Abstract

Sports for some people are not only a necessity of daily life but also have been considered a lifestyle. Aside from being a regular alternative to keeping the body fit, it has many other benefits. The rapid development of this lifestyle of sports in urban communities is characterized by the increasing number of community groups that routinely do the type of exercise that can be done in between the limitations of time. Cycling is one of the activities that are much in demand by urbanites, as this type of sport activity gives both convenience and an outlet for an engaging fun. The emergence of cycling groups in urban communities is a reflection of the need for exercise routines that also provides outdoor recreation. There are various kinds of motivations for cyclists, from just wanting to exercise, to travel, to save fuel and avoid traffic, to minimize the effects of air pollution, or to look for new experiences and challenges, including new friendships or as an output of self-actualization. This research uses a qualitative descriptive phenomenological method, as well as a non-random purposive sampling technique on two urban bicycle groups, namely TOC and JGS-SCAM. Data collection was done by using the Google questionnaire application and the data was analyzed interactively by the model of Miles, Huberman, Saldaňa, and the application of second cycle data coding. The questionnaire results obtained were able to classify and characterize the urban cyclists based on their characteristics and motivation, and also determined the strategies for developing urban cyclist tourism by analyzing internal IFAS and external EFAS factors from the motivational characteristics of the urban cyclist, then the strategies were determined by using the SWOT method, ultimately cummulating into plans to develop a cycling tourism for urban communities.

Abstract

The low success rate of pulmonary TB treatment from 2016 to 2017 which decreased from 87.79% to 84.05% and Kupang City itself in 2017 had a treatment success rate of 78.72% which is still far below the national achievement target. Many factors influence the success of pulmonary TB treatment in Kupang City, including the level of education, occupation and the role of the PMO. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the description of the education level of pulmonary TB patients in Kupang City, and (2) the relationship between education level and the success of treatment of pulmonary TB patients in Kupang City. The method used in this research is an analytical survey with a cross sectional design. The population in this study amounted to 378 cases with a sample of 79 samples with the stratify random sampling method. The results showed that there was no relationship between low and high education on the success of tuberculosis treatment in Kupang City with a p-value of 1,000 (Chi-square test (p>0.05), Contingency Coeficient 0.034. Chi-Square test results did not meet the requirements because there are cells with an expected frequency of < 5 and > 20% of all cells, then proceed with the Fisher's Exast test to get the Asymp.Sig (2-Sided) value or p-value of 1,000, because the p-value (0.000) Alpha ( 0.05) it can be concluded that there is no relationship between the level of education and the success of treatment of pulmonary TB patients in Kupang City. From the Contingency Coeficient value obtained a value of 0.034 which means that the close relationship is unidirectional and the close relationship is weak. The conclusions obtained are (1) mostly respondents with low education level managed to recover and a small proportion of respondents with low education were successful in the treatment of pulmonary TB in Kupang City, (2) There is no relationship between education level n and the success of tuberculosis treatment in Kupang City.

Abstract

The level of health in a nation can be determined by the infant and child mortality rate because can describes how big the health problem it is. High infant and child mortality rate is also due to the high incidence of low birth weight. Babies with low birth weight have always been a global health problem, 20 million babies per year 96.5% are born with low weight. This study aims to analyze the determinants of the incidence of low birth weight at the Oesapa Health Center in 2020. Type of this research is a quantitative study with a case control study approach. The study was conducted in the working area of the Oesapa Public Health Center with a sample of 116 mothers, of which 58 mothers with LBW cases and 58 mothers with normal birth weight. The data analysis used was univariabele, bivariabele, and multivariabele analysis with chi square statistical test and multiple logistic regression. The results showed that the factors that influenced the incidence of LBW were age at birth, education level, birth spacing, utilization of ANC examination, consumption pattern with (p= 0.000) and income level (p=0.002) while the factor that had no effect was parity (p= 0.060). Consumption pattern factors (ρ= 0.000), ANC utilization (ρ= 0.001) and education level (p=0.002) were determinant factors for the incidence of LBW. Health centers are expected to be able to utilize various health promotion media in order to increase mother's knowledge of the importance of good consumption patterns and the importance of prenatal care during pregnancy.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a type of disease that attacks the respiratory tract and usually attacks children under five because their immune system is still strong. According to some experts, the cause of this is because toddlers have weak immune systems so they are susceptible to disease. In 2021, there will be 2,212 cases of ARI in toddlers in TTU. The Sasi Health Center is the highest contributor to ARI cases in toddlers in TTU with a total of 578 cases. Data from the Sasi Health Center reported that the Maubeli Village is one of several other villages that contribute to the incidence of ARI in toddlers with a total of 108 cases. This study aims to identify factors associated with the incidence of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in children under five in Maubeli Village, Kefamenanu City District, TTU Regency. This quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach involved 82 children under five as samples, selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis using the chi-square test showed that maternal knowledge (p=0.008), type of cooking fuel (p=0.017), and waste-burning behavior (p=0.030) had significant associations with ARI incidence. Meanwhile, immunization status, kitchen location, and family smoking behavior did not show significant associations. This study recommends improving maternal knowledge about ARI prevention, such as avoiding taking children to the kitchen while cooking, not using firewood as cooking fuel, and refraining from burning waste in residential areas.

Abstract

Vasectomy is a stable contraceptive technique for men by cutting the sperm ducts (vas deferens) that carry sperm out of the testicles. Central Kupang Regency is one of the districts with the lowest coverage of vasectomy contraception, namely there are only 10 male couples of childbearing age who use vasectomy contraception. This study aims to find out the reasons why men of reproductive age participate or not in the use of vasectomy contraception in Kupang Tengah District, Kupang Regency. This type of research was qualitative with the method of interviewing 10 informants consisting of 4 PUS who used vasectomy KB, 5 PUS who did not use vasectomy KB, and 1 PLKB support officer. Data analysis uses thematic analysis and triangulation. The results showed that husbands' knowledge of male contraception was categorized as lacking, because there were still many husbands who did not know about family planning contraception and the lack of sources of information about vasectomy contraception. Some of the respondents in this study had an attitude of not supporting their husbands in using the vasectomy family planning program, so they did not choose vasectomy contraception. In this study it can be seen that men who have had a vasectomy have a place to live far from the place of health services so it takes a long time. Under these circumstances, men still participate in vasectomy. It is suggested to PLKB officers that in counseling about vasectomy family planning not only among mothers, but also husbands so that husbands understand and understand about vasectomy contraception, so that later husbands have a sense of will and are no longer worried about vasectomy contraception.
