Abstract

Sexual harassment is a sexually oriented act committed against another person that results in the emergence of displeasure or compulsion from the act. Victims of sexual harassment have their impacts on the victims, ranging from physical, and psychological to social so that what victims of sexual harassment experience influences their core beliefs in living their lives. These core beliefs are formed through experiences since childhood, the living environment, and the subject's interactions with the world and other people. This research aims to find out what the core beliefs of victims of sexual harassment are and the impact of the harassment incident. This research was conducted using qualitative methods with a case study approach. The research respondents, namely two women, were victims of sexual harassment who used purposive sampling techniques and used significant others to obtain relevant data. Data collection uses interviews, documentation, and core belief inventory (CBI). The research results show that the core beliefs developed by the two respondents are different. The first respondent showed a negative core belief and the second respondent showed a positive core belief so that if the core belief is positive, it will give rise to positive intermediate beliefs and automatic thoughts and vice versa. These things influence the way of life of each of the two respondents. The impact felt by the two respondents was anxiety, fear and even blaming themselves. This research was implemented to provide an overview of the core beliefs held by victims of sexual harassment and the impact felt by victims of harassment.

Abstract

The prevalence of tendencies towards eating disorders is increasing, with academic stress being identified as one of the contributing factors. This study aims to investigate the relationship between academic stress and the tendency toward eating disorders among students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. The study involved 198 students from three faculties at Universitas Negeri Makassar: The Faculty of Education (FIP), the Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences (FIS-H), and the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi). The sampling technique used was Accidental Sampling. The research instruments included the Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA) and the Eating Attitude Test-26 (EAT-26). The results of the Spearman rho correlation analysis showed a significant relationship between academic stress and the tendency toward eating disorders among students (p = 0.000 < 0.05). The correlation coefficient between academic stress and the tendency toward eating disorders was +0.397, indicating a moderate relationship. This research contributes to understanding the factors affecting mental health and eating disorders among students and serves as a foundation for more effective interventions in addressing academic stress in the university environment.

Abstract

Student engagement in school is influenced by various factors, one of which is related to student perceptions of teacher support. Positive and negative student perceptions of the support provided affect student involvement in the classroom. This study aims to determine the role of student perceptions related to teacher support on student engagement. The method uses a quantitative approach method. The population in this study were 232 students of SMP X Makassar City with a sample of 145 students obtained through accidental sampling techniques. Data is collected through questionnaire use Scale student engagement adaptation of 22 items (CFI = 0.924; TLI = 0.903; RMSEA = 0.0497) with McDonald's reliability = 0.873 and the teacher support adaptation scale is 11 items (CFI = 0.955; TLI = 0.940; RMSEA = 0.0577) with McDonald's reliability = 0.853. The results of this study indicate that student perception of teacher support have role and manner significant influential towards student engagement among students at SMP X Makassar City with contribution amounting to 23.8%. Implications in study This is perception student related teacher support is influential on student engagement be a better teacher give capable support​ in effort For make student own positive perception​ related support provided by teachers.

Abstract

School is one of the environments that plays a role in shaping the character of students. If the school can meet the needs of students while they are there, then students will feel comfortable in school. This convenience will have an impact on their involvement in learning activities. The high well-being of students in school will affect their behavior in the classroom, known as student engagement. This study aims to determine how the role of school well-being on student engagement in SMA Negeri 1 Polewali students. This study used quantitative methods involving 306 students of SMA Negeri 1 Polewali using the Stratified Random Sampling Technique. The data obtained are then analyzed using Simple Regression analysis techniques. The instruments used are school well-being and student engagement measuring instruments. The results of the hypothesis test showed an R-square value of 0.440 (44%). This shows that there is a role for school well-being in student engagement in students. This research can be used as a reference for students and schools to overcome the problem of low student involvement in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between achievement motivation and cheating behavior of SMA X Makassar students. This study uses a quantitative approach using an achievement scale and a cheating scale. The population in this study is students of grades X and XI of SMA X Makassar with a sampling technique using a simple random sampling method. The research involved 249 students of SMA X Makassar. The r value of -0.450 (p=0.000) in the results of this study showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between achievement motivation and cheating behavior of SMA X Makassar students. The higher the achievement motivation, the lower the student's cheating behavior. On the other hand, the lower the motivation for achievement, the higher the cheating behavior possessed by students. The findings of this study have implications for the development of knowledge related to achievement motivation and cheating behavior, as well as providing guidance for students and teachers to increase their achievement motivation in order to reduce and avoid cheating behavior at school.

Abstract

Humans can increase prosocial behavior through the meaning of life. This is caused by the desire for a meaningful life within the individual. Prosocial behavior is an act of providing benefits and advantages voluntarily so that the physical and psychological needs of other individuals are met. However, individuals often do not carry out prosocial behavior because they do not have confidence in themselves. This research aims to determine the relationship between the meaning of life and prosocial behavior in early adulthood in Makassar City. This research used quantitative methods with research respondents totaling 355 early adults in Makassar City aged 18 to 25 years. The measuring instruments used in this research are the meaningfulness of life scale with a reliability value of 0.972 and the prosocial behavior scale with a reliability value of 0.911. Hypothesis testing used the Pearson correlation parametric analysis technique using the Jamovi application version 2.3.21 with results r = 0.105 and p = 0.000. The results of the research show that there is a positive relationship between the meaning of life and prosocial behavior in early adulthood in Makassar City. This means that the higher the level of meaningfulness of life, the higher the level of prosocial behavior in early adulthood. The lower the level of meaningfulness of life, the lower the level of prosocial behavior in early adulthood. The implication of this research is that it is a reference source that can contribute to knowledge regarding the meaning of life and prosocial behavior.

Abstract

Burnout experienced by co-ass school students can affect their concentration, thus affecting the services provided to patients. Burnout can be overcome by increasing perceptions of social support and emotional regulation. This research aims to examine the influence of perceived social support on burnout through emotional regulation which acts as a mediating variable. This research uses quantitative methods. The subjects in this research were co-ass school students at Hasanuddin University with a population of 350 subjects, and there were 185 respondents who participated in this research. The results showed that emotional regulation had a role as a mediator on the influence of perceived social support on burnout (B = -0.156, p = 0.009), with a contribution of 30.2%. Based on the research results, it also shows that perceived social support has a negative and significant effect on burnout. On the other hand, perceived social support also has a positive and significant impact on the emotional regulation abilities of co-ass g school students. Apart from that, emotional regulation abilities have also been proven to have a negative and significant impact on burnout levels. The implications are expected to provide positive contributions, especially in the field of Psychology and also for medical schools that emphasize the importance of paying attention to perceptions of social support and emotional regulation in interns to reduce burnout levels. In addition, this study can also be an additional important reference related to the topic of burnout, perception of social support and emotional regulation.

Abstract

Pernikahan merupakan ikatan lahir batin antar laki-laki dan perempuan. Dalam pernikahan, tidak hanya hubungan biologis semata yang perlu disiapkan melainkan materi, psikis maupun fisik untuk menuju jenjang pernikahan agar tidak menimbulkan kecemasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh body image terhadap kecemasan dalam menghadapi pernikahan bagi perempuan dewasa awal. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 200 subjek dengan kriteria subjek penelitian yaitu wanita dewasa awal berusia 18-40 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa body image memiliki pengaruh terhadap kecemasan dalam menghadapi pernikahan (B=-0,040, p <0,000). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa semakin baik evaluasi atau penilaian pada kondisi tubuh (body image), maka semakin rendah kecemasan yang dialami wanita dewasa awal. Begitupun sebaliknya, semakin buruk evaluasi atau penilaian pada konidisi tubuh (body image), maka semakin tinggi kecemasan yang dialami wanita dewasa awal. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diharapkan agar perempuan dewasa awal mampu menerapkan body image yang positif berupa meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, menumbuhkan sikap positif, dan fokus pada bagian tubuh yang disenangi.

Abstract

This research focuses on the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-control in students at SMAN M Makassar. The problem raised in this research is the low level of self control among teenagers, which can have a negative impact on their behavior and academic achievement. Emotional intelligence, which includes the ability to recognize, understand and manage emotions, is expected to contribute to increasing students' self-control. Therefore, this research aims to find out whether there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and self-control in students. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The research respondents consisted of 311 class XI students at SMAN M Makassar, who were chosen randomly. Data was collected through questionnaires measuring emotional intelligence and self-control, which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using the SPSS 27 program to test the proposed hypothesis. The research results show that there is a significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and self-control in students, with a significance value of less than 0.05. The average student emotional intelligence score is 42 with a standard deviation of 9.333, while the average self-control score is 27 with a standard deviation of 6. These findings indicate that students with a higher level of emotional intelligence tend to have better self control.The implication of this research is to provide an overview of emotional intelegence and self control.
