Abstract

The living environment is a unity of space and all objects, forces, conditions and living creatures, including humans and their behavior. Waste in Indonesia has an unresolved problem, as the population increases, the amount of waste produced by human activities also increases, so education is needed for the public. Education is any planned effort to influence other people, whether individuals, groups or society, so that they do what is expected by educational practitioners. In relation to waste management education for the community, it is hoped that the public will know about waste management using the 3R approach, namely reduce, reuse, recycle, in this case the most emphasized is waste management by composting. This community service is carried out to increase public knowledge regarding waste management by reducing, reusing, recycling. This community service uses pre-test and post-test methods, also using education and demonstrations about waste management. The results obtained from this community service were that the community experienced an increase in knowledge after being given health education and demonstrations about waste management. Those who were given the education looked very enthusiastic and had a high level of curiosity because the people who were given the education provided feedback, namely by answering questions from the community service team and the community also learned about how to manage waste by composting it. Based on the results of outreach activities to the community about how to manage waste and the dangers of burning waste by burning it as well as a demonstration of making organic waste into compost, public knowledge has increased

Abstract

Until now, public health problems are still a concern. for the government. Public awareness of the importance of health is still low. The level of public health is uneven and very low, especially in people living in slum settlements. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a health behavior carried out with awareness, so that a person can improve their health status. Community behavior that is still unhygienic, coupled with the absence of supporting environmental facilities and infrastructure, has an impact on the health of people living in these slum settlements. Many public health problems may arise due to people's behavior and environmental conditions that do not pay attention to health. The problems found in the Silaberanti sub-district, especially in RT 26, 41 and 42, are a lack of public awareness of clean and healthy living behavior, this can be seen from an unclean environment and improper disposal of rubbish. The solution used to overcome this problem is by increasing awareness community through outreach activities about clean and healthy living behavior and working together to clean the surrounding environment. The results of this activity have a positive impact on society by providing good understanding 90%  thereby increasing self-awareness of clean and healthy living behavior.

Abstract

Silvofishery is an environmentally friendly fish farming concept that is starting to be developed in coastal areas. The aim of this service activity is to determine the level of understanding of coastal area communities regarding the application of the silvofishery cultivation model. The method used in this service is community education through an empowerment program which is carried out based on the level of active participation of participants. The results of the service reflection show that the level of knowledge of cultivators increased by 83% after the implementation of the cultivation class, as well as the knowledge of cultivators about the advantages and advantages of silvofishery also increased respectively by 58.33% and 50% after the implementation of the silvofishery cultivation class. Another impact of implementing this silvofishery cultivation class is that the farmers understand better the techniques for managing water quality in ponds. Farmers' knowledge of water quality management techniques in pond ecosystems increased by 58.33% from the original 0.00%. This means that the silvofishery cultivation class program is very effective and beneficial for fish farmers. Apart from that, the implementation of this cultivation class is quite educational and practical for disseminating the results of aquaculture engineering innovations. The conclusion from this service activity is that fish farmers on the Degayu coast, Pekalongan City tend to be very unfamiliar and do not understand the silvofishery cultivation model. From the implementation of this cultivation class, it turns out that it can have a significant influence on increasing the knowledge of the cultivating community about the silvofishery cultivation model from 15.25% to 89.33% by combining the concept of simplicity.
