Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial management practices at Pondok Pesantren Al Murtadlo Buntet and their compliance with the Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards Statement (PSAK) No. 45 on Nonprofit Entity Financial Reporting. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the pesantren’s financial management is still simple, limited to recording cash inflows and outflows, and has not yet presented the four main reports required by PSAK No. 45, namely the statement of financial position, statement of activities, cash flow statement, and notes to the financial statements. The main challenges include limited human resources, lack of accounting knowledge, traditional administrative culture, and absence of supporting infrastructure. Nevertheless, the implementation of PSAK No. 45 is considered capable of enhancing transparency, accountability, public trust, and opening opportunities for external collaboration. This study also proposes a three-stage roadmap for implementing PSAK 45: short-term (awareness building and asset inventory), medium-term (system strengthening and internal audits), and long-term (professionalization and financial digitalization). The study concludes that the application of PSAK No. 45 at Pondok Pesantren Al Murtadlo Buntet is a strategic necessity to strengthen modern and professional financial governance while preserving the pesantren’s identity as an Islamic educational institution based on sincerity.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic values ​​into the management system of modern Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) is a crucial issue because Islamic boarding schools are required to maintain their Islamic identity while simultaneously fulfilling the need for effective, transparent, and adaptive educational governance. Previous studies generally discuss Islamic boarding school modernization, character building, or educational quality, but have not specifically explained how Islamic values ​​are translated into the structure of policies, administration, learning, student development, and the institution's work culture. This study focuses on how the values ​​of trustworthiness, sincerity, discipline, deliberation, responsibility, courtesy, and exemplary behavior are transformed into the management system of the Al-Musyarrofah Modern Islamic Boarding School. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design at the Al-Musyarrofah Modern Islamic Boarding School. Data were collected through interviews with foundation administrators, boarding school leaders, teachers, administrators, students, and alumni, as well as through observations of Islamic boarding school activities and documentation studies of rules and regulations, activity schedules, development records, and administrative documents. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, triangulation, and conclusion drawing. The research findings indicate that the transformation of Islamic values ​​occurs through the institutionalization of values ​​into policies, daily practices, teacher role models, institutional deliberations, and administrative services. This study recommends strengthening value evaluation indicators and expanding the study to other Islamic boarding schools so that the values-based management model can be tested more comparatively

Abstract

Education in Indonesia continues to face challenges such as the dichotomy in education, a crisis of character, and the demands of globalization and technological advancements. This study aims to analyze the educational philosophies of KH. Ahmad Dahlan and H.A.R. Tilaar through a comparative study of their philosophical foundations, educational objectives, and educational models, as well as to formulate a synthesis of their ideas for the development of modern Indonesian education. The study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and descriptive-comparative analysis. The results indicate that KH. Ahmad Dahlan emphasizes the integration of religious and secular knowledge to cultivate individuals who are faithful, rational, and socially conscious, whereas H.A.R. Tilaar positions education as a humanizing process grounded in democratic, pluralistic, and humanistic values to foster critical and creative individuals. The novelty of this study lies in the synthesis of the two figures’ thoughts within a single integrative-humanistic educational framework that connects religious, academic, social, and democratic dimensions. This synthesis contributes to the development of Islamic education and national education, particularly in strengthening character education, multicultural education, and learner-centered learning in the digital age.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential twenty-first-century skill that needs to be developed in Islamic Religious Education learning so that students are able to understand, analyze, and relate Islamic values to everyday life. In the context of MANU Putri Buntet Pesantren Cirebon, Islamic Religious Education has strong potential because it is supported by pesantren traditions such as musyawarah, syawir, and religious habituation; however, its implementation still faces challenges, including the dominance of lecture-based methods and students’ limited confidence in expressing opinions. This study aims to describe Islamic Religious Education learning strategies in improving the critical thinking skills of tenth-grade students at MANU Putri Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Hiwar, Inquiry, and Discovery Learning strategies effectively encourage students to engage in dialogue, analyze religious issues, evaluate arguments, and reflect on Islamic values contextually. The main supporting factor is the pesantren culture of deliberation, while the inhibiting factors include the dominance of lecture-based learning, limited teacher time, and students’ suboptimal digital literacy. This study concludes that HOTS-based Islamic Religious Education learning can improve students’ critical thinking skills when implemented in a participatory, dialogical, and contextual manner in harmony with pesantren values

Abstract

The phenomenon of social, cultural, and religious diversity in Indonesia necessitates the strengthening of tolerance values in education, particularly through value-based learning in Islamic education. However, previous studies indicate that multicultural education tends to remain conceptual and has not sufficiently explored the process of internalizing diversity-based moral values in classroom practices. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing diversity-based moral values in Aqidah Akhlak learning, the strategies employed by teachers, and their impact on students’ tolerance attitudes. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at MTsN 1 Lahat. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that value internalization is carried out through integrative approaches, teacher role modeling, habituation, and contextual learning that encourages inclusive social interaction. These findings highlight that value-based Aqidah Akhlak learning plays a strategic role in shaping students’ tolerant character. This study recommends the development of more systematic value-based learning models and further research in broader contexts to strengthen the implementation of multicultural education in Islamic education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning, identify the challenges faced by PAI teachers, and determine the efforts made by teachers in overcoming these challenges in the Alpha generation at SMP Negeri 2 Plered, Cirebon Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that: 1) The implementation of PAI learning is carried out through three stages: introduction (reading prayers, attendance, and reviewing materials to build learning readiness), core (delivery of materials with varied methods and visual media to maintain student focus), and closing (conclusion, providing reinforcement by asking questions to support reflection and learning independence and reading prayers). 2) Challenges faced by PAI teachers include: the behavior of Alpha generation students who are less focused, tend to be noisy, and limited facilities such as the lack of projectors and the absence of LKS. 3) Teachers' efforts to overcome these challenges by providing simple learning media (LKPD, pictures, cardboard), the use of varied methods, a personal approach to students, and remedial programs for those who have not reached the KKM

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the values of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) contained in the Nyadran Tradition from the perspective of the local community of Jungpasir Village, Wedung District, Demak Regency. The Nyadran tradition in Jungpasir Village is unique because it explicitly functions as a substitute for the Sedekah Bumi tradition, combining the purpose of agricultural gratitude with Islamic religious rituals. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, allowing researchers to holistically describe cultural patterns, beliefs, and the process of internalizing religious values within the community. Data was collected through observation (of the Kirab Sesaji and Tirakatan), in-depth interviews with various key informants (religious leaders, traditional leaders, and youth), and documentation, with data validity testing using triangulation. The results of the study show that Nyadran is rich in Islamic religious education values that are lived by the local community, including the values of Aqidah (avoidance of shirk, reminders of death/the afterlife through tahlil), Ibadah and Akhlak (gratitude, generosity, almsgiving/feasting), and Kebersamaan (social solidarity and mutual cooperation). Functionally, the community interprets Nyadran not only as a ritual to honor their ancestors, but also as an authentic medium for Islamic Religious Education that is effective in strengthening character education based on Islamic values and maintaining social harmony in Jungpasir Village.

Abstract

The practice of gratitude and patience is crucial in modern life, which is marked by social pressures, life’s competition, and mental health issues. These two values are not merely theological in nature but also play a role in shaping an individual’s spiritual, emotional, and social balance. However, previous research has tended to address gratitude and patience in isolation rather than examining them holistically within the context of daily life. This study aims to analyze the actualization of gratitude and patience from the perspective of the Qur’an and hadith, as well as the integrative relationship between the two as a system of moral values. The study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and thematic exegesis (maudhu’i). Data were collected from the Qur’an, hadith, exegetical works, books, and scientific journals, and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The study focuses on Surah Ibrahim verse 7 regarding gratitude and Surah Al-Baqarah verse 153 regarding patience, referencing Ibn Kathir’s Tafsir as well as the thoughts of Al-Ghazali and Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. The research findings indicate that gratitude is manifested through the attitude of contentment (qana’ah), social concern, and the wise utilization of blessings, while patience is reflected in emotional control, self-resilience, and the ability to cope with life’s pressures. This study found that the integration of gratitude and patience forms a framework of spiritual ethics that contributes to psychological balance, mental resilience, and social harmony in modern life. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative analysis of gratitude and patience as a single system of ethical values that is contextual to the challenges of modern life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in shaping religious character through learning the Qur'an in Muslim students at Ban Kolokawe School, Thailand, in the context of minority communities. The research uses a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design. Data were collected through interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, and analyzed using interactive models with triangulation techniques to maintain credibility. The results of the study show that teachers' strategies are integrative, including the habit of reading the Qur'an, direct guidance, examples, associating the meaning of verses with daily life, and supervising student behavior. This strategy not only focuses on the cognitive aspect, but also includes affective and practical aspects. Learning the Qur'an has been proven to be able to cultivate religious character such as discipline, love for the Qur'an, good manners, honesty, responsibility, and social concern. The success of character formation is measured through the ability to read and memorize the Qur'an as well as changes in students' behavior in daily life, thus demonstrating a holistic evaluation approach. However, character formation is also influenced by external factors such as family and social environment. This study concludes that contextual and sustainable Qur'an learning strategies play an important role in shaping students' religious character and maintaining Islamic identity in the context of Muslim minorities. Abstract

This study is grounded in the urgency of transforming Akidah Akhlak learning in response to the challenges of intolerance, moral degradation, and environmental crises. Previous studies have generally treated religious moderation and ecological awareness as separate domains, resulting in limited curriculum innovations that integrate both perspectives. This study aims to analyze curriculum innovation in Akidah Akhlak learning at MAN 4 Bantul and its contribution to character development through religious moderation and ecological awareness. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Research participants consisted of the vice principal for curriculum affairs, Akidah Akhlak teachers, and students at MAN 4 Bantul. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations conducted over one week for two hours each day, and analysis of curriculum documents and instructional materials. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, technique triangulation, and member checking. Data analysis was carried out interactively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that curriculum innovation was implemented through the integration of religious moderation values, the application of project-based learning, and the strengthening of ecological dimensions in both classroom learning and madrasah culture. The study further suggests that Akidah Akhlak learning not only internalized the values of tolerance, anti-extremism, and respect for diversity, but also fostered environmental responsibility through waste management activities, school greening programs, and religious reflection based on ecological awareness. The integration of moderation- and ecology-based learning contributed to increased student engagement and supported the development of tolerant attitudes, critical thinking, social responsibility, and environmental awareness. This study recommends a more systematic strengthening of Akidah Akhlak curriculum policies based on religious moderation and ecological awareness in madrasahs.
