Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to implement a Knowledge Management (KM) System to enhance organizational learning in educational institutions through structured knowledge management: acquisition, documentation, storage, sharing, and utilization. Common challenges faced by partners include tacit knowledge held by individuals, scattered learning materials, undocumented best practices, and non-standard onboarding processes for new teachers and staff. Interventions are carried out through knowledge audits, KM architecture design (process–role–technology), development of taxonomies and SOPs, establishment of digital repositories and communities of practice, user training, and go-live support. Outputs include a KM blueprint, a knowledge portal/repository, standard document templates, user guides, and organizational learning KPIs.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) project designed and tested a participatory management model for community-based local economic development. Common challenges include program planning that is not data-driven, uneven community participation, poorly managed local commodity value chains, weak economic institutions (business groups/village-owned enterprises/cooperatives), and limited access to markets and financing. Interventions were carried out through asset and needs mapping (participatory rural appraisal/PRA), the formation of a joint decision-making forum, the drafting of a local economic action plan, the strengthening of governance (SOPs, roles, transparency), assistance with the implementation of priority programs (pilot), and indicator-based monitoring and evaluation. Outputs include model documents and SOPs, a map of local economic potential, a one-year action plan, community accountability mechanisms, and replicable pilot results.

Abstract

This Community Service Program focuses on improving the efficiency and traceability of healthcare services through the digitization of administrative processes and workflows. Common challenges faced by our partners include long wait times, duplicate record-keeping, difficulty tracking files, delays in claims processing and billing, and an unbalanced workload for staff. Interventions are implemented through mapping of current processes, baseline measurements (wait times, turnaround times), design of digital workflows, development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), implementation of electronic forms and queue management systems, and a dashboard for monitoring capacity and workload. Success is measured by reductions in wait times, improved data accuracy, accelerated service processes, and increased staff productivity.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to improve the marketing and sales performance of digital SMEs by strengthening omnichannel strategies, branding, and customer relationship management (CRM). Common issues include sales channels operating in isolation (WhatsApp–marketplaces–Instagram/TikTok), inconsistent brand messaging, unplanned content, slow customer response times, and a lack of documented customer and transaction data for retention purposes. Interventions are carried out through baseline assessments, practice-based training, channel optimization clinics, implementation of customer service SOPs, and mentoring to run 30–60-day omnichannel campaigns. Outputs include channel and customer journey maps, brand identity guidelines, content calendars, service script templates, a simple CRM dashboard, and KPIs monitored during the mentoring period.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) program aims to improve the operational efficiency of schools and training institutions through the implementation of Lean Management to reduce waste, speed up services, and standardize processes. Common issues faced by partner institutions include long administrative service lines, duplicate data entry, lengthy document approval wait times, slow procurement and infrastructure processes, and procedural variations across units. The program is implemented through process mapping (Value Stream Mapping), identification of the 8 types of lean waste, root cause analysis, design of the future state process, development of SOPs and visual management, implementation of 5S, and piloting of quick improvements (Kaizen) on priority processes. Outputs include before-and-after process maps, standardized SOPs, performance indicators (lead time, cycle time, first-time-right), and a plan for continuous improvement.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to strengthen the managerial capacity of batik SMEs in Pematang Siantar City through training and mentoring in digital marketing and business financial management. The main problems faced by partners include marketing that is still predominantly offline, inconsistent promotional content, suboptimal use of marketplaces and social media, and disorganized financial records, making it difficult to calculate cost of goods, profit, and cash flow. The intervention was carried out through needs assessment, structured training, hands-on practice (including the creation of business accounts, product catalogs, promotional content, and simple bookkeeping), as well as pre–post evaluation and follow-up actions. The outputs of this program include training modules, simple SOPs for digital marketing, bookkeeping templates (cash, sales, expenses, inventory), and a 30-day action plan for each SME. This program is expected to improve digital literacy, enhance the consistency of financial record-keeping, and strengthen business decision-making capacity, thereby increasing the competitiveness of local batik SMEs.
