In procurement, the budget was still lacking, procurement team was not from the hospital and the issue of internet networks in Waibakul Regional Hospital. In admissions, lack of human resources, and drug arrival time over the office hours, lack of infrastructure supporting drug storage such as cabinets, refrigerators, AC, pallets, trolleys, and printers, and medicine warehouse. The study also found the lack of human resources in pharmaceutical warehouses and drug distribution. In the extermination stage, no room was available for storing expired drugs and damaged drugs, and the time for drug culling was longer leading to an accumulation of medical waste.

Abstract

This study aims to map the spread of stunting cases based on the availability of clean water. This study used descriptive method to see the frequency of disease by place using Geographic Information System (GIS). The population in this study was children under five years diagnosed with stunting. All population was sampled (total sampling) with a total of 119 cases. The results showed that stunting spread throughout the work area of Bati Primary Health Care (PHC) with the availability of 67 water sources. Most widely used sources were wells (46 in total) and located in areas with an altitude of >1000 meters above sea level. Intensive government stunting efforts are necessary as stunting is a nutritional health issue prioritized in the National Medium-Term Development Plan period 2019-2024. Improving the education of Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) for the community and strengthening commitment and cooperation with relevant parties are required to address the problem of adequate nutrition intake, and water supply in the community.

Abstract

Waigete sub-district is a malaria endemic area, so an effective and efficient vector control strategy is needed. Spatial analysis is the general ability to compile and process spatial data into a variety of different forms in such a way as to provide new or additional meanings. This study aims to spatially analyze the types, types, positive breeding places for larvae and larvae density as well as the habitat index with the incidence of malaria in Waigete District in 2019/2020. This type of research is a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were 39 patients and 53 breeding points with saturated sampling technique. The analysis showed that there were 53 breeding points with nine types, namely lakes, reservoirs, ditches, rice fields, springs, ponds, lagoons, rivers and puddles, malaria cases totaled 39 cases. There is a distribution pattern of breeding places that are close to malaria sufferers with a radius of less than 500 m, there is a high larval density in the Waigete sub-district. The spread of breeding places and positive malaria cases occur at altitudes below 700 mdpl. Communities need to work together to manipulate and modify, clean up breeding places for mosquitoes, and sow biological predators in all breeding places for mosquitoes.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transitional development between childhood and adulthood where adolescents are vulnerable to peer influence in terms of interests, attitudes, appearances, and behaviors. This vulnerability may lead to various issues including reproductive health problems. The incidence of adolescent reproductive health problems such as early pregnancy and childbirth, unsafe abortion, sexually transmitted infections including Human Immunodeficiency Virus, sexual harassment/rape is influenced by factors of knowledge, attitudes, and the role of parents. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors related to reproductive health practices at SMP Negeri 16 Kupang. This research was an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 155 adolescents. The study was conducted in August 2020. Data analysis in this study used simple logistic regression analysis. The results found that 52.9% of adolescents had poor reproductive health practices. Reproductive health practice was associated with knowledge (p = 0.000), and the role of parents (p = 0.048) while attitudes (p = 0.948) was found unrelated to the practice. Abstract

Clean water is a basic human need that supports the sustainability of life and public health. The ability to access clean water determines the amount of household clean water stored, domestic activities and clean, healthy behavior. Women are mostly responsible for water availability in East Nusa Tenggara (73,4%) and based on a gender perspective, this is gender inequality. The study aims to determine the influence of gender inequality on women on water availability in a household setting. This research was an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in East Maradesa Village, Central Sumba Regency in 2020 on 124 families with a sample of 95 women. The data analysis used multiple regression with α=0,05 (5%). The result indicated that gender inequality simultaneously had a significant effect on water availability with a meaning level of 9% (p=0.009; F=4.087; adjusted R2=0.09). The government needs to create a program with gender mainstreaming principles, and provide gender education through the family planning development program for communities in the village of East Maradesa, Central of Sumba.
