Abstract

This study analyzes factors influencing the job satisfaction of hotel employees in the tourism sector, focusing on innovation and employees’ active role in shaping their work environment. The study involves employees of 1- to 3-star hotels in Batam City, with 352 respondents selected through probability sampling. Data were collected through a 33-item Google Form questionnaire and analyzed using the PLS method with SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that job crafting and innovative work behavior do not directly affect job satisfaction but influence organizational support and employee engagement. Organizational support and employee engagement significantly affect job satisfaction and act as mediators in the relationship between job crafting and innovative work behavior with job satisfaction. Thus, employee job satisfaction cannot be built solely through job crafting or innovation but must be supported by organizational support and employee engagement. Abstract

The creative economy has emerged as a dynamic engine of economic resilience and social innovation, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. This article explores the interaction between co-creation and creative economic ecosystems, emphasizing how participatory governance models can enhance public service delivery and foster inclusive development. Drawing on mixed-methods research involving 450 creative enterprises and over 100 stakeholder interviews across Indonesia, Portugal, and Spain, the study investigates the enabling conditions for co-creation, namely digital literacy, institutional flexibility, and stakeholder engagement. Quantitative analysis using structural equation modeling highlights the mediating role of digital skills in enhancing business sustainability, while qualitative insights reveal barriers such as bureaucratic inertia and algorithmic governance. Case studies of creative kampongs in Bandung, innovation labs in Gipuzkoa, and hybrid tourism platforms in Lisbon demonstrate the transformative potential of collaborative service design. However, the research also cautions against superficial participation, showing that power asymmetries can undermine co-creation outcomes without institutional safeguards. The findings demonstrate the need for adaptive governance structures, integrated cultural impact indicators, and platform reforms to ensure equitable participation. This study promotes a paradigm shift towards relational and iterative governance that values local knowledge, encourages experimentation, and propels sustainable growth by integrating creative economy principles into public policy frameworks. This article contributes to contemporary debates on public innovation by proposing a co-creation framework grounded in cultural vitality, digital empowerment, and democratic inclusivity. Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in driving economic growth; however, the increasing level of competition necessitates that business actors adopt effective and appropriate marketing strategies to sustain their competitiveness and achieve long-term success. This study aims to analyse the application of marketing strategies through the STP concept (Segmenting, Targeting, and Positioning) at Batik Krajan DW MSME in Karangploso. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that market segmentation includes batik enthusiasts, government institutions, schools, and tourists, with the main target being batik enthusiasts and government institutions. Positioning is carried out through the unique Batik Kawung Kates motif and involvement within the Hasta Padma batik industrial area. However, the implementation of the STP strategy has not been optimal, as indicated by fluctuating sales, low compliance of civil servants in wearing batik, and intense competition. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for strengthening the marketing strategy through a more optimal STP concept at Batik Krajan DW MSME. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationships among attitude toward use, behavioral intention to use, and actual use by utilizing the technology acceptance model. A quantitative research design was using multiple linear regressions. The study involved 90 samples from MSMEs in border areas selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that attitude toward use significantly and positively affects actual use directly. Furthermore, behavioral intention to use also has a strong and significant effect on actual use. Behavioral intention to use as a mediator also gives a partial mediation between attitude toward use and actual use. These findings highlight that while positive attitudes can directly affect actual use, behavioral intention further enhances the likelihood of actual technology adoption. The study concludes that effective strategies to improve financial technology usage should simultaneously build positive attitudes and strengthen behavioral intention. Abstract

This inquiry aimed to clarify the degree to which the organizational milieu, together with the equilibrium between occupational obligations and personal life, shapes employee performance, both as separate influences and as a combined set of determinants, within the Personnel and Human Resource Development Agency of Gorontalo Regency. The investigation adopted a quantitative design. Essential information was gathered through questionnaire instruments distributed to a purposively selected group of 48 officials. The resulting data were processed using descriptive summaries and inferential analyses, including t-tests, F-tests, and an adjusted coefficient of determination, with IBM SPSS 22 for Windows serving as the analytical platform. The findings demonstrate that the organizational environment produces a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance in the agency. They also show that work–life balance contributes positively and significantly to performance outcomes. When evaluated jointly, these two variables enhance employees’ performance in a meaningful way. The adjusted R-squared value of 64.2 percent indicates that these predictors explain a substantial share of the performance variance, while the remaining 35.8 percent originates from other influences not addressed in the study. As a result, all research hypotheses are empirically supported and accepted. Keywords: Work Environment; Work-Life Balance; Employee Performance

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Ethical Leadership and Proactive Personality on Innovative Work Behavior mediated by Work Engagement among Generation Z employees working in startup companies in Jakarta. A quantitative approach was applied through the distribution of questionnaires to 145 respondents using a purposive sampling method. The findings indicate that Ethical Leadership has a positive effect on Innovative Work Behavior, while Proactive Personality shows a negative direct influence. However, when mediated by Work Engagement, Proactive Personality exerts a positive effect on innovative behavior. These results suggest that proactive traits do not always directly result in innovation but can foster it when employees feel engaged and energized in their work. This study is limited to startups in Jakarta; therefore, future research is encouraged to broaden the geographical scope and incorporate additional variables to enhance understanding. Keywords: Ethical Leadership; Proactive Personality; Work Engagement; Innovative Work Behavior
