Abstract

Improving creativity in writing descriptive essays among students is one of the challenges in learning Indonesian, especially when the teaching materials are not directly connected to the students' cultural background. Therefore, this study aims to develop and analyze the validity of contextual textbooks based on local wisdom in order to improve students' writing creativity. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Plomp development model which includes the Preliminary research stage, Prototyping stage, Assessment phase. The validity of the textbook is analyzed through the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language feasibility, approach feasibility. The research instrument is a validation sheet of the textbook product. There are 4 validators involved in the validation process. The results of the study indicate that the textbook developed has a high level of validity in the four dimensions, which include content feasibility of 84.47%, presentation feasibility of 88.33%, language feasibility of 88.00%, and approach feasibility of 87.68%. And overall, the average percentage value was 86.25%. Based on the validation results, it was concluded that the developed textbook product was in good criteria. The implications of this study indicate that the development of local wisdom-based textbooks is not only culturally relevant, but also feasible in encouraging students' creativity in writing descriptive essays. The obtained textbooks can be tested in the field so that the effectiveness and practicality of the developed textbook products are found.

Abstract

The International Conference on Computer Science and Technology (ICCSET) is an annual routine agenda by the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muria Kudus. The usefulness of this agenda adds to the publications of UMK Engineering faculty lecturers in particular and other universities in general. The consistency of the Faculty of Engineering in holding ICCSET attracts researchers from outside UMK. The obstacle that arises during ICCSET is the ICCSET data management system. The system uses Google Forms, where Google Forms have not been integrated between forms. This makes the ICCSET data processing system difficult due to incomplete data. This research resulted in a web-based management system for ICCSET at the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muria Kudus, which was named WeBEST - Web-Based Conference Management at The International Conference on Computer Science and Technology (ICCSET)

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the needs of special assistant teachers in the subject of Natural Science (IPA) at the School of Human Junior High School. The method used was a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observation of 4 special assistant teachers who were conducting the learning process. After that, researchers conducted in-depth interviews with 8 special assistant teachers. The results of this study indicate that special assistant teachers need a guidebook as a guide for them in dealing with children with special needs in science subjects. This is because special assistance teachers experience difficulties when the class becomes unconducive. In addition, the material related to biological science is a challenge for special assistant teachers in training children with disabilities to memorise the material. So, the hypermedia integrated science learning module is an alternative guide for special assistance teachers. They not only read the guide but can also listen and observe the steps in the science learning process through the hypermedia integrated learning module. This study concluded that with the existence of science learning modules, special assistance teachers can improve their pedagogical competence. Therefore, this research has implications for inclusive education through the development of hypermedia-integrated learning modules that can provide convenience for special assistant teachers in dealing with the obstacles of the learning process for children with disabilities in the classroom

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the needs of Gen Z in integrating digital media into disaster mitigation education. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study. The participants in this study were 16 people in Pramuka Island, Kepulauan Seribu. The selection of these participants was carried out using purposive sampling technique. In-depth interviews, observation and documentation are data collection techniques conducted by researchers. The results of this study indicate that gen Z has digital literacy competencies only limited to internet searching, and hypertextual navigation. Meanwhile, content evaluation and knowledge assembly cannot be done effectively by Gen Z due to knowledge constraints and poor internet signal. In general, Gen Z understands information related to natural disasters and the impact of natural disasters. The results of this study conclude that gen Z needs digital media that can contain information as a tool to introduce disaster mitigation education. However, the digital media can not only be accessed through the internet online, but can also be used offline. Thus, digital media-based disaster mitigation guides need to be developed in future research.
