The results of the statistical analysis tests using chi-square and fisher's exact tests concluded that physical activity (p-value = 0.000) and energy intake (p-value = 0.000) had significant effects on BMI, while frequency of eating (p-value = 0.174), the variety of food consumed (p-value = 0.104), sex (p-value = 0.299), and age (p-value = 0.775) had no effect on BMI. Abstract

The first five years of a child's life are crucial since children's growth and development occur at a rapid pace throughout this time. If there is an imbalance in consumption, the height will be affected. Stunting in children under the age of five is usually caused by long-term malnutrition. The number of stunting of five-year-old children at Mangulewa Public Health Center (PHC) in 2019 amounted to 178 cases. In 2020, there were 171 cases, including 123 short and 48 very short children. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of stunting in West Golewa District in 2020. This study is quantitative with a case-control design. The population was all under five children in the work area of Mangulewa PHC. The sample consisted of 104 children divided into 52 sampel for both case and control groups. Simple random sampling was used to select the sample. The results showed that the level of maternal education, history of exclusive breastfeeding, history of infectious diseases, and consumption patterns, namely the type, amount, and frequency of eating. were found to be associated with the incidence of stunting. There was no link between birth distance and the occurrence of stunting. Stunting must be immediately handled as it has long and short-term consequences such as psychological development issues, slow body growth, decreased achievement, and learning ability. All of these factors will have an impact on the future of children under the age of five.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a directly infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. During the last three years, most patients with pulmonary tuberculosis were at the Kambaniru Health Center. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between economic status and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis, to determine the level of knowledge about the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis, and to determine the relationship between the physical condition of the house and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. This research is an analytic observational study with a case-control research design. The sample in this study was 110 people, consisting of 55 cases and 55 controls. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between economic status (0.001), level of knowledge (0.022), type of floor (0.001), temperature (0.001), and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. There is no relationship between occupancy density (0.095), ventilation (0.096), humidity (0.233), and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Therefore, there is a need for cooperation between the government, public health center officers, and the community so that efforts can be made to reduce tuberculosis cases at the Kambaniru Health Center.

The sampling technique used in this study is simple random sampling. The data is taken by doing a guided interview with a questionnaire for test statistic chi-square and odd ratio value. The result of this research shows that the variable of dietary habit (p-value = 0,017 < 0,05 and OR = 3,168 (1,309 – 7,665 and 95% CI), physical activities (p-value = 0,028 < 0,05 and OR = 2,971 (1,212 – 7,279 and 95% CI), consumption of alcohol (p-value = 0,023 < 0,05 and OR = 3,285 (1,273 – 8,478 and 95% CI) directly connected with the case of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. The variable of knowledge (p-value = 0,829 > 0,05 and OR = 1,206 (0,516 – 2,816 and 95% CI) does not have any connection with the case of Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. Suggestion for the healthcare workers in the Ende City Health Center to always improve and maintain good service of the health care and  for the people to have regular check-ups and to develop healthy lifestyle such as having proper dietary habits, doing physical activities and controlling the consumption of alcohol to control the level of blood sugar.
