Abstract

ABSTRACT        This study aims to determine the concentration of L plantarum and the best fermentation time to make fermented rabbit meat dendeng based on L*a*b color and texture of rabbit meat dendeng. The material used was rabbit meat dendeng which was fermented using L. plantarum. The method of research was a experiment of laboratory with a factorial randomized block design and repeated 3 times consisting of concentrations of L. plantarum (0%, 6%, 8%, and 10%) and fermentation time (12, 18 and 24 hours). Based on the analysis of variance, it was found that different concentrations of L. plantarum and fermentation time did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the dendeng color of L (brightness), a* (redness) and texture, while the concentration of L. plantarum had a significant effect (P<0.05) and the fermentation time was a significant effect (P<0.05) on the color b* (yellow). The mean of L (Brightness) of dendeng was 33.94-35.72, the mean of a* of rabbit meat dendeng was 13.72-14.63, and b* was 12.53-14.83. The mean of rabbit meat dendeng texture was 22.94-25.25 N. The concentration of L. plantarum and the fermentation time that produced the best characteristic L*a*b* color and texture dendeng was 6% with 18 hours of fermentation time.  Key words: Dendeng; Rabbit; Fermentation; Color; Texture

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecernaan BK, BO dan SK pada daun bangun-bangun (Coleus amboinicus L) setelah dilakukan proteksi. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah memproteksi daun bangun-bangun P0 daun bangun-bagun tanpa perlakuan, P1 daun bangun-bangun di proteksi dengan kapsul, P2 daun bangun- bangun di proteksi daun kembang sepatu (saponin), P3 daun bangun-bangun di proteksi batang pisang (tanin). Peubah yang diamati yaitu kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK), kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO), dan kecernaan serat kasar (KcSK). Data diperoleh dianalisis dengan analisis ragam. Jika berpengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji jarak Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proteksi menggunakan kapsul, saponin dan tanin berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap KcBK, KcBO, dan KcSK daun bngun-bangun lebih lanjut terlihat pada P2 menunjukkan hasil yang baik dibandingkan P0, P1 dan P3. Hasil terbaik dicapai pada P2 yaitu proteksi menggunakan saponin yang di ekstrak dari daun kembang sepatu dengan hasil kecernaan BK (83,56%), BO (83,61%), SK (83,02%) Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahan proteksi berupa saponin dapat memproteksi daun bangun-bangun dengan baik.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the physicochemical and organoleptic characteristics of rejected laying duck meat covered with jackfruit leaf powder (Artocarpus heterophyllus), this research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely control treatment (rejected egg laying duck meat without smeared). jackfruit leaf powder), BDN-5, BDN-10 and BDN-15, each of which was treated with 5%, 10% and 15% of jackfruit leaf powder (BDN). The observed variables were pH value, water binding capacity (DMA), water content, cooking loss and organoleptic properties (aroma, tenderness and taste). The results of the research on physicochemical properties obtained pH values ​​ranging from 5.89%–5.99%, DMA ranging from 49.06%–49.47%, water content ranging from 75.93%–80.28% and cooking loss ranging from 27.33%. –35.50%. The results of hedonic quality research obtained that the average value of the aroma of meat ranged from 3.35-3.45 categories slightly fishy to not fishy, ​​meat tenderness 3.25-3.33 categories slightly tender, meat taste 3.20-3.38 categories rather good. The results of hedonic research showed that the average value of the aroma of meat ranged from 3.13 to 3.42 categories somewhat like to like, tenderness of meat 2.93-3.35 categories rather like, meat taste 3.08-3.42 categories somewhat like to like. The conclusion of this study is that rejected duck meat covered with jackfruit leaf powder up to 15% had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the pH value, water binding capacity, water content, cooking loss and hedonic quality attributes of tenderness and taste but increased preference for aroma, tenderness and taste of rejected duck meat on 15% BDN coating. Abstract

ABSTRACT Tenebrio molitor is an insect larvae that has the potential as a protein source for poultry feed. However, no exploratory research has been found on the quality of poultry meat reared with feed containing these insect larvae. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the hedonic and hedonic quality characteristics of fresh and boiled chicken meat in terms of color, texture, aroma and taste of broiler chicken fed with Tenebrio molitor meal. This research method is experimental using a completely randomized design (CRD). As a treatment, there were two types of feed, namely feed containing 5% MBM as control (R0) and feed containing 5% Tenebrio molitor meal (R1). The treatment was repeated five times, ten chickens for each replication. The results of hedonic and hedonic quality observations were analyzed descriptively. Based on hedonic quality characteristics; the color of the raw meat is redder, the aroma is less fishy, and the taste of cooked meat is more savory. And, in hedonic; broiler chicken that is fed a feed containing Tenebrio molitor meal is preferred by the panelists. So it can be concluded that broiler chicken meat that is fed with Tenebrio molitor meal is better than chicken meat that consumes MBM. Key Words: Chicken meat, Hedonic,Tenebrio molitor

Abstract

This research aims to knowing how the success rate of IB limousine cattle based on S/C in Pekalongan District, East Lampung Regency and knowing the factors that influence the success of IB based on S/C in Pekalongan District, East Lampung Regency. The method in this study is a survey method and data obtained by census, all Limousin Cattle that received IB services by the inseminator were used as samples. The success rate of IB limousine cattle in Pekalongan District, East Lampung Regency seen from the S/C in Limousine cattle was included in the normal range of 1.64. The factors that influence the S/C value in Limousine cattle are the BCS score has a positive association with S/C with a value of 0.364, age at first mated has a positive association with S/C with a value of 1.82, the age of the parent is negatively associated with S/C with a value of 1.82 (-0.215) and the shape of the cage wall was negatively associated with S/C with a value of (-0.0643).

Abstract

Abstract Smallholder farmers maintain beef cattle based on previous experience and information from fellow farmers. Success in livestock business is influenced by several aspects, both internally and externally. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of resource support on the development of smallholder beef cattle farming business. The research was conducted in Jetis Village, Curahdami Sub-District, Bondowoso District. The research variables consist of livestock farming business development (Y), economical resources (X1), social resources (X2), and environmental resources (X3). Methods of data collection is done by observation and survey. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using the SmartPLS 2.0 application. The results showed that livestock farming business development consisted of 4 (four) indicators, economical resources consisted of 5 (five) indicators, social resources consisted of 5 (five) indicators, and environmental resources consisted of 4 (four) indicators. The conclusion of the study shows that economical resources, social resources, and environmental resources have a positive and significant 38.9% effect on the development of smallholder beef cattle farming business. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Dwarf Elephant Grass -based pellets and the combination on the performance of male Rex Rabbits. This study used 20 male Rex rabbits with an average body weight of 1222.61 ± 49.39 g/head (cv ±4,04%). The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with a unidirectional pattern with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The rations given were “Citra Feed” comercial pellets and Dwarf Elephant Grass -based pellets. The treatments were T0 (100% commercial pellet), T1 (70% commercial pellet + 30% Dwarf Elephant Grass pellet), T2 (30% commercial  pellet + 70% Odot pellet), T3 (100% Dwarf Elephant Grass pellet). The results of statistical analysis showed that using Dwarf Elephant Grass -based pellets had a very significant effect on dry matter (P<0.01), and had a significant effect on ADG and feed cost per gain (P<0.05), not sicnificantly different to feed convetion ratio (P>0,05). From the results of the study, it was concluded that using Dwarf Elephant Grass based pellets as much as 30% of the total ration increased the performance of male Rex Rabbits. Abstract

This research aims to know efficiency of milk production at Mandiri Sejahtera Dairy Farmers Group and also to know how the factors of milk productions influence the amount of milk production at that group. Research methode which is used is with using giving quiz containing questions about factors relating to milk production. Factors of milk production which are researched are ownership of dairy cow for every farmer (SL), forage (H) and concentrate (K) which is used for every month/dairy cow, and working time per month/dairy cow. Data analysis used is using Cobb Douglass Equation, so, We could get milk production equation and know factors which significant (P < 0,01 atau P < 0,05) influence to milk production. Cobb Douglas Function of that milk production is LnPS = 0,38 + 0,432 LnH - 0,263 LnK + 0,590 LnJ* + 0,941 LnSL**. Factors most significant (P < 0,01) influence the milk production are the ownership of dairy cow. The ownership of dairy cow which is efficient is about 3,32 LU/month/farmer which could produce milk about 250 liter/month/farmer.   Keywords: Milk Production, Cobb Douglass, Ownership Of Dairy Cow, Dairy Farmer

Abstract

ABSTRACT Chicken Cemani is a local Indonesian chicken that has been worldwide. The potential of Cemani chicken is very good, apart from being a chicken used for traditional ceremonies, Cemani chicken has good production potential and has very large export prospects. However, the population is still limited causing many requests that cannot be fulfilled. Maintenance that has not implemented an integrated and traditional supply chain system causes the development of Cemani chicken agribusiness to be slow. The supply chain management system (SCM) is an integrated marketing system that includes the integration of products and actors to provide satisfaction to customers. In the Cemani chicken commodity, the actors and those involved are not clearly known. This study aims to determine the actors involved in the Cemani chicken supply chain and to find out the product flow, as well as the finances contained in the supply chain in Pakis, Malang, East Java. The study was conducted at the Cemani chicken farm in Pakis, Malang, East Java. The location selection was done purposively based on the consideration that the center of the Cemani chicken farm in Indonesia was in Pakis, Malang City, East Java. The research was conducted in November 2020. The research method used is a descriptive survey method. The method of determining respondents is purposive sampling which is based on the supply chain of a farm owned by Mr. Ihsan and Mr. Sigit. Determination of the respondents of traders and consumers in this study was carried out by snowball sampling, namely tracing the supply chain channels of the livestock owned by Mr. Ihsan and Mr. Sigit from traders to consumers in the Java area. Respondents in this study were 2 breeders. The data for product flow obtained were analyzed descriptively while for financial flows were analyzed using margin and efficiency analysis. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the actors in the supply chain of grade I and grade I Cemani chickens are breeders, traders in the city, traders outside the city and consumers. There are three marketing channels in the marketing supply chain for Cemani chicken in Pakis Malang City, namely channel I consisting of Breeders → Traders Outside Malang City → Traders in the City → Consumers. Channel II consists of Farmers → Traders in the City → Consumers and channel III consists of Farmers → Consumers. Sales use online and offline systems. The flow of finance where the selling price is the highest is the out-of-town traders belonging to Mr. Sigit at a price of Rp. 350,000 – Rp. 531,250 / head with the age of 2-5 months. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of Indigofera zollingeriana with Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott  in ration on rumen fermentation characteristics (total VFA, NH3 and protozoa population) in vitro. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. P1 = 60% Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott, P2 = 45% Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott + 15% Indigofera zollingeriana, P3 = 30% Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott + 30% Indigofera zollingeriana, P4 = 15% Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott + 45% Indigofera zollingeriana, P5 = 60% Indigofera zollingeriana. All treatments received an additional 40% fine ricebran. The results showed that the level of Indigofera zollingeriana flour with Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott had no significant effect on total VFA and NH3.  Total VFA and NH3 ranged from 131.65 mM-143.24 mM and 12.61 mM-13.74 mM, respectively. Meanwhile, the population of protozoa had a significant effect (P<0.05). DMRT further test results showed that P3 was significantly  (P<0.05) lower than P1, P2, P4 and P5. The average population of the protozoa ranged from 53.125 cells/ml to 90,625 cells/ml. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the administration of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves by 30% was able to reduce the protozoan population in the rumen of FH cattle but had no significant effect on total VFA production and ammonia (NH3) concentration.
