Abstract

Introduction Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in Indonesia remain high. One effort to address this issue is increasing the use of contraception, particularly Long-Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC) such as the Post-Placental Intrauterine Device (IUD). However, the coverage of post-placental IUD use remains low. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between knowledge level and perception with decision-making regarding post-placental IUD use among third-trimester pregnant women. Method This study used a descriptive correlational design and was conducted in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas I Denpasar Timur from April to May 2025. The sample consisted of 38 respondents selected using purposive sampling, and data were collected through questionnaires measuring knowledge and perception. Result The results showed that 44.7% of respondents had sufficient knowledge, 31,6% had negative perceptions, and 52.6% planned to use other contraceptive methods. The Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between knowledge and decision-making (p = 0.004) and a highly significant relationship between perception and decision-making (p = 0.000). Conclusion It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and perception with decision-making regarding post-placental IUD use. It is recommended that health workers intensify education and counseling for third-trimester pregnant women regarding the benefits, effectiveness, and safety of post-placental contraception.

Abstract

Introduction: Breast milk is the ideal natural source of nutrition for babies, meeting their energy and nutritional needs during the first 4-6 months of life. Furthermore, breast milk strengthens the emotional bond between mother and baby, which contributes to optimal growth and development. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of lactation massage and acupressure therapy on breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was all postpartum mothers at the Solo Community Health Center (UPTD) during the October-November 2025 period, totaling 30 people. Therefore, a total sampling technique was used to select 30 people. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. The collected data were then processed and analyzed using the SPSS statistical program and the Wilcoxon test. Result: Based on the research results, the average score in the experimental group before giving lactation massage was 4.60 and after giving lactation massage was 6.40 and the difference in the range of breast milk production scores before and after giving acupressure massage was 1.80, which showed a significant change between the two variables. Conclusion : There is an influence of lactation massage and acupressure therapy on the smooth production of breast milk in postpartum mothers in the working area of the Solo Health Center UPTD.

Abstract

Introduction: The global maternal mortality rate (MMR) has decreased to 72.9 per 100,000 live births, while in Indonesia it remains at 189 per 100,000 live births. In Central Java Province, the MMR was recorded at 62.27 per 100,000 live births. In Pekalongan Regency, the maternal mortality rate fluctuated, increasing to 27 cases in 2021 and decreasing to 18 cases in 2024. Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal death, increasing maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. The high number of preeclampsia cases at RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan prompted this study to analyze factors associated with the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnant women. Method: A quantitative analytical study with a case-control design involving 152 respondents (76 cases and 76 controls) from medical records from January–June 2025. Independent variables included maternal age, parity, history of hypertension, and obesity, while the dependent variable was the incidence of preeclampsia. Analysis used the Chi-Square and Odds Ratio tests. Result: The results of the study showed a relationship between maternal age (p=0.023; OR=0.376), history of hypertension (p=0.000), and obesity (p=0.000) with the incidence of preeclampsia. Parity was not statistically related (p=0.732), Data analysis used the Chi-Square test and Odds Ratio (OR). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between age, history of hypertension, and obesity with the incidence of preeclampsia, while parity is not significantly related to pregnant women at RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan

Abstract

Background: Infancy and the toddler years constitute a crucial early period in a child's life, making them vulnerable to growth and developmental issues. Infancy spans the ages of 0–12 months, while the toddler stage covers ages 1–5 years. Common issues encountered during these stages include nutritional needs and malnutrition (specifically stunting). Education using animated video media is an effective method for improving mothers' skills in performing Tui Na massage techniques. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of animated video-based education on improving mothers' skills in performing Tui Na massage techniques on infants and toddlers. Research Methods: This was a quantitative study utilizing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of mothers with infants and toddlers who met the inclusion criteria. The instrument used was a questionnaire assessing technique skills, administered before and after the intervention; data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. Results: Analysis revealed an improvement in skills following education via animated videos on Tui Na massage techniques. Statistical testing showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Conclusion: It can be concluded that animated video-based education has an effect on improving mothers' skills in performing Tui Na massage techniques on infants and toddlers.
