Abstract

This editorial concludes with a call to academics, researchers, and education practitioners to develop a sociology of citizenship rooted in Indonesia"™s socio-cultural realities. By understanding citizenship as a living, dynamic, and multivocal construct, we can formulate more inclusive, just, and context-sensitive educational and policy strategies. Interdisciplinary collaboration among sociology, anthropology, education, and law is essential to produce comprehensive and solution-oriented insights. Only by viewing citizens as active subjects in social life, rather than mere objects of state policy, can we build a future of Indonesian citizenship that is dignified, socio-culturally grounded, and inclusive.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for a transformative learning model design based on Jack Mezirow's theory to enhance critical thinking skills and digital literacy. The approach used in the research is descriptive qualitative using surveys. Data were obtained from interviews with three teachers and questions in the form of questionnaires directed at 45 eleventh-grade students in Ponorogo Regency. The research results obtained indicate that the dominant type of learning is conventional learning, which has not yet maximally encouraged critical reflection and active student participation. Most teachers do not fully understand transformative learning, although they are aware of some potential aspects and the relevance of open learning, discussions, self-reflection, and the development of logical argumentation. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an urgency to design a learning model that is contextual and adaptive, capable of fostering critical, reflective, and digitally literate character in students as a form of readiness to face the challenges of the 21st century

Abstract

This paper aims to describe the historicity of the birth of the conception of Pancasila as well as the pros and cons that arise regarding the creators of Pancasila and efforts to internalize Pancasila in the educational approach in schools through extracurricular activities. This article uses the literature review method in analyzing problems and finding solutions through theoretical analysis and research results on related problems. Based on document analysis, it is known that Pancasila is the work of the Indonesian nation which is extracted from noble cultural values, Soekarno only dug up these pearls and formulated them in one conception called Pancasila, but this conception is different from the Pancasila currently in effect as approved by PPKI on 18 August 1945 as state ideology. Pancasila must continue to be internalized, especially in the educational approach, not only through subjects in class but also through ideological intelligence extracurricular activities. An idea to return to making Pancasila easy to discuss but in an educative way, not indoctrinative.

Abstract

Democracy is a system of government used by many countries in the world today, including Indonesia. Higher education institutions serve as a microcosm of state life. As a consequence of a democratic state, Indonesia requires a society that is aware of the importance of political participation. Similarly, campuses also need students who recognize the significance of political participation within the campus. This study employs a qualitative method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature review. The political participation of students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in the campus election (Pemira) is relatively low, attributed to various internal and external factors. From a citizenship perspective, students should ideally have a high level of political participation in the Pemira, as it reflects the implementation of three citizenship competencies: civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic disposition. In response to the phenomenon of low political participation among students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, improvements to the Pemira system are necessary for the future. Furthermore, to enhance students' political participation, it is recommended to implement comprehensive and sustainable strategies
