Abstract

This review aims to present a systematic review of empirical research on transformational leadership (TL) and local government performance (LGP) to synthesize the fragmented knowledge and propose a unifying framework for future research. This research adopts a systematic literature review methodology. A total of 22 articles were reviewed after being filtered from 59 articles found through an exhaustive search of online databases: Scopus, Emerald Insight, Science Direct, JSTOR, Taylor and Francis, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria were peer-reviewed empirical studies published in English from 2012 to 2024. Exclusion criteria were articles that did not provide empirical results on the relationship between TL and LGP and were published older than 2012. A matrix table was developed to extract and organize information from the articles. The findings revealed three main vital themes. First, general organizational performance is the background most studied in the TL-LGP. Second, almost all studies use quantitative methods to analyze the data collected. Third, in general, the empirical results reported the influence of TL on LGP. A lot of background context still needs to be studied, and qualitative and mixed-method methods will be challenging for future research.

Abstract

Following Indonesia's commitment to promoting the achievement sustainable consumption and production practices (RCP- SDGs Number 12), a plan must be put in place to motivate important players (SMEs) to support the green economy. The limitations of SMEs in terms of funding to be able to implement green economic practices are accommodated through access to financial technology, namely social crowdfunding. To gain insight into how SMEs implement green economic practices by utilizing social crowdfunding, a survey was conducted on 75 SMEs use descriptive research design. The results of the descriptive analysis found that some SMEs have not been able to take advantage of social crowdfunding due to several reasons: not being able to access the right website, having requirements that are difficult to fulfill and their technology skills are not yet good. An interesting insight that was extracted from the results of this survey is the high level of confidence among SMEs that implementing green economic practices using social crowdfunding can improve business performance and are confident that they can overcome all difficulties. The proposed conceptual model can apparently be supported by research results which produce the proposition namely:" willingness to participate in implementing green economic practices using social crowdfunding needs to be driven by creating strong awareness and interest by triggering 3 important determinants, namely stakeholder management, community engagement and entrepreneurship strategy”. In the future, this conceptual modeling can be used to conduct quantitative research so that it can explore the facts in the field in a comprehensive manner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of social environment, financial education, and e-commerce supporting features on m-banking on impulsive buying behavior. This quantitative research uses a population of students from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sumatera Utara, employing multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS v.26. The sampling method used was purposive sampling technique using the slovin formula. The results of this study can highlight the importance of more integrated and practical financial education programs in universities. If it is proven that lack of financial literacy increases impulse buying behavior, educational institutions can develop curricula that focus more on money management and the impact of impulse spending. If m-banking features are proven to contribute to impulse buying behavior, then app developers can introduce features that encourage users to be more conscious about their spending. If peer influence is shown to have a significant impact on impulse buying behavior, then there needs to be a social intervention that educates students about social influences on their spending. Thus, collaboration between universities and m-banking service providers can strengthen financial education and impulse spending control efforts.

Abstract

This study analyzes whether the availability of the QRIS payment method influences the decision to purchase food or drink products for people who are familiar with this payment method. Data was collected through an online survey (n = 112) and followed by respondents in the age range 18-45 years who live in the city of Jakarta and its surroundings as well as several other provinces. Survey questions were developed by adopting some of the factors in innovation adoption (E.M. Rogers, 1972) and factors that influence purchasing behavior (Widayat, Marsudi and Ilyas Masudin, 2023). Based on the simultaneous test and partial test, the probability F-statistics value and the significance value of the QRIS payment system variable is smaller than α (0.05), showing that there is a significant effect of the QRIS payment system on the purchasing behavior variable. A simple regression analysis was carried out, which was also accompanied by a normality test, linearity test and hypothesis test. As a result, the coefficient of determination reveals an R squared value of 0.281, which means that the QRIS payment system variable is able to influence purchasing behavior variables by 28.1%. The results of this research provide insight to business actors, business practitioners and policy makers in the banking sector that convenience in transactions needs to be considered as part of an effective marketing strategy.

Abstract

This study examines the promotional strategy planning for Café Pondok Miso Khas Riau through Instagram, aiming to boost consumer awareness. The topic is interesting due to the café's unique offering of traditional Miso from Riau, Indonesia, and the growing importance of social media in modern marketing. The primary problem addressed is the café's lack of brand recognition and ineffective use of social media for promotion, leading to the research question: How can Instagram be utilized to enhance the café's marketing strategy? The novelty lies in focusing on Instagram as the primary promotional tool, an approach not extensively explored for this café type. The research utilizes the SOSTAC model, involving a thorough situation analysis, setting specific objectives, and formulating strategic tactics to boost the café's online presence. Empirical findings suggest that a well-structured Instagram campaign can significantly enhance brand visibility and customer interaction. The conclusion suggests that implementing this strategy can enhance brand awareness and attract more customers, providing a valuable framework for other businesses seeking to optimize their social media marketing efforts.

In the 21st century, loyal, committed, and dedicated employees are a company's most valuable asset since they perform better and spend more time improving organizational outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effect of work motivation, job security, and organizational climate on employee commitment to the organization, with job involvement as an intervening variable at PT. X. This research used a non-experimental quantitative research method with a total sampling technique, collecting data from 117 respondents using valid and reliable questionnaires. The research results were analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with Smart PLS version 3. The findings demonstrate that employee commitment to the organization is positively and significantly affected by work motivation, job security, and organizational climate. Furthermore, through job involvement as an intervening variable, work motivation, job security, and organizational climate exert a positive and significant indirect effect on employee commitment. However, their direct effects on employee commitment to the organization are greater than the indirect effects mediated by job involvement.
