Abstract

This study aims to develop a textbook for the philosophy of science based on local wisdom. The research subjects were students of the Pancasila and Civics Education Study Program at Sriwijaya University who took the philosophy of science. The research method is R&D with steps; 1) preliminary study, 2) product development, and 3) product test. Through a preliminary study, the results of the needs analysis were obtained which stated that the philosophy of science textbooks used previously did not contain local wisdom, the number of books as learning resources was still minimal and students wanted unique learning resources, one of which contained the value of local wisdom. Thus, the research team must develop the textbook immediately. The textbook prototype was validated by material experts and linguists and then tested. The result of validation by linguists is 82.5% which means it is valid and the result of material validation by material experts is 84.4% which means it is valid. Tests on students, namely with one-to-one yielded 95% small group 91.2% and field evaluation 90%, and N-Gain 0.4 which means moderate. Thus, it means that textbooks are practical to use and have a potential impact to be used as a source of learning the value of local wisdom

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of ethno-learning as a character education strategy through the integration of local Kacirebonan cultural values in government-based secondary schools in Cirebon City. Using a multi-site ethnographic approach, this study was conducted for one year in four schools that actively develop culture-based learning. The results of the study indicate that ethno-learning is implemented in two main forms, namely through the integration of local culture in intracurricular subjects and through extracurricular activities such as mask dance, gamelan, rebana, and the "Jelajah Budaya" program. One important finding is the role of teachers as cultural mediators who bridge traditional values with the formal education process. Teachers not only act as teachers, but also as value facilitators, art trainers, and cultural preservation agents in schools. The implementation of ethno-learning has been proven to strengthen students' positive dispositions towards local culture, form humanistic social attitudes, and foster reflective cultural identities. This study concludes that culture-based education should not be a complement, but rather the main foundation in the formation of students' character in a contextual and sustainable manner

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between students' perceptions of the quality of democracy in Indonesia and their civic behavior. Using a quantitative descriptive survey method, this research involved 737 respondents who were students at the State University of Yogyakarta (UNY), selected through random sampling. Data collection took place from May to October 2024 at UNY. Through Spearman's correlation analysis, the study found a correlation coefficient of 0.360 with a significance level of 0.01. This result indicates a positive relationship between students' perceptions of democracy quality in Indonesia and their civic behavior. However, the relationship between the two variables is relatively weak, as the correlation coefficient is far from one. In other words, although students' perceptions of democracy somewhat influence their civic behavior, the impact is not strong enough. These findings suggest the need for additional efforts to improve the quality of democracy in Indonesia to foster more active and positive citizenship among students. This study emphasizes that citizenship education in higher education institutions to strengthen students' understanding of democracy and enhance their participation as democratic citizens

Abstract

The aim of carrying out this research is to determine the character of students by using the traditional game media pèrèpèt jèngkol. This research is descriptive research that uses case studies. This game was played for 6 days (6 meetings) and researchers used observation sheets and videos to "see" how students' characters developed during play from the first day to the following days. After carrying out observation activities, the data taken from the observation sheet and video will be rearranged by the researcher and then grouped into existing tables. A person's character must be formed when they are still small, so that they are more accustomed to doing positive things. In the modern era like now, children experience a decline in character values, because there are so many negative things they can see and imitate. Other negative things include a lack of social skills and direct communication, because too much time is spent playing with gadgets, a lack of patience in children in facing challenges so they have difficulty concentrating on certain tasks or activities, children will also become dependent on gadgets so they Loss of interest in playing outdoors. To overcome this problem, researchers want to examine how the character changes experienced by students in elementary schools by playing the traditional game pèrèpèt jèngkol. The conclusion is that to see the character of elementary school children can be done through several efforts, such as playing the traditional game pèrèpèt jèngkol. Apart from that, this way can also preserve culture

Abstract

Civics Education (PPKn) in elementary schools is often perceived as less engaging due to its conceptual nature and conventional teaching methods, leading to low student learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model integrated with classroom management on fourth-grade students' Civics learning outcomes. A quasi-experimental method was used with a Posttest Only Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects were two fourth-grade classes, each consisting of 29 students. The experimental group was taught using the TGT model, while the control group received traditional instruction. A multiple-choice test with 25 validated items was used to measure learning outcomes. Data analysis involved normality and homogeneity tests, followed by an Independent Sample T-Test. The findings showed a significant difference between the two groups (sig. 0.011 < 0.05), with the experimental group scoring higher on average. These results indicate that the TGT model supported by effective classroom management can improve Civics learning outcomes. Therefore, this model is recommended as an engaging and effective alternative to conventional methods in Civics Education.

The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence between self-awareness as a social being on the character of mutual cooperation with a t-count value of 5.836> t-table 1.977 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. In addition to that, mutual respect has a positive and significant effect on the character of mutual cooperation with a t-count value of 9.371> t-table 1.977 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. Additionally, with an F-count value of 47.733 > F-table 3.059 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, both independent factors significantly contribute to the development of the character of mutual cooperation at the same time. Thus, it can be concluded that increasing self-awareness as a social being and an attitude of mutual respect can strengthen the character of mutual cooperation of students. Therefore, schools need to integrate these values into learning and daily activities in order to build a stronger culture of mutual cooperation
