Abstract

Calculus-based creativepreneurship is an innovative approach aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by applying mathematical concepts in business strategies. In the midst of the creative economy and digital transformation, MSMEs face challenges related to product innovation, financial management, and optimal use of digital technology. Limited access to data-driven training and quantitative analysis skills hinders effective and measurable business decision-making. This community service activity aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and field practice by integrating calculus concepts into MSME business decision-making processes. The program was conducted as part of the Raharja Enrichment Program (REP), which adopts the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach to provide practical, hands-on learning experiences. The method involved direct consultation with MSME actors. Students conducted observations, problem identification, and data analysis to apply calculus in calculating production costs, setting selling prices, break-even analysis and profit projections. Additionally, students used basic software tools to simulate cost and revenue scenarios and their impact on profit margins, making the learning experience more contextual and practical. The results show that the application of calculus supports MSMEs in improving operational efficiency, developing product innovation, and implementing more systematic, data driven financial strategies. Several partner MSMEs began adopting periodic performance evaluations using function graphs and rates of change. The integration of calculus in the development of creativepreneurship through REP provides dual benefits empowering MSMEs and enhancing student competencies. This model represents a strategic step toward building creative, data-based business solutions and can be replicated across various business sectors in the digital era.

Abstract

Outcome Based Education (OBE) is an educational approach that emphasizes the achievement of clear and measurable learning outcomes to ensure graduates possess competencies relevant to industry needs and global challenges. This study aims to analyze the impact of OBE implementation on graduate readiness to compete in the global arena through an international benchmarking study. The research method employed is a comparative study, examining OBE implementation in several countries, such as Australia, Singapore, and Finland, and comparing it with the current situation in Indonesia. Data were collected through literature reviews, education policy reports, and interviews with academics and industry professionals. The findings indicate that countries with well-established OBE practices tend to produce graduates who are more competitive in the global job market. Key factors contributing to the success of OBE include curriculum flexibility based on industry demands, competency-based assessments and strong collaboration between higher education institutions and the workforce. In contrast, Indonesia faces several challenges in implementing OBE, such as limited infrastructure, lack of training for educators, and a gap between higher education and industry requirements. Therefore, a more structured strategy is needed, including curriculum reform, improved teaching quality and strengthened partnerships with industry sectors. This study offers insights for policymakers and educational institutions to optimize OBE practices in order to enhance graduate competitiveness in the era of globalization.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, higher education faces significant challenges in ensuring the quality and relevance of graduates at the international level. One strategy to enhance global competitiveness is through international benchmarking, a process of comparing institutional performance with global standards or leading institutions in the field. International benchmarking goes beyond academic outcomes it also includes curriculum development, teaching methods, and the improvement of student skills to meet global industry demands. Within the framework of Outcome-Based Education (OBE), the achievement of learning outcomes is a key indicator of a program’s success. OBE emphasizes the results students must attain after completing their studies, including technical skills, critical thinking abilities, and professional competencies. International benchmarking plays a crucial role in designing OBE-based curricula to ensure graduates possess internationally recognized competencies. However, its implementation poses several challenges, such as limited resources, institutional readiness to align with global standards, and difficulties in accessing valid and relevant comparative data. This study aims to explore the impact of international benchmarking on the achievement of learning outcomes within the OBE framework by examining case studies and analyzing data from institutions that have implemented benchmarking practices. The study employs case studies and data analysis from institutions that have implemented international benchmarking practices. The findings are expected to provide strategic insights into the effectiveness of benchmarking in enhancing higher education quality. Additionally, the study aims to identify adaptive and sustainable implementation strategies for educational institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The scarcity of LPG gas that often occurs in urban areas has become a serious challenge for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This condition causes an increase in operational costs and creates uncertainty in energy supply, thus directly impacting business continuity. This community service aims to}overcome these problems by introducing artificial natural gas technology as a sustainable alternative solution. The main problem raised is the high dependence of MSMEs on LPG gas, while its availability is increasingly limited amid increasing demand. The methods used in this community service activity include observation of the energy needs of MSME actors, application of biogas technology to produce artificial natural gas, and technical training on how to operate and maintain the system. Activities are carried out through a participatory approach to ensure understanding and active involvement of the target community. The results of the community service show that the use of artificial natural gas can significantly reduce dependence on LPG, reduce energy costs, and increase the sustainability and operational efficiency of MSMEs. The conclusion of this service is that the application of artificial natural gas technology not only helps overcome the scarcity of LPG, but also makes a real contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 13 (Addressing Climate Change).

Abstract

Urban environmental issues, such as increasing air pollution and the reduction of green spaces, have become serious challenges due to the high usage of motor vehicles that produce carbon emissions. This air pollution has a detrimental impact on public health and quality of life. As an alternative, bicycles as environmentally friendly means of transportation are considered capable of reducing pollution and supporting urban greening programs. Bicycle use also has the potential to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. This community service aims to analyze the benefits of bicycle usage in mitigating the negative impacts of conventional transportation on the environment and to identify the obstacles in its implementation. The methods used include surveys of urban communities regarding their transportation patterns, observations of supporting infrastructure for bicycles, and analysis of existing sustainable transportation policies in the city. The results of the community service show that increasing bicycle usage can lower carbon emissions, reduce congestion, and improve air quality. Additionally, reducing land usage for roads and motor vehicle parking opens opportunities for expanding green spaces in the city, which in turn can improve the quality of life for the community. However, there are obstacles such as the lack of safe bicycle lanes, insufficient supporting facilities, and low public awareness of the benefits of cycling. Therefore, more comprehensive policies, development of cyclist-friendly infrastructure, and educational campaigns are needed to increase community participation.
