Abstract

This study aims to describe the problems in the application of French as a language used to communicate in the school environment, the level of active French language skills, and also the level of need for the development of multimedia learning French to further practice speaking skills in French carried out by students in the school environment. This research was a descriptive qualitative research with 60 student needs evaluation questionnaires of French language learning multimedia, interviewed the headmaster, and two French teachers. The sample of this research is the principal, French teacher and also students at SDIT Ar-Raudhah, Bekasi from the third until the sixth grade who were selected using random sampling method. The data was collected by interviewing the principal and also the French teacher. In addition, a questionnaire or open questionnaire was given to students. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of research showed that there was a decline in the practice of speaking French in the school environment caused by various problems faced by students, such as the difficulty of students understanding French material and grammar, lack of confidence from students to communicate using French, there is no firmness from the school on the rules made in improving the ability of students to communicate using French and learning support media that are still incomplete to be used by students in improving their ability to communicate using French. This shows that the level of development need for multimedia in learning French, especially in the aspect of speaking skills is very high, thus requiring schools to be able to provide facilities that use multimedia in the French language learning process at SDIT Ar-Raudhah.

Abstract

These research objectives were to examine the values of the Pancasila student profile contained in the use of the barongan mask media and to analyze the effectiveness of the Barongan mask art craft to realize the Pancasila student profile in elementary schools. The research method was a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 28 students, three teachers, and the headmaster principal at State Elementary School 1 of Kalikejambon, Tembelang Sub-district, Jombang Regency. Three data collection techniques were used in this research, including literature study, observation of the research location, and interviews. Meanwhile, the technical analysis of the data went through three stages, namely data reduction or summarizing important things obtained during the research, presenting data in narrative or tabular form, and drawing conclusions. The research results indicated that: (1) the barongan mask art craft media had values that matched the profile of Pancasila students; and (2) the barongan mask art craft media was considered effective to be used to realize the Pancasila student profile in elementary schools, as evidenced by the achievement of each profile element of Pancasila students (who were faith and feared of God Almighty and had a noble character, global diversity, cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, and creativity). Most of the characters that appeared in school activities were under the key element indicators in each element of the Pancasila student profile.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an instrument that will be used to measure the grit of senior high school students. This quantitative study involved 601 senior high school students in Bangka Belitung. Based on an analysis of the relevant literature, this study developed 24 items that collectively described grit. Data was collected using a grit scale and analyzed using the Rasch model. The results show that 1) Cronbach's alpha value is 0.91 which means the interaction between item and person is in the very good category, 2) the item reliability coefficient is 0.97 where the item belongs to the special category, and 3) the person reliability coefficient is 0.87 which means that students respond consistently to each item. Based on the results above, we can see that 23 valid items and the other is invalid. Overall, it can be concluded that the grit scale has good psychometric properties, and it can be used by counselors or counseling guidance teachers to measure students' grit.

Abstract

This research aims to explore semi-online learning practices as a solution to the digital divide in education in the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) regions. This research method uses qualitative research conducted at SMK N A Waingapu, East Sumba and SMP B Merauke, Papua. The data collection technique was through interviews and literature studies which were then analyzed using the interactive analysis technique of Miles and Huberman. This research's results indicate that both schools apply a semi-online learning model to support learning amid limited digital access. SMK N A Waingapu chose to implement a finite face-to-face learning system for students with a weak economy, while SMP B Merauke provided problem modules for students to work on at home. The main obstacle to online learning at the two schools is the digital divide. In addition, SMK N A Waingapu East Sumba and SMP B Merauke also implemented internal policies and took steps to maintain the effectiveness of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. These steps are the implementation of Circular Letter Number 4 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Education Policies in the Emergency Period for the Spread of Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).

This study aims to discover the literacy skills of 5th grade primary school students during covid-19 outbreak in Mandailing Natal Regency based on teachers’ perceptions. Descriptive qualitative approach was applied with a simple quantitative support in form of percentages. The respondents in this study were 23 primary school teachers of fifth year class from 23 different primary schools located in 23 districs in Mandailing Natal Regency. To obtain the data, a semi structured interview was conducted adapted from four literacy skills consisting of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The obtained data subsequently were analyzed by thematic analysis based on specific separated themes. The findings demonstrated four results; (1) in listening skill, dominantly, 11 (48%) teachers thought that students’ literacy level is average and for higher level of listening 11 (48%) teachers shared low. (2) in speaking, 11 (48%) teachers stated average and for higher level, 13 (57%) teachers assumed low. (3) in reading, 12 (52%) teachers noted average, and (4) in writing, 11 (48%) teachers perceived average and for higher level, (52%) 12 of teacher-respondents responded that students’ literacy skills were average. Based on these results, it is highly expected to be worthwhile for teachers, lecturers, academician, stakeholders and public community to anticipate and to develop the students’ literacy development by supporting and facilitating the students’ fundamental needs such as children books, complete and comfortable school library, providing reading corner and ensuring teachers’ mastery on digital literacy platforms amidst covid-19 pandemic and in the coming years, as well.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an interactive media SIKU that can be used in the Economics learning process as a learning media to improve the students' financial literacy. The research method used is Research and Development (RnD) using the ADDIE development procedure. The data  were collected using a questionnaire to obtain quantitative data in the form of an assessment score on the feasibility of the learning media, and qualitative data in the form of comments and suggestions were used to improve the learning media. The data that  had been collected  were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study indicate that the assessment done by the media expert, subject-matter expert, and also practitioners claimed that this media was feasible and could be used in the learning process. The result of the learning media assessment by the students of SMK Kristen BM Salatiga showed a score of 4.12 in the good category. The assessment score by the students of SMA Negeri 3 Salatiga of 4.36, in the very good category, and the assessment score by students of SMA Kristen Satya Wacana of 3.98 is in the good category. The assessment by students showed that all aspects of the assessment are included in good and very good categories. Thus, it can be concluded that SIKU interactive media is feasible to use in the Economics learning process as a media to improve students' financial literacy.

Abstract

The present study explores teachers' subjective careers in gender, length of service, and employment status. In order to do this, 320 teachers from the islands of Java and Kalimantan participated in a quantitative descriptive study. The data were collected using the Subjective Career Success Inventory (SCSI) and analyzed using SPSS. The result showed that 232 teachers (72.5%) possessed a moderate level of subjective career success. Gender played a significant role in the recognition and influence dimensions. Recognition, influence, quality work, and meaningful work dimensions were all influenced by the length of employment, while employment status plays a role in recognition, quality work, and influence dimensions. Income level and teaching certificate differ in teachers' subjective career success, particularly the influence dimension. Overall gender, length of service, and employment status all played a role in teachers' subjective career success.
