Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the mathematical representation abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 13 Mataram on the topic of Two-Variabel Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV), viewed from the introvert and extrovert personality types. A qualitative research method was used with descriptive approach. The subjects were chosen using purposive sampling and involved 4 students selected based on personality questionnaires and mathematical representation ability tests, followed by interview. Data was collected through non-tes instruments Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), essay questions on mathematical representation ability test and interviews which is then analyzed descriptively to find out the differences in verbal, symbolic and visual representation abilities between introvert and extrovert students. The data analysis uses the interactive analysis model from Miles & Huberman. The results showed that introvert students have very good verbal and symbolic representation skills, but still weak in visual representation because none of them could answer correctly. Extrovert students also have good verbal and symbolic representation skills, more confident in answering, but less detailed and tend to rush. Just like introvert, extrovert students also couldn’t represent SPLDV visually in the right way. The main difficulty for both personality types is in converting the information in the problem into a visual representation caused by a lack of experience and practice in drawing graphs.

Abstract

Hasil pembelajaran merupakan langkah di mana seseorang memanfaatkan kemampuan berpikir, merasakan, dan bergerak untuk mengumpulkan pengalaman dalam jangka waktu yang cukup panjang, mendapatkan pengetahuan, dan akhirnya mengalami transformasi. Apa yang diamati akan tetap tersimpan dalam ingatan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa menggunakan media interaktif Kahoot pada siswa kelas X di SMAN 1 Labuapi dan kelas VIII di MTsN 1 Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jumlah populasi total sebanyak 58 yang terdiri dari 24 siswa kelas X di SMAN 1 Labuapi dan 34 kelas VIII di MTsN 1 Mataram orang yang dilakukan selama 3 bulan, yaitu April hingga Juni. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar di MTsN 1 Mataram 82,35% dan di SMAN 1 Labuapi 83,3 % dengan menggunakan media Kahoot. Oleh karena itu penggunaan media interaktif Kahoot memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa di MTs maupun SMA. Media Kahoot dapat digunakan oleh guru sebagai salah satu cara dalam memberikan pemahaman yang luas dengan bantuan video interaktif.

Abstract

The development of E-LKPD (Electronic Student Worksheets) in mathematics education represents an effort to integrate learning strategies with information technology. This study employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, aiming to identify, evaluate, and interpret various research findings related to E-LKPD over the past five years (2021-2025). The focus of the study encompasses the components of E-LKPD, challenges in its development and implementation, as well as the effectiveness of E-LKPD on students' mathematical abilities. An analysis of 20 articles revealed that the primary components of E-LKPD include covers, lesson identity, usage instructions, learning objectives, material presentation, exercise problems, and evaluation. Common challenges encountered include a lack of digital facilities such as smartphones or PCs, the readiness of teachers and students to utilize digital tools, and suboptimal digital platforms. The effectiveness of E-LKPD has been shown to enhance mathematical skills, including numeracy, creative thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, metacognition, self-directed learning, and self-efficacy. The findings of this research aim to encourage educators to develop more effective E-LKPD, thereby positively impacting students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Crime data in North Sumatra Province obtained from the Central Statistics Agency shows an upward trend, peaking in 2023. This condition presents an urgent need for swift and appropriate policy intervention. The effectiveness of such policies is measured by their ability to significantly reduce crime rates. This study aims to forecast the trend of criminal acts in North Sumatra for the period 2024–2028 using the Monte Carlo Simulation method, based on historical data from 2000 to 2023. The stochastic simulation approach was chosen to accommodate the uncertainty and variability inherent in crime data. The results provide probabilistic predictions that can serve as a reference for the government in designing more adaptive and responsive crime prevention policies. This model is expected to offer realistic estimates of potential increases or decreases in crime, thereby enabling more targeted and data-driven decisions. Overall, the findings of this study contribute to the development of strategic, risk-based security policies that reflect the dynamic nature of criminal activity.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika dianggap membosankan dan sulit dipahami karena materi cenderung bersifat abstrak dan metode pengajaran kurang inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan alat peraga berupa permainan ular tangga bertema Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar yang dirancang untuk memfasilitasi model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Team Games Tournament (TGT) yang valid, efektif dan praktis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Reseach and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Tahap development dilakukan penilaian produk melalui penyebaran angket kepada validator. Hasil validasi menunjukan bahwa produk berkriteria sangat valid dan layak digunakan, dengan skor rata-rata untuk aspek materi 4,538 dan aspek media 4,583. Tahap implementation dilakukan penerapan produk serta analisis efektifitas produk. Hasil analisis efektivitas produk dilihat dari pre-test dan post-test. Ditunjukan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar yang signifikan dengan skor rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,744 termasuk kategori tinggi. Tahap evaluation dilakukan penyebaran angket respon kepada siswa untuk mengetahui tingkat kepraktisan produk. Hasil uji kepraktisan menunjukan skor 4,230 dengan kriteria sangat baik.

Abstract

The development of technology-based interactive learning media is needed in the world of education, because it can help solve learning problems in the classroom, enrich the learning process, and increase students' creativity, motivation, and mathematical literacy skills. However, the availability of this interactive learning application is still very limited. Based on this, this research was conducted with the aim of developing Kodular-assisted interactive learning applications that are expected to improve the mathematical literacy skills of class VIII K students on SPLDV (System of Linear Equations of Two Variables) material. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Students of class VIII K at SMP Negeri 3 Sungguminasa were the subjects in this study. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. Data processing through analysis of validity, practicality and effectiveness. The results showed that the Kodular-based interactive learning application on SPLDV material has met the criteria of valid, practical, and effective. In addition, students' mathematical literacy skills have increased after the application of the application. Therefore, this interactive learning application can be used as a solution to improve students' mathematical literacy skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dan resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa kelas X di SMA Negeri 1 Wiradesa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif berjenis penelitian ex post facto. Sampel diambil melalui teknik cluster random sampling, dengan jumlah 32 siswa dari kelas X7. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes dan angket. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana dan berganda, setelah sebelumnya dilakukan uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas, linearitas, heterokedastisitas, dan multikolinearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika berpengaruh signifikan sebesar 34,4%; 2) resiliensi matematis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis sebesar 20,2%; dan 3) secara simultan, kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dan resiliensi matematis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis sebesar 42,8%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika dan resiliensi matematis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa

Abstract

This study aims to implement and compare the effectiveness of the secant method in solving nonlinear equations using two different computational applications microsoft excel and maple. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with a comparative methodology. The secant method, which is part of numerical methods commonly used to determine the roots of nonlinear equations, was separately implemented on each software platform. The process of solving the nonlinear equation through secant iterations was explored and executed independently on both tools. The results of the implementation show that both applications are capable of producing similar root values for the given equation. However, Microsoft Excel offers an advantage in visualizing the iterative process in a detailed and step-by-step manner, allowing users to clearly understand how the solution is derived through each stage of calculation. In contrast, Maple tends to present the final outcome of the iteration process without displaying the detailed steps involved. This study analyzes the strengths and limitations of each application in the context of implementing the secant method for solving nonlinear equations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika antara siswa yang belajar menerapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan Quizizz, model konvensional berbantuan Quizizz, dan model konvensional. Permasalahan yang mendasari penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang disebabkan oleh pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang interaktif. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dan desain Post-test Only Control Group Design. Sampel terdiri dari tiga kelas XI di SMK Negeri 1 Warungasem yang dipilih menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling, masing-masing memperoleh perlakuan berbeda. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika berbentuk tes uraian yang terdiri dari 7 soal. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA satu jalan dan uji lanjut (scheffe). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antar kelompok. Model PBL berbantuan Quizizz memberikan hasil pemahaman konsep matematika tertinggi, disusul model konvensional berbantuan Quizizz, dan terakhir model konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model PBL berbantuan Quizizz lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the findings of learning obstacles experienced by students in the multiplication of count numbers. The findings were obtained through the learning obstacle test at the preliminary study stage and supported by data showing the low numeracy skills of students in Indonesia. The identified difficulties include: (1) understanding the meaning of story problems, (2) understanding the concept of multiplication as repeated addition, (3) performing mathematical calculation processes, and (4) applying the concept of multiplication in everyday life. To overcome these problems, a didactical design was developed as an effort to minimize learning obstacles while facilitating students' numeracy skills. This research uses the Didactical Design Research (DDR) method which includes three stages, namely prospective analysis, metapedidactic, and retrospective. Data were collected through observation interviews, tests, questionnaires, and documentation studies, then analyzed through data reduction, presentation and verification. The results showed that the application of didactical design had a positive impact on multiplication learning. This is evidenced by 89% of students who gave positive responses, as well as the reduction of learning barriers that had previously been identified, especially the reduction of difficulties in understanding the concept of multiplication. However, there are still some aspects that need to be improved to optimize learning and anticipate other potential obstacles.
