Abstract

Intra Uterine Device (IUD) is an effective long-term contraceptive method, but users are still low. The use of IUD contraceptives is only about 19–20%. Barriers to IUD use include fear of side effects, lack of information, and myths that develop in society. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge level and mother's fear of the side effects of IUD contraception in the working area of the Sipatana Health Center. The study used a quantitative method with an analytical observational study design, using a cross sectional approach. The population of this study is mothers who use non-IUD contraceptives totaling 1,567 people. The sample amounted to 93 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument uses knowledge and mother's fear instruments. Data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and mother's fear, obtained p-value = 0.000 which was smaller than the significance value of ? = 0.05 which means that the lower the mother's knowledge, the higher the fear. This research is expected to be an evaluation material related to the use of IUDs in the work area of the Sipatana Health Center as well as an initial screening related to mothers' fears of IUD use

Abstract

The fulfillment of children’s nutritional needs constitutes an essential component of parental maintenance obligations in Islamic law. Such obligations are not limited to providing food in a quantitative sense, but also encompass the quality of nutrition necessary to support children’s physical growth, health, and overall development. In Indonesia, the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) has emerged as a public policy initiative aimed at addressing malnutrition, reducing stunting, and improving the quality of national human resources. The implementation of this program raises normative questions concerning the relationship between parental responsibilities and the role of the state in ensuring children’s nutritional rights. This study examines the position of the MBG program within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence on child maintenance and analyzes its implications for parental obligations. The research employs a normative Islamic legal approach through library research, supported by fiqh analysis, maqasid al-shari‘ah, and public policy perspectives. The findings indicate that parental maintenance obligations remain inherent and are not nullified by the existence of the MBG program. Rather, the program functions as a complementary form of state social support aimed at strengthening the fulfillment of children’s nutritional rights. From the perspective of maqasid al-shari‘ah, the MBG program aligns with the objectives of protecting life (hifz al-nafs), preserving intellect (hifz al-‘aql), and safeguarding future generations (hifz al-nasl), provided that its implementation is conducted fairly, proportionally, and without generating new forms of harm.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of increased blood pressure that is chronic and can cause serious complications if not controlled properly. Lifestyle factors such as physical activity, stress levels, and smoking behavior are thought to be related to the severity of hypertension. This study aims to analyze factors related to the degree of hypertension in the working area of the Limboto Health Center. This research method is quantitative with a correlational analytical design through a cross sectional approach. The population is all hypertensive patients totaling 4,575 people, and a sample of 98 respondents using purposive sampling techniques. The research instruments are the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS), Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS). The data was analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most of the respondents had low physical activity (44.9%), moderate stress levels (42.9%), and moderate smoking behavior (36.7%). Based on the results of the Spearman Rank test, it was found that there was a significant relationship between physical activity and the degree of hypertension (p-value = 0.000 and the correlation coefficient r = -0.755), there was a significant relationship between the level of stress and the degree of hypertension (p-value = 0.000 and the correlation coefficient r = 0.469), and there was a significant relationship between smoking behavior and the degree of hypertension (p-value = 0.000 and the correlation coefficient r = 0.572). The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between physical activity, stress levels, and smoking behavior with the degree of hypertension in people in the Limboto Health Center Working Area. The lower the physical activity, the higher the level of stress, and the more severe the smoking behavior, the higher the degree of hypertension in the respondents. Thus, the target of this research is expected to be the basis for health workers in the work area of the Limboto Health Center to increase promotive and preventive efforts through health education, routine screening, and improvement of healthy living behaviors to reduce the risk and severity of hypertension in the community.
