Abstract

Prosocial behavior, or helping behavior, is an action performed voluntarily by an individual without any external pressure. This behavior is intended to help someone sincerely without considering any personal gain for the helper. However, among individuals in the community, some may not immediately show their concern and may prioritize their own needs first. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-concept and prosocial behavior in early adulthood in Makassar. The study involved 63 early adults in Makassar. The sampling method used was accidental sampling, and hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression. The analysis revealed a correlation coefficient of r=0.744 and a significance value of p=0.000 (p<0.05), indicating a significant relationship between self-concept and prosocial behavior. Additionally, the R-squared value was 0.554, meaning that 55.4% of the variance in prosocial behavior can be explained by self-concept among early adulthood in Makassar. This study suggests that having a strong self-concept is important for enhancing prosocial behavior.

Abstract

The limited number of police women in Indonesia poses a challenge not only to the implementation of security in society but also to the problem of organizational commitment due to work-family conflicts that occur from the dual role of being a policewoman and being responsible at home. This study examines the effect of work-family conflict and personal factors (age and tenure) on the organizational commitment of women police officers. This study also analyzes the aspect of work-family conflict, which significantly increases the organizational commitment of women police officers. The study's respondents were 80 policewomen in one of the Metropolitan Police Station (Polrestabes) areas in Indonesia who were married and had children. Data collection used self-reporting in the form of a work-family conflict scale and an organizational commitment scale. Regression test analysis shows a negative effect of work-family conflict on organizational commitment. Behavior-based conflict is a substantial aspect for police women in increasing organizational commitment. This research has implications for the police institution in creating a working system that can balance work and family for a positive organizational.

Abstract

The Laws and Regulations governing the Juvenile Criminal Justice Process are still discriminatory against Juvenile Law Enforcers, because there are requirements to become a Special Child Advocate as with other Law Enforcers who must be certified as Juvenile Law Enforcers. This study aims to analyze the requirements for advocates in child cases in the juvenile criminal justice system and the requirements for advocates in child cases in the juvenile criminal justice system in the future. The research method uses a normative legal approach method by conducting a study of the law. The results of the study show that Advocates in Child Cases in the Juvenile Criminal Justice System are not burdened with special requirements related to the specificity of children like other law enforcers and Advocates in the future must have an interest, attention, dedication, and understand the problems of Children and have attended technical training on Juvenile justice as a requirement to become a child advocate. This is to ensure the specialization of Advocates in the future as realizing the expression, "Non multa sed multum" not quantity but quality. The implication is that there needs to be specialization in the Advocates profession, especially in handling children's cases in the juvenile criminal justice system so that the handling of children's cases in the juvenile criminal justice system can be of better quality in the future.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children has a profound psychological impact, not only on the victim but also on the parents, especially the mother. This study aims to describe the experience of mothers in caring for children who are victims of sexual violence. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection technique uses in-depth interviews with three mothers whose children have experienced sexual violence and adds five people closest to the mother (significant others) who are analyzed using driven data. The results of this study indicate that mothers experience various emotional stress, namely sadness, disappointment, shock, anger, blaming themselves to wanting to end their lives. In addition, mothers face social stigma in the eyes of the community by blaming mothers for cases experienced by children. Social support from the family, UPTD PPA, plays a very important role in the role of a mother's adaptation not to blame herself for what her child experiences. The implication of this study is to provide the importance of psychosocial assistance for parents, especially mothers, and strengthening integrated services for victims of sexual violence against children.
