Buana Komunikasi (Jurnal Penelitian dan Studi Ilmu Komunikasi) is a scientific journal published by the Sangga Buana YPKP Social and Political Science Study Program with p-ISSN 2774-2342,e-ISSN 2774-2202 published 2 times and 1 year (June-December). The articles published have gone through the review process of the reviewers, which are related to communication science. The articles that are published can also be in the form of scientific ideas, theoretical and conceptual studies, as well as practical applications from both academics or practitioners in the field of communication. The scope of the Buana Communications Journal includes: Interpersonal Communication, Public Communication, Organizational Communication, Mass communication, Political Communication, Cultural Communication, Communication Ethics, and Religious communication.

Abstract

Corporate image and reputation are heavily influenced by public perception of credibility and quality. The 2021 crisis involving PT Kimia Farma’s use of reused rapid test kits at Kualanamu Airport highlights the importance of crisis management. This research uses a qualitative approach to analyze the company's communication strategies in addressing the crisis. The findings show that quick response, transparency, and restoring public trust through effective communication are crucial for repairing corporate image and reputation. The study emphasizes the importance of structured crisis strategies in maintaining consumer trust, especially in the healthcare sector

Abstract

Silaturahmi, as a tradition developed in various cultures, has a very important role in strengthening social relationships. In the Indonesian context, silaturahmi is not only seen as a social gathering, but also as a form of interpersonal communication that strengthens the bonds between individuals within a family, community, or wider society. This article aims to explore silaturahmi as a means of interpersonal communication, as well as its impact on the quality of social relationships in society. This research uses a qualitative approach with interviews and participatory observation of individuals involved in silaturahmi activities in various communities. The results show that silaturahmi provides an opportunity to exchange information, deepen emotional relationships, and create a sense of togetherness that increases social solidarity.

Abstract

This research focuses on the process of social integration and cultural acculturation between the people of Medan and the Sundanese people in the city of Bandung. By applying a descriptive qualitative method using Alcutation Theory, the data collection process is carried out through direct observation to understand the dynamics of social interaction, semi-structured interviews to gain in-depth insights from participants, and literature studies that serve as the basis for strengthening the theory and context of research. This research aims to describe how the people of Medan adapt to Sundanese culture while maintaining their cultural identity. The acculturation process between Medan and Sundanese cultures also enriches the cultural diversity in the city of Bandung, creating a harmonious relationship in the midst of a multiethnic society.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that transforms various aspects of life, including business marketing practices. This study aims to describe the decision-making process in adopting AI among MSMEs in DKI Jakarta and Greater Bandung. A descriptive quantitative method was used with descriptive analysis and cross-tabulation. A total of 119 MSME respondents who are digitalized and familiar with AI were analyzed to map the AI adoption process. The results show that most respondents have adopted AI, especially micro-businesses in the culinary sector. Respondents demonstrated basic knowledge of AI, along with personal characteristics and communication habits that support adoption. AI is perceived to offer relative advantages, compatibility with values and needs, ease of trial, and observable results. However, some respondents still find AI difficult to use. Improving AI training, digitalization efforts, and supportive policy-making are needed to strengthen the digital ecosystem for MSMEs.

Abstract

This research aims to see how the campaign strategy on Wongkito.co online media in packaging messages on news channels as a response to the issue of gender equality. This type of qualitative research is descriptive in nature. The subject of the research is the editor-in-chief of Wongkito.co online media. The data used are primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques in this research are observation and interview. The results showed that Wongkito.co online media, as one of the feminist media in Palembang, took part in advocating the theme of gender justice and equality through various rubrics, such as Yundakito, Setara, Katokito, and Bucukito. In practice, Wongkito.co conducts campaigns with the aim of raising the issues of women, children, people with disabilities, minorities, and other vulnerable people. When creating a digital campaign program, there are four steps that must be taken, the problem identification stage, campaign design, campaign implementation, and evaluation. However, Wongkito.co has not implemented the evaluation stage, but only implemented three stages.

Abstract

Setiap individu di era digital memiliki peluang membangun personal branding melalui media sosial, termasuk para influencer. Zhafira Aqyla, seorang influencer di TikTok, menjadi contoh sukses dalam membentuk citra diri secara digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis respons followers terhadap personal branding Zhafira dengan menggunakan teori Peter Montoya yang mencakup delapan konsep utama personal branding: Spesialisasi, Kepemimpinan, Kepribadian, Perbedaan, Visibilitas, Kesatuan, Keteguhan, dan Nama Baik. Analisis respons dilakukan melalui tiga aspek model M. Caffee: kognitif, afektif, dan behavioral. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada followers aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa personal branding Zhafira memperoleh respons positif. Followers mengapresiasi penyampaian konten yang informatif, inspiratif, serta konsisten, sehingga membentuk persepsi yang kuat dan positif terhadap personal brandingnya.

Abstract

This research examines Pramono Anung's Instagram (@pramonoanungw) campaign strategy during Jakarta's gubernatorial election (August-November 2024). Using mixed methods, the study analyzes social media content characteristics and issue framing techniques. Findings reveal dominance of personalization content, followed by information, mobilization, and interaction elements. Pramono's strategy emphasized building a visionary image through social issues advocacy, family values, and sustainability commitments, positioning him as an approachable, community-responsive leader. This research contributes to understanding social media's role in contemporary political campaigning within Jakarta's electoral context.

Abstract

This study analyzes the content management of the @bukune Instagram account using the Circular Model of Some: Share, Optimize, Manage, and Engage. Using a qualitative descriptive method through interviews and observation, the research finds that Bukune applies a structured, collaborative strategy. In the Share stage, content is tailored to audience preferences. Optimization is done by evaluating post performance and adapting to trends. The Manage stage highlights coordination among teams, especially content creators. Engagement is built through replies, interactive features, and a personal tone. Content creators serve as a bridge between creative ideas and technical execution, ensuring relevance and appeal. Overall, Bukune’s Instagram functions not only as an information platform but also as a means to build emotional connection with followers.

Abstract

Increasingly tight business competition requires companies to not only offer quality products, but also build customer satisfaction and strong trust in brand image. Customer satisfaction is the main indicator in assessing the success of service, while trust in the brand reflects consumer perception and belief in the consistency and integrity of the company. This study refers to the theory of brand image, customer satisfaction, and customer trust as a conceptual framework. The methodology used is a qualitative approach by applying meta-analysis studies obtained from several studies that have been conducted previously. The results of the study indicate that customer satisfaction and comfort obtained from the service have a significant effect on the positive image of the company. This study confirms that consistent improvement in service quality and management of positive brand image can increase customer satisfaction and build sustainable trust, which ultimately strengthens consumer loyalty.

Abstract

The development of communication technology has given rise nowaday. The documentary Belongings Through Lines seeks to portray the dynamics of this community using a three-act narrative structure, highlighting personal stories, challenges, and reflections on their role in preserving the city’s collective memory through sketching. This study aims to explain the stages of Act I (Set Up), Act II (Confrontation), and Act III (Resolution) in the scriptwriting of the documentary Belongings Through Lines. The results show: 1) Act I introduces the Bandung Sketchwalk community, the values of urban sketching, and the cultural and emotional background through intimate and reflective audio-visual elements; 2) Act II presents the conflict of maintaining the community, as well as the members’ motivations and social dynamics through interviews and the 100th sketchwalk event; 3) Act III offers a narrative reflection on the meaning of the Bandung Sketchwalk community’s continuity and the values sustained over the past decade.
