Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has compelled the education sector, particularly vocational schools (SMK), to produce graduates who are creative, adaptive, and competent in the creative industry. One crucial competency is graphic design skills, which play an essential role in digital content production and visual communication. This community service activity was conducted at SMK Ki Hajar Dewantoro, Tangerang City, aiming to enhance the competence of students majoring in Visual Communication Design (DKV) in mastering graphic design and creating interactive social media content. This program is an implementation of the 2025 Community-Based Empowerment Funding Program, approved by the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. The method employed was Project-Based Learning (PBL), which focuses on improving students’ technical, creative, and collaborative skills through real project-based learning. The activity consisted of five stage socialization, training in design software (Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator), mentoring in digital content creation, evaluation of outcomes, and program sustainability planning. The results indicated a significant improvement in students’ technical abilities and creativity in producing visual designs, resulting in attractive and functional products such as posters and die-cut packaging. This program contributes to the achievement of SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and aligns with Asta Cita 7 and Asta Cita 8 in strengthening digital skills and national self-reliance. This activity serves as a best-practice model of community service that effectively enhances vocational competence in the modern learning era.

Abstract

The increasing accumulation of unmanaged inorganic waste has become a serious environmental issue that threatens ecosystem sustainability and public health. However, the distribution of advanced technology has not yet reached many local communities. Therefore, the Orange Box technology was introduced as an Internet of Things (IoT)-based innovation designed to automatically sort and recycle inorganic waste through intelligent detection and data-driven processing systems. The intended benefits for the community are to improve the effectiveness and social impact of waste management through the implementation of the Orange Box. Hence, technological literacy and training are required to enhance the efficiency of waste sorting and utilization. This community service program applied a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys, direct observations, and interviews to assess community behavior, awareness levels, and satisfaction. The results of continuous socialization and training activities showed a significant increase in the quantity and accuracy of inorganic waste sorting, as well as improved public awareness of sustainable waste management. Furthermore, the community found the system easy to use and motivating for consistent waste sorting practices. These findings confirm that IoT technology plays an essential role in achieving smart waste management and fostering environmental responsibility at the community level, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13 Climate Action). Future studies are recommended to expand implementation, integrate economic incentives, and enhance real-time monitoring systems for broader urban applications.

Abstract

The strategic role of visual design and digital branding training in enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has become increasingly important in the digital economy era. Many MSMEs still face limitations in market reach and weak brand identity due to inadequate visual communication skills and minimal implementation of digital branding strategies. These challenges reduce their competitiveness in an increasingly competitive online marketplace. This community service program aims to analyze the impact of structured training in visual design and digital branding on improving brand perception, market visibility, and sales performance of MSMEs. This program employs a mixed-method approach by combining pre-test and post-test surveys, in-depth interviews, and direct observation. The participants consisted of 50 MSME actors who took part in a a three-month training program covering logo design, product packaging, social media branding, and digital marketing content creation. Quantitative data were analyzed using paired statistical tests, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The results indicate a significant improvement in brand consistency, visual attractiveness, digital engagement, and online sales growth after the participants completed the training program. Participants also reported increased confidence in managing brand assets and implementing digital communication strategies. It can be concluded that visual design and digital branding training represent an effective intervention to strengthen the competitiveness of MSMEs, support sustainable business growth, and promote the development of a resilient creative economy in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the most critical nutritional problems in Indonesia, significantly affecting children's physical and cognitive development. According to national data, the prevalence of stunting in rural areas remains relatively high. In Kasomalang Kulon Tourism Village, Subang Regency, West Java, the issue is exacerbated by the limited capacity of posyandu cadres in conducting anthropometric measurements, low community nutrition literacy, and the underutilization of abundant local food resources. These challenges hinder optimal stunting prevention efforts, especially during the first 1000 days of life (HPK), a crucial window for child development. This community service program aims to optimize the role of posyandu cadres in preventing stunting through targeted education and empowerment on the first 1000 days of life (HPK) in Kasomalang Kulon Tourism Village. The program applied a community empowerment approach using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method combined with the Triple-A framework (Assessment, Analysis, and Action). The activities consisted of social mapping, participatory workshops, intensive training on anthropometric measurements (weight, height, and head circumference), nutrition education, demonstrations of local food-based complementary feeding (MP-ASI), and regular monitoring and evaluation using pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The program involved 25 posyandu cadres and community members over a three-month period. The results demonstrated significant improvements in cadres knowledge (from 62% to 89%), skills in anthropometric measurements, and confidence in delivering nutrition counseling. In addition, the program successfully increased awareness and utilization of local food resources for nutritious MP-ASI. The participatory approach also strengthened community engagement and ownership in stunting prevention initiatives. This study concludes that community-based empowerment interventions using participatory methods are highly effective in enhancing the capacity of posyandu cadres and supporting sustainable stunting prevention efforts. Strengthening cadre roles through education on the first 1000 days of life can serve as a strategic model for similar programs in other rural areas.

Abstract

The development of local entrepreneurship ecosystems requires collaborative engagement among multiple stakeholders to address the challenges faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in digital marketing, business networking, and community-based economic empowerment. However, socio-cultural public events in regional contexts are often implemented only as ceremonial activities and have not been optimally utilized as platforms for entrepreneurship activation and collaborative ecosystem development. This community service program aimed to strengthen the local entrepreneurship ecosystem through a Pentahelix-based public engagement model during the National Santri Day 2025 celebration in Tulungagung, Indonesia. The program employed a participatory community development approach involving academia, business actors, community organizations, government institutions, and media partners. Activities included entrepreneurship campaigns, MSME exhibitions, digital marketing socialization, branding assistance, and stakeholder networking during a public walking event attended by 2,000 participants. The results indicate that the program successfully increased MSME product exposure, improved participants’ understanding of collaborative entrepreneurship and digital marketing, strengthened stakeholder networking, and enhanced public engagement in local economic activities. The findings suggest that socio-cultural community events can function as sustainable entrepreneurial activation platforms when integrated with collaborative governance and ecosystem-based empowerment strategies.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the retail sector is progressing rapidly, yet many micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continue to face challenges in utilizing technology effectively. This study presents a student-led community empowerment model aimed at optimizing digital retail strategies while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach complemented by quantitative observation and survey data collected from 100 respondents. Students implemented various digital initiatives, including digital branding, content management, marketplace integration, and digital payment systems in participating MSMEs. The findings indicate significant improvements in market reach, customer interaction, operational efficiency, and customer loyalty. The respondent data further support the positive impact of digital strategy implementation and highlight the role of students as mediators of knowledge transfer between academic theory and business practice. This model demonstrates that student involvement in digital retail initiatives can effectively enhance MSME performance while promoting inclusive economic growth, industrial innovation, and responsible consumption aligned with SDGs. The findings also suggest a scalable framework for sustainable community-based economic empowerment.

Abstract

Community empowerment through creativepreneurship is essential for sustaining the quality of life and economic self-reliance of local communities, yet the implementation of effective multidisciplinary social service models remains limited. This article aims to evaluate the reframing of community empowerment through creativepreneurship as a multidisciplinary social service model that can enhance community participation and capacity building. The community service approach used a participatory method involving structured training, direct mentoring, interviews, and observation on 47 local MSME participants over six months. Data analysis was conducted through source triangulation to ensure the validity of the findings. Service outcomes showed an increase in creative entrepreneurial skills, strengthened cross-sector collaboration, and improved productivity of micro enterprises. Participants reported increased engagement in local economic activities and the application of innovative ideas in products and marketing. The multidisciplinary social service model based on creativepreneurship is effective in strengthening community empowerment, improving UMKM competencies, and reinforcing socio-economic networks within the community. Recommendations for future research include enhancing digital marketing strategies and expanding the scale of training to other social groups.

Abstract

In today’s digital era, consumer behavior in searching for building materials and home renovation services has shifted to digital platforms, especially Google Maps. Traditional building material businesses still lag behind in digital visibility and often lose competitiveness against modern building depots.  This community service activity aims to help traditional MSMEs survive and grow through digitalization by increasing business visibility and customer footfall conversion.  This study applied a local Search Engine Optimization (SEO) approach through a case study of a building material MSME. The research stages included initial observation of the business profile and customer visits, implementation of Local SEO optimization strategies, and final observation to evaluate the resulting changes. Optimization strategies included completing business information, applying local keywords, adding visual content, and actively managing customer reviews. The novelty of this research lies in measuring footfall conversion through the implementation of Local SEO on Google Maps for traditional building material MSMEs. The study focuses not only on digital business profile management but also on the direct impact on increasing physical customer visits. The findings indicate an increase in local search visibility and a 76.68% rise in physical customer visits after optimization. Utilizing free Google Maps features proved to be an efficient and practical digitalization strategy to improve MSME competitiveness and business sustainability.

Abstract

Breast cancer is one of the non-communicable diseases with a fairly high incidence rate among women in Indonesia. The low level of public awareness regarding the importance of early detection of breast cancer is one of the factors causing delays in treatment and increasing the risk of complications. One of the early detection efforts that can be carried out independently is SADARI (Periksa Payudara Sendiri). This community service activity aimed to improve public knowledge and awareness regarding the importance of breast self-examination (SADARI) as an initial step in breast cancer prevention. The activity was conducted from 9 to 27 March 2026 in RT 12 RW 01, Kelurahan Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. The implementation methods included preliminary surveys to 135 respondents, health education counseling, interactive discussions, demonstrations on how to perform SADARI correctly, and evaluations of participant understanding. The media used were posters and PowerPoint presentations. The results of the activity showed that the community had high enthusiasm during the counseling sessions. Participants were able to understand the definition of SADARI, its benefits, the signs and symptoms of breast abnormalities, and the correct steps for performing breast self-examination. The health counseling conducted directly was able to increase public knowledge regarding the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Through this activity, it is expected that the community will routinely practice SADARI as an effort to maintain breast health and prevent delays in breast cancer treatment.
