Abstract

The income distribution gap is one of the significant development challenges, even though economic growth and HDI show an increasing trend every year. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, the Human Development Index (HDI), and the number of population on income distribution gaps in Jambi Province during the 2018–2024 period.  The method used was panel data regression analysis with a quantitative approach. The results show that partially, economic growth has a negative but not significant effect on income distribution gaps, which indicates that economic growth has not been enjoyed equally by all levels of society. Meanwhile, HDI and population have a significant and positive effect on income distribution gaps. The uneven increase in HDI in all regions actually widens the gap, while the increase in the number of people that is not balanced with productivity and equal distribution of resources increases inequality. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on income distribution gaps, as evidenced by the results of the F test.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the marketing strategies of dried areca nut (pinang kering) implemented by traders in Kuala Betara District, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency. Areca nut is one of the plantation commodities with high economic value and great potential to increase community income and national foreign exchange through exports. However, in this region, the marketing of dried areca nut still faces various challenges, such as suboptimal product quality, limited transportation access, and predominantly traditional marketing strategies. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, indepth interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study are dried areca nut traders operating in the area. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that traders' marketing strategies include direct selling to middlemen, word-of-mouth promotion, and maintaining product quality to ensure customer loyalty. The study suggests the need for diversification of marketing channels through digital media, strengthening cooperatives or business groups, and improving product quality through training and processing facilities. With a more modern and integrated strategy, the marketing of dried areca nut from Kuala Betara District has the potential to expand to national and international markets.

Abstract

Lower Back Pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal problem experienced by many people, including students who have the habit of sitting for long periods. This condition can interfere with daily activities and the quality of students' lives. The high global prevalence of LBP highlights the urgency to understand the risk factors of LBP. Sitting habits with non-ergonomic positions and prolonged sitting durations have been identified as potential contributors to the development of LBP in students, which can negatively impact academic activities. Objective: To determine the relationship between sitting position and duration with complaints of lower back pain among students of the Faculty of Medicine at Baiturrahmah University. Methods: This study used an analytical method with a cross-sectional study design. The study respondents consisted of 91 medical students at Baiturrahmah University, selected using consecutive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using the RULA questionnaire instrument and The Pain and Distress Scale. The data analysis used was the chi-square test. Results: From 91 student samples from the Faculty of Medicine at Baiturrahmah University, the majority of respondents were 21 years old (61.5%), with females being the most common gender (56%), and having a normal BMI (50.5%). Most had a very high-risk sitting posture (47.3%) and sat for more than 4 hours/day (83.5%). The majority of those experiencing lower back pain were in the mild category (86.8%). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between sitting posture and lower back pain (p-value=0.015) and between prolonged sitting duration and lower back pain (p-value=0.025). Conclusion: Based on the analysis above, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between sitting posture and prolonged sitting duration with lower back pain in students of the Faculty of Medicine at Baiturrahmah University.

Abstract

Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a chronic medical condition characterized by elevated arterial blood pressure. Understanding the factors influencing the development of hypertension in the elderly is crucial for identifying and developing better prevention and management strategies. Factors requiring further research include obesity, diet, and physical activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between obesity, diet, and physical activity with hypertension levels in the elderly at the Sidomulyo Integrated Health Post (Posyandu). The research method used correlational analysis with a cross-sectional design approach. The population in this study was 40 elderly residents of the Sidomulyo Integrated Health Post (Posyandu Sidomulyo), and the research sample was 36 respondents. The sampling technique used by researchers in this study is a Purposive Sampling technique. The inclusion criteria in this study are: active elderly at the Sidomulyo Integrated Health Post and willing to fill out the questionnaire completely. The exclusion criteria in this study are: elderly who are no longer active at the Sidomulyo Integrated Health Post and are not willing to be respondents. The instruments used are digital scales to measure body weight in determining obesity status, measurement of Eating Patterns using the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) questionnaire, measurement of physical activity using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) questionnaire and measurement of Hypertension using a digital tensiometer / tensiometer and stethoscope. Based on the results of the analysis using the sperm rank test, there are analysis results on the obesity variable showing a Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.013 which is smaller than the sig value = 0.05 and there is a positive correlation value r = 0.410. So it can be interpreted that there is a fairly strong relationship. On the diet variable shows a Sig. (2-tailed) value = 0.026 smaller than the sig value = 0.05 which means there is a significant relationship between the diet variable and the level of hypertension with a positive correlation value of r = 0.370 which means there is a very low relationship between the diet variable and the level of hypertension. While on the physical activity variable there is a sig value = 0.002 with a positive correlation value of r = 0.509 which means there is a strong significant relationship between the physical activity variable and the level of hypertension. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship in the three variables as evidenced by the three sig values. (2-tailed) ≤ 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic business ethics in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the halal culinary sector in Indonesia. Increasing public awareness of halal products encourages business actors to not only pursue profits but also apply sharia principles in business activities. The method used is a literature study by reviewing journals, books, and scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that Islamic ethical values, such as honesty, fairness, trustworthiness, and responsibility, play a vital role in maintaining business sustainability and increasing consumer trust and loyalty. Although still facing obstacles such as limited understanding among MSMEs and regulatory support, opportunities such as halal certification, technological developments, and increasing demand for ethical products open up space for MSMEs to develop sustainably through synergy between business actors, the government, and financial institutions.

Abstract

Insomnia affects more than 852 million adults worldwide and 43.7% of individuals aged ≥19 years in Indonesia, highlighting the need for effective and safe therapy. Benzodiazepines and Z-drugs are commonly used but are associated with risks of tolerance and dependence. Dual orexin receptor antagonists (DORAs) have emerged as a more selective therapeutic alternative. A systematic literature review was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar, focusing on meta-analyses of suvorexant, lemborexant, and daridorexant. Suvorexant improved subjective total sleep time (MD −19.10), subjective time to sleep onset (MD −8.23), and subjective wake after sleep onset (MD −6.45). Lemborexant at doses of 5–10 mg was effective in improving wake after sleep onset (MD −19.90; −22.24) and sleep onset latency (MD −9.23; −12.56). Daridorexant at doses of 25–50 mg reduced wake after sleep onset (MD −0.30; −0.53) and latent persistent sleep (MD −0.30; −0.53). Adverse effects of DORAs include somnolence, daytime sleepiness, fatigue, abnormal dreams, and nasopharyngitis. Overall, DORAs demonstrated significant effectiveness on subjective sleep parameters compared with control groups, with variations in effect size and safety profiles. DORAs may be considered effective and safe treatments for insomnia, with drug and dose selection tailored to clinical needs.

Abstract

Chest radiograph is said to have high quality if radiograph has all the information needed in establishing the diagnosis. If the quality of the image decreases, it is possible for the diagnosis given to the patient to be less accurate.  Based on the opinion of radiologists, there are five criteria for assessment of chest radiograph; anatomical and image coverage, symmetrical, insufficient inspiration, adequate penetration, and scapula outside the lung area. This study aims to evaluate the quality of chest radiographs at Siti Rahmah Hospital in 2019. This research was conducted from October to December 2019 in the Radiology Installation section of Siti Rahmah Hospital, Padang. Chest radiographes were collected from January to April in 2019 recorded at the Radiology Installation of Siti Rahmah Hospital in Padang total 100 samples. The results showed that about 40 people (40,0%) of chest radiograph met all the image criteria but the remaining 60 people (60,0%) did not meet these criteria because they did not meet the anatomical and image coverage (2,0%), asymmetric (23,0%), inadequate penetration (11,0%), and scapula out of the lung fields (50,0%).
