Abstract

This study aims to analyze service quality at Bank ‘X’ by applying the Banking Service Quality (BSQ) method. Service quality is a crucial factor in maintaining customer satisfaction and preserving the bank's competitiveness against other banks. The BSQ method is used to identify the dimensions of service quality that have the most influence on customer perceptions of services at Bank ’X’. This research employs a quantitative approach by collecting data through questionnaires distributed to customers of Bank ‘X’, the collected data are then analyzed using statistical techniques such as factor analysis to identify service quality variables that emerge from customer perceptions. Additionally, regression analysis is conducted to measure the influence of each dimension on customer satisfaction. The results of this research indicate a negative gap in the access variable, while the other variable experience a positive gap. Negative gap results are also found in the attributes of "customer service assistance," "number of tellers and customer service staff," and "queues at tellers and customer service." The Pearson product-moment correlation test results show that all variables are related to customer satisfaction. The influence of service quality on customer satisfaction at Bank ‘X’ is represented by the equation Y = -5.708 + 0.290X1 + 0.305X2 - 0.423X3 + 0.422X3 + 0.341X5 + 0.35X6. The results of the F-statistic test indicate that all service quality variables significantly influence customer satisfaction simultaneously. The t-statistic results reveal that the reliability variable does not have a significant partial effect on customer satisfaction, whereas the other variable have a significant partial effect on customer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study analyses the quality of FR S/C Side RH Bracket products at PT BMI, especially concerning the nut dragging problem, which is often the main defect. This study aims to analyze and improve the nut dragging defect problem in FR S/C Side RH Bracket products, as well as provide an understanding of the effectiveness of the improvement in reducing the number of defective products. The analysis shows that FR S/C Side RH Bracket products with nut dragging problems are the most frequent defects, reaching 632 defective units or about 60% of the total defective products before improvement. The Failure Tree Analysis (FTA) method was used to identify the root cause of the nut dragging problem, which revealed that machine factors were generally the main cause, especially setting the spot welding machine parameters too high. In response, improvements were made by changing the parameters on the SW.03 spot welding machine and adding a cooling water line. The results showed a significant decrease in defective products, totaling 1320 units. After the improvement, only 141 units were defective. This research provides an in-depth understanding of product quality issues at PT BMI. It offers solutions to improve product quality and meet customer expectations in the highly competitive automotive industry.

Abstract

This study endeavors to enhance the productivity of solar module production in a renewable energy conversion company. The existing production line needs help in achieving the daily target of 64 units, resulting in an actual output of only 40 units. This study focuses on optimizing the production line by considering processing time adjustments and operator flexibility. To accurately measure working time, we incorporate operator flexibility and adjustment factors in the planning phase of solar module production. The primary objective is establishing an optimal production trajectory by balancing the load and capacity across workstations, thereby elevating overall production efficiency. The approach involves the application of the trial-error method and the shortest operation time method, implemented through POM QM software. Through meticulous data analysis, we determine that the trial-error process yields the most optimal results. Post-implementation, improvements are evident as the solar module production capacity increases to 60 units per day from the initial 40 units. Additionally, the idle time ratio on the assembly line to available time diminishes to 13.17% after optimization. This study contributes valuable insights into the effective enhancement of solar module production lines, emphasizing practical methodologies and software-assisted techniques for achieving substantial productivity gains in the renewable energy sector.

Abstract

This research was conducted in the context of significant air traffic growth in Indonesia, where the increasing number of passengers each year presents an opportunity for airlines to expand their route networks and reach more markets. To seize this opportunity, a national airline based in Jakarta conducted internal research to open new flight routes connecting several important cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Kupang, Pangkal Pinang, Pekanbaru, Makassar, and Banjarmasin. This research aims to obtain an optimal flight route that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the planned airline routes. The research utilizes the Simulated Annealing-Traveling Salesman Problem optimization method to achieve this objective. This method is employed to find the best solution in determining the shortest route that includes visits to each destination city. The initial proposed flight route by the airline was Banjarmasin-Pangkal Pinang-Pekanbaru-Jakarta-Kupang-Makassar, with a total distance of 5,127 km. However, the research yielded a different optimal flight route after conducting the optimization process using the Simulated Annealing-Traveling Salesman Problem method. The discovered optimal flight route is Pekanbaru-Pangkal Pinang-Jakarta-Banjarmasin-Makassar-Kupang, with a total distance of 3,256 km. A comparison between the initial and optimal routes reveals that the new route has a 36.49% shorter distance than the initial route.
