi. Seblang is an authentic ritual because it is only found in the villages of Olehsari and Bakungan. Even though they sound the same, the two have different ritual processes. This study discusses the sacredness of the Seblang bysari ritual and its existence as the dominant culture, with the aim of describing the forms of the sacredness of the Seblang bysari ritual within the frame of Raymond Williams' dominant cultural perspective. The Seblang ritual as the dominant culture has an irreplaceable position because of the form of representation of the original culture itself. Departing from that, then the creation of the Seblang dance was born as a form of residual culture or an alternative to the Seblang ritual. Meanwhile, in the dynamics of its development, the Seblang ritual experiences acculturation between culture and religion, or is referred to as an emergent. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with an ethnographic study approach. This study uses data mining techniques through observation and interviews from sources related to the sacredness of the Seblang bysari ritual. This research describes the existence that has survived to this day in the Seblang ritual, which in the end the Seblang ritual became a culture that was conserved in the form of a dance created by Seblang through the intervention of the Culture and Tourism Office of Banyuwangi Regency. The theory in analyzing this research is Raymond Williams' theory of culture.

Abstract

Rene Descartes says, "cogito ergo sum (I think then I exist)". Man is always thinking about himself and his life. This is self-consciousness. Awareness about improving teaching capacity shows that nothing is permanent in human life but is constantly changing. Therefore, online learning is a thought process that varies from conventionality to professionalism. This change is called awareness of the identity of someone who becomes an educator according to the professional standards of a teacher in teaching and learning activities at school. Online learning forces teachers to increase capacity, especially in learning methods and media use. So far, teachers in Papua have always used conventional learning methods, namely face-to-face in class between teacher and student or lecturer with a student. The learning process, discussion, question-and-answer, and guidance are all controlled by a teacher. However, teachers must improve their professional capacity in teaching, such as no longer patronizing students, but dialogue with students. This change can be meaningful for the world of education in the Land of Papua, especially for young teaching staff, because they are a generation that grew up in this era of change. Meanwhile, elderly teachers are forced to run to adjust to the new way. Even if they seem deodorant, they must be ready to participate in change. What about elementary-level teachers, such as elementary and junior high schools, especially in rural areas? Of course, it will be fascinating because online learning is not only needed to improve quality, but it also takes the ability to operationalize this new way in learning design, it must also be equipped with IT pedagogy, because IT pedagogy itself has not been a raw material for teachers so far.

Abstract

Indonesia is reforming its national education system in order to develop national educational quality. In response to this reform agenda the Ministry of Education and Culture has carried out several changes, such as National Examination which is one of the core components for mapping this quality standard. The objectives of examination) are based on the Ministry of National Education decree focus on measuring student achievement to inform educational quality at the provincial, regency, and school district level. The reform attempts to enhance educational accountability. In addition, the results of the examination were previously used as one of the determinants for student graduation. The examination is a semi-high-stake test where students’ success or failure raises psychological and ethical issues. Furthermore, the use of examination as the instrument to inform the educational quality is debatable. This paper aims to provide a critical analysis of the assessment policy using standardized test) in Indonesia by using Bacchi`s (2009) six questions of “what`s the problem represented to be” (WPR). This framework is used to explore what is the problem represented to be in standardized test examination policy in Indonesia secondary high school. The psychological and the ethical issues as well as an alternative assessment method for improving learning and educational quality will also be addressed at the end of this paper.
