Abstract

Low interest in learning of students is a common problem in social studies learning. The lecture method that is still dominant is considered less relevant to the characteristics of Generation Alpha, who are more responsive to visual and interactive learning. This condition requires the presence of interesting learning media, one of which is crossword media. This study aims to measure the influence of crossword learning media on students' learning interests in social studies subjects. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling techniques from class VIII of SMPN 1 Garut, namely classes VIII G and VIII H. The instruments used included interviews, pretests, posttests, learning interest questionnaires, observations, and reflections. Data were analyzed using validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, the t-test, the Mann-Whitney test,the Pearson correlation test, and the simple linear regression test and supported by the SPSS version 27 device. The results of the study showed that crossword media can increase students' interest in learning by around 66.7%, especially in the aspects of active involvement and discipline. Although no significant correlation was found between posttest results and learning interest scores, changes in students' learning behavior were noticeable. This media is effective in encouraging interest in learning in affective and social contexts if supported by appropriate teaching strategies.

Abstract

This applied research aims to enhance climate change literacy among Social Studies (IPS) teachers in Semarang City through the development of an AI-based board game. The core issues addressed include low digital literacy, limited access to engaging teaching media, and a lack of inclusive pedagogical approaches. Involving 50 teachers from the MGMP IPS forum, the study adopted a participatory, community-based approach comprising four phases: planning, organizing, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, observations, training documentation, and feedback forms. The findings revealed significant improvements in teachers’ digital and pedagogical competencies, along with increased reflective and collaborative learning. The study recommends adopting iterative design methods and ensuring institutional support to sustain this AI-driven instructional innovation in environmental education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kontribusi KUD Susu Sapi Argopuro terhadap peningkatan sosial ekonomi masyarakat dan pemanfaatannya sebagai sumber belajar IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi. Keabsahan data melalui triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data berupa pengumpulan data, reduksi data, verifikasi data dan reduksi data atau kesimpulan. Informan penelitian ini terdiri dari manajer KUD, karyawan koperasi dan masyarakat khususnya anggota KUD Susu Sapi Argopuro.  Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu 1). Kontribusi KUD (Koperasi Unit Desa) Susu Sapi terhadap Peningkatan Sosial Ekonomi Masyarakat meliputi peningkatan kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat, membantu masyarakat / anggota KUD dengan penyediaan kebutuhan sapi (obat-obatan, pakan, alat-alat untuk peternak sapi, dll), penyediaan sapi perah bagi anggota dengan sistem bagi hasil, penyediaan pinjaman bagi anggota, menjadi lahan bisnis bagi masyarakat, edukasi bagi peternak dan masyarakat, serta menyediakan pos tampung di berbagai daerah di sekitar KUD. 2) KUD Susu Sapi Argopuro sangat relevan untuk dijadikan sumber belajar IPS dan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran melalui pendekatan berbasis konteks lokal. Misalnya saja sebagai tempat kunjungan belajar untuk siswa SMP terkait dengan materi aktivitas ekonomi seperti produksi, konsumsi dan distribusi. Begitu juga pada program studi Pendidikan IPS terkait dengan ekonomi pembangunan atau dalam konteks lingkungan seperti pengelolaan limbah.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the social construction of gender roles in fishing communities and the impact of gender role construction on the social position of fishing communities in Tasik Agung Village. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The collection techniques were participatory observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. Analysis Gender Harvard (Harvard Analytical Framework / Harvard Gender Analysis). The results showed that gender roles in fishing communities are formed through local cultural values that regulate the division of labor and social responsibilities between men and women. Although men predominantly serve as the main breadwinners through fishing activities, women also play strategic roles in the household economy and seafood processing. However, women's representation in community power structures remains limited, and their access to resources and decision-making spaces tends to be lower than that of men. This social construction contributes to social stratification that is not fully equal. Therefore, understanding gender relations in coastal communities is important as a basis for encouraging more inclusive and gender-equitable fisher empowerment policies.

Abstract

This study explores how museum-based cultural education serves as a vehicle for community empowerment and cultural literacy by analyzing the case of Museum Galeri Bahari Banuraja (Mugaba) in West Bandung, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that while Mugaba possesses rich maritime and Sundanese heritage collections, its educational program remains passive, with minimal interactive or participatory learning strategies. Limited use of local language, absence of storytelling practices, and weak digital outreach constrain its impact on youth engagement and cultural literacy development. However, the museum has stimulated local tourism and economic interest, suggesting latent potential for community revitalization. To address these challenges, the study recommends incorporating participatory storytelling, training guides in experiential pedagogy, curating intergenerational workshops, enhancing digital platforms, and establishing partnerships with local schools and artists. These strategies aim to reposition rural museums as inclusive, culturally grounded learning hubs. The study contributes to rethinking rural cultural institutions as dynamic platforms for education, identity formation, and sustainable development.
