Abstract

This research aims to identify the types of special needs that benefit from Data-Based Decision Making (DBDM), the stages of its implementation, and the challenges teachers face in executing DBDM effectively. This research used a qualitative approach, with a systematic literature review method using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis), systematically analyzing relevant articles from the Sage Journal and Wiley Online database scopus indexed published between 2013-2023. A total of 54 articles were initially identified, and through a thorough screening process, 5 articles were included for in-depth review. The data analysis technique for this research used a content analysis approach. The implementation of Data-Based Decision Making (DBDM) supports special needs students facing academic (e.g., reading and writing difficulties) as well as emotional or behavioral challenges. While Curriculum-Based Measurement (CBM) and Mastery Measures with clear decision rules are often used for academic difficulties, DBDM for behavioral issues is more complex due to the diversity of behaviors and required tools. Teachers are encouraged to apply DBDM, provided they develop skills in assessment selection, data processing, and analysis to adjust interventions effectively. Successful DBDM requires strong support from various school stakeholders. The review highlights the need for specialized training for teachers to enhance their competence in applying DBDM for diverse special needs students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Achievement Goals as a moderator in the relationship between upward social comparison and academic self-concept among college students. The research method used a correlational quantitative with a cross-sectional design. Using convenience sampling, a total of 111 freshmen participants were obtained from an online questionnaire. PROCESS Model, 14 Hayes tested moderating effects across mastery and performance goals with approach-avoidance dimensions. Results showed no overall moderating effect of mastery or performance goals. However, performance-avoidance goals intensified the negative impact of upward social comparison on academic self-concept at low to moderate levels, while performance-approach and mastery goals had no significant effects. These findings suggest that students with performance-avoidance goals are more vulnerable in competitive settings, underscoring the need for targeted support to enhance academic self-concept across goal orientations.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of the CIS using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). This research used an analytical approach and psychometric methods. Participants comprised 112 high school students aged 15 to 17 in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. CIS consists of 34 statement items with four subscales: attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. Data analysis in Confirmatory Factor Analysis was carried out through Mplus  8.11 and SmartPLS. The results showed that CIS performed well on all psychometric indicators: CFI, TLI, RMSEA, outer loading, and AVE. The RMSEA value is 0.107 > 0.08, the CFI value is 0.710 < 0.90, the TLI value is 0.689 < 0.90, and the SRMR value is 0.098 > 0.08. All items and subscales in the motivation variable are valid with outer loading item values > 0.7 and AVE values > 0.5. Based on CFI and TLI, the CIS model is a good fit and can be accepted. Furthermore, the four dimensions or subscales of the CIS—namely, attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction—demonstrate adequate psychometric properties. Based on the findings of this study, it can be concluded that the Indonesian version of the CIS is a valid, reliable, and robust instrument for assessing motivation. The implication of this research is that educators can assess student motivation using the CIS instrument because it has been proven to be able to measure elements of motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of gender in moderating the influence between financial knowledge, parental financial socialization, and FoMO on the financial behavior of Gen Z students in Indonesia. This research method uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive design that focuses on the statistical analysis of numerical data. The population of this study was students from the 2020 and 2021 intakes who were registered in the economics study program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Sebelas Maret University. The sampling technique employed combines probability sampling and proportionate random sampling. A total of 224 students participated in data collection, which involved distributing a Google Forms link and the questionnaire via messaging applications (such as WhatsApp) and social network chat features. IBM SPSS 26 software was used to analyze the data using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The study's findings indicate financial behavior is influenced by financial knowledge, parental financial socialization, and FoMO (p<0.05). Additionally, while financial knowledge and FoMO are not moderated by gender (p>0.05), parental financial socialization's effect on financial behavior is moderated by gender (p<0.05). The implications of this study highlight the importance of integrating financial literacy into university education, using a more practical and technology-based approach. Lecturers are encouraged to design learning that not only focuses on theory but also involves financial simulations and technology to help students better understand financial concepts interactively. In addition, universities should offer training programs or financial literacy workshops to equip students with better financial skills.
