Abstract

This study analyze the performance of the existing condition the Tukad Pakerisan road section, as well as the projected performance of the road section for the next 5 years. The method uses the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) method. Data were collected through a survey 2 weekdays and 2 weekend days for 12 hours, which was conducted on two road segments road section. The analysis show that the traffic flow volume on segment A is 2025.45 pcu/hour and B is 1865.65 pcu/hour, the road capacity on segment A is 1877.669 pcu/hour and B is 1671.583 pcu/hour, and the degree of saturation on segment A reaches 1.08 and segment B reaches 1.12, which indicates that the road condition is at service level F, meaning it is experiencing severe congestion. Performance projections for the next five years indicate that the degree of saturation is expected to continue to increase beyond the acceptable limit of the degree of saturation set in the 2023 PKJI, which is 0.85. The results that the Tukad Pakerisan road section requires traffic engineering related to traffic diversion during peak hour and  recommends the addition of traffic signs and the implementation of traffic engineering to reduce congestion.

Abstract

Commonly used supplementary cementitious materials include fly ash and calcium carbonate. Based on this, necessary to study the comparison of the use fly ash with calcium carbonate as supplementary cementitious materials. The addition of cement with fly ash and calcium carbonate is 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of the weight of the cement. Each variation consists of 2 concrete cylinder specimens, and a total of 18 specimens. The tests carried out were slump value and compressive strength tests. The results of the study showed that the fly ash used is classified as class C pozzolan, while calcium carbonate is not included in pozzolan. The addition of cement with fly ash and also calcium carbonate 5% to 20% increases the slump value. The addition of cement with fly ash produces a lower slump value than the addition of 10% to 20% calcium carbonate, and higher at 5%. The compressive strength of concrete with the addition of cement with fly ash is higher and calcium carbonate is lower compared to normal concrete up to an addition of 20%.. The compressive strength of concrete with the addition of cement with fly ash is higher than the addition of calcium carbonate up to 20%.

Abstract

Clay soils often exhibit problematic characteristics. Expansive clay, which has swelling and shrinkage properties that are influenced by its moisture content. The study analyze the effect of lime mixing on the swelling and shrinkage behavior of soil. The method used involves mixing Fakfak clay with lime in proportions of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%, with a curing period of 3 days. The original soil used is classified as OH or A-7-5, with an average moisture content of 50.51%, a bulk density of 0.612 g/cm³, a specific gravity of 2.3, a liquid limit of 61.59%, a plastic limit of 48.86%, and a shrinkage limit of 32.94%, with a plasticity index of 12.73%, classified as medium plasticity and cohesive. The results showed that soil plasticity decreased with increasing lime content, with the lowest value found at 8% lime (1.04%). The largest shrinkage limit was found in the 2% lime mixture (33.27%), while the smallest was in the 8% lime mixture (28.77%). The conclusion lime mixing is effective in improving the soil's condition, with the 8% lime mixture demonstrating a stable composition with respect to the swelling behavior, compared to both the original soil and other lime mixtures.
