Abstract

Indonesia, one of the world's largest carbon emitters, ranked 10th globally in 2022, projecting emissions of 700 million tons per year, marking an 18.3% increase from the previous year. The primary sources of carbon emissions stem from fossil fuel consumption, followed by land use change and deforestation. This dependence on fossil fuels persists due to the nation's limited development of Renewable Energy (RE) sources. Consequently, the high carbon cycle contributes significantly to air pollution, exacerbating greenhouse gas effects, leading to extreme climate changes, global warming, polar ice melt, disease outbreaks, health complications, forest fires, and food scarcity worldwide. Recognizing the severity of these issues, Indonesia has committed to reducing fossil fuel usage and carbon emissions, aligning with international agreements such as the Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and Net Zero Emissions 2060, as articulated in the United Nations General Assembly. To enforce these commitments, Indonesia implements a Carbon Tax as a Pigovian tax (Polluter Pays Principle) under environmental law, regulated by Law Number 7 of 2021 on Tax Harmonization and Presidential Regulation Number 98 of 2021 on Carbon Economic Value. This mechanism supports the establishment of Cap and Tax initiatives in Indonesia. Qualitative descriptive research reveals Indonesia's adoption of a combined carbon trading scheme modeled after those in several European Union countries, aiming for broader societal acceptance.

Abstract

The paper investigates the phenomenon greenwashing in Indonesia, examining its prevalence among corporations and assessing the effectiveness of legal frameworks designed to curb it. Greenwashing is characterized as deceptive claims about a company’s environmental practices, and common practices include misleading eco-labels on products, exaggerated sustainability claims, or irrelevant and misfocused green initiatives. Through a comprehensive methodology of legal analysis, corporate social responsibility (CSR) evaluations, and media investigations, the research identifies systemic flaws in Indonesia’s legal system that allow greenwashing to thrive. These include ambiguous legal definitions, insufficient regulations against false environmental claims, and weak enforcement. Together, they not only mislead the public into mindless consumption, but also undermine genuine environmental advocacy and governmental regulatory efforts. To address these challenges, the paper recommends strengthening legal regulations and enforcement within all sectors to prevent deceptive claims, boosting corporate transparency and accountability, and enhancing consumer education to promote a more critical approach to environmental claims. Additionally, the paper suggests further research on industry-specific greenwashing and cross-border comparisons to find more robust countermeasure practices by other governments. Addressing greenwashing is crucial for Indonesia’s environmental sustainability, with the need for a concerted effort from all stakeholders, including legal, corporate, and public sectors to establish a truly sustainable business environment.

Abstract

Intellectual Property Rights refer to the legal protection given to creators/innovators over their creations/inventions. It is given to them for the protection of their work from unlawful imitation or infringement and also for misuse. Intellectual property rights also give appreciation to the creator. This appreciation could be either in the form of recognition of the produced work or acknowledgment. Not only appreciation but also these Intellectual Property Rights provide financial benefits to the creators of the work. The Intellectual Property Rights support startups to continue innovating. With the IPR in place, it is indicative that startup companies will be challenged and be propelled to create new works from their innovations for the advancement of Indonesia's economy. This research aims to find out the meaning of IPR policies on the development of startups in Indonesia from the regulatory, implementation, and law enforcement aspects. This observation of the study has pointed out that though theoretically robust Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) laws support innovation, yet in challenges rising from law enforcement and awareness about IPR, often create problems for the full realization of the policy. The following recommendations for policy: strengthening the improvement of legal infrastructure and education on the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with the view of supporting a strong basis for innovation and the development of startup companies in Indonesia. In turn, this will enhance economic development in the country.

Abstract

This study focuses on examining the complete containment of Starbucks coffee franchise establishments in Indonesia, with Starbucks Coffee serving as the primary case study. A legal approach is employed to delve into the regulatory framework governing this issue, aiming to understand the fundamental principles impacting business actors and commercial competition. The objective of this research is to thoroughly explore the key aspects of regulating franchise establishment containment, while considering factors of economic sustainability and fairness to all parties involved. The anticipated outcome of this study is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the relevant regulations and their implications for business entities and market competition. Furthermore, it is envisaged that this research will contribute significantly to the formulation of policies that are not only effective but also equitable, aligning with the principles of economic sustainability. Ultimately, these endeavors aim to strike a delicate balance between imposed restrictions and the freedom to conduct business.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan performansi otografi atau bentuk bahasa tulis anak disleksia berusia 12 tahun di Karangtengah-Cilegon dan cara-cara meningkatkan kemampuan menulis anak diseksia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan data. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melalui metode agih dengan teknik-teknik lanjutan, yaitu; (1) teknik lesap (delisi); (2) teknik ganti (subtitusi); (3) teknik sisip (interupsi); dan (4) teknik balik (permutasi). Data dianalisis sesuai dengan data-data yang telah dikelompokan berdasarkan bentuk bahasa tulis anak disleksia yang ditemukan. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah anak penyandang disleksia berusia 12 tahun di Karangtengah-Cilegon dengan inisial AA. Data penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah tulisan, yaitu berupa kata. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa performansi otografi atau bentuk bahasa tulis anak disleksia berusia 12 tahun di Karangtengah-Cilegon sebanyak 33 data dan dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai berikut; (1) penghilangan huruf sebanyak 15 data; (2) penambahan huruf sebanyak 4 data; (3) pembalikan huruf sebanyak 3 data; (4) penggantian huruf sebanyak 4 data; dan (5) bentuk bahasa tulis disleksia gabungan sebanyak 7 data.

Abstract

Philosophy of Science is a special branch of Philosophy which has a strategic position in building the science paradigm in Indonesia. This research will examine and describe the status and position of Philosophy in the developing scientific paradigm. The research method used is a qualitative approach by analyzing sources or data from textbooks, scientific journals, documents, syllabi and teaching materials in Philosophy of Science lectures. The analysis used is interpretation, heuristics, and philosophical reflection. Scientific publication is a publication system that involves review by peer reviewers or colleagues with the aim of achieving the maximum level of objectivity. These “systems” vary depending on the discipline and continue to undergo evolution, although often with slow changes. The majority of academic works are published in scientific journals or in book form. The results of this research show that the Philosophy of Science was developed and taught referring to the philosophy of science paradigm that developed in the West. The structure built in developing the Philosophy of Science emerged from the study of Philosophy starting from basic knowledge about Philosophy to the nature of science.

Abstract

International trade or export-import is one of the important elements in the era of globalization in supporting a country's economy. In carrying out international trade activities, especially export activities, legal protection is needed for exporters as sellers in carrying out their business activities because of the many risks that will be accepted by them. Exporters if they carry out international trade activities using a consignment payment system. Normatively, international trade activities, especially exports, have rules that are in line with the Civil Code that applies in Indonesia, but there are also other legal provisions, both national and international legal provisions that can be used as a reference by exporters as sellers in carrying out their business in order to obtain guaranteed legal protection. which is further regulated in Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade and the Convention on the Law Applicable to International Sale of Goods 1955, but this international law convention states in article 1 that this convention only applies to the international sale and purchase of goods, and This convention also only applies to sales and purchases that are stated in written documents or written contracts. This means that in relation to this matter, in order for exporters to obtain legal protection, they are required to carry out their business activities in international trade by making written agreement documents or sales contracts as detailed and perfect as possible starting from the quantity of goods being bought and sold, payment times and deadlines as well as methods for resolving disputes. which will be chosen to be taken if there is a default from the importer as the buyer.

Abstract

Balinese customary law, which is patrilineal in nature, causes problems for families who are limited in having sons and threatens to break the lineage and break inheritance in the family. Therefore, an alternative marriage was born which is called bilateral gelahang marriage. The differences between the family system used in Balinese customary law and the marriage system in the gelahang, give rise to several problems and solutions to these problems are needed with protection for families who carry out marriages in the gelahang, therefore this journal will discuss this phenomenon.

Abstract

Karang taruna merupakan sebuah organisasi sosial kemasyarakatan yang berperan sebagai wadah dan sarana pengembangan setiap anggota masyarakat, terutama generasi muda di wilayah desa atau kelurahan. Pembangunan desa adalah proses perubahan yang terus menerus dan berkesinambungan yang diselenggarakan oleh masyarakat berserta pemerintah untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan lahir dan batin, materi dan spiritual, berdasarkan Pancasila. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan judul “Sosialisasi Peran Kaum Muda Melalui Karang Taruna Dalam Pembangunan di DesaPledo” adalah untuk membangun dan meningkatkan kesadaran para kaum muda tentang pentingnya berpartisipasi dan berkolaborasi dengan pemerintahan desa dalam Pembangunan desa melalui organisasi karang taruna. Metode yang digunakan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu Tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukan bahwa setelah sosialisasi, remaja di desa Pledo mulai aktif melibatkan diri pada kegiatan desa, yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan partisipasi kaum muda dalam pembangunan desa.

Abstract

The low level of student collaboration ability in Civics learning is the background for this research. Using the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) cooperative learning model is an alternative to overcome this. Quasi-experimental method One group pre-test and post-test design was used in this research. Tests and observations are the data collection techniques used. The results obtained before learning had a class average of 57.9. Meanwhile, after implementing the experimental class treatment, the average obtained was 75.95. The research obtained results from the Teams Games Tournament model which influenced fourth grade students at SDN 1 Mijen in PPKn learning, their collaborative abilities increased. Seen in the Sig value. Sample Paired t-test 0.001 < 0.05. Providing treatment using the Teams Games Tournament Model in one treatment can increase scores with a pretest average of 57.9 to a posttest average of 75.95
